Im opening a box of op09 in a week when it oficially realses over here and im chasing that luffy leader card, great opening guys great from start till end!
Good art is definitely important, and this set has some incredible art! but one of the main things that drew us in to the opcg was how much effort went into the whole design of the card including the texture, it wouldn't seem off if they hadn't set the bar so high in previous sets. That being said, the chase cards in the set still look insane all around and I'm still going to be opening more 🤣
@JigglyBruvCards I think my point was more that the texture doesn't feel like it adds anything to me. The few sps I've pulled have felt intrusive to the art when it's heavily outlined and textured. As a collector item I guess that's fine. But even if it's graded or in a binder for keeping imo you can't really appreciate any kind of texturing without removing it from the sleeve. And as a game piece I don't notice
i think because of prb having jolly rodger fils and alt arts it kind of spoiled us now most other packs would feel lack luster in comparison to prb set
I opened a Op 08 last week and the first pack i opened was the Silver Reliegh manga haha, the rest of the box for sure felt like a letdown after first packing it hahaha
It was deffo legit, but the lighting we had setup made them appear flatter than they really were. We looked at them in different lighting afterwards, and a lot of them did look a lot better. I do think as a whole, though, the lower tier alts do have less texture and foiling than previous sets

Yeah, crazy choice from bandai especially on an anniversary set! Hopefully it goes back to normal in op10
