At the Seattle Boat Show 2022, we got a chance to walk through the new Cutwater C288. Martin goes through the entire boat with ED, who is waiting for his Cutwater C288 to be delivered in March - April timeframe. This is the first time he sees the boat in person. Cutwater boats have a great lineup at the show this year.
Both Cutwater and Ranger Tug boats are built under the same company Fluid Motion. Could you imagine cruising Puget Sound or cruising the San Juan Islands in a Ranger Tug or Cutwater boat?
    Thanks for watching

Hey, a cameo! Good to see you at the show Martin.
A 10-foot beam should be a big upgrade in stability from the C28. I will be interested to see how it performs.

It was great meeting you as well. I really like that 10' beam and the twin Yamaha 250's. They had the C288 in the water last week at the Anacortes boat show. I tried talking Bellingham Yachts into going out for a test ride. He asked if I was ready to trade in my tug (he recognized me). Of course, that ain't happening... Lol...

Thank you very much for this walk through. We are excited about our 288-C LE. Great tip about using a tablet/cell to sync up the chart plotter!

Love your videos! Check out the video at 13:13. My son and I walk on the boat. I thought I recognized you but was hard to tell with masks on. I’ve been eyeing the ranger tugs for a while, but some of those cutwaters are pretty nice.

The Cutwaters are nice boats. RT and Cutwater are both made by Fluid Motion so they share a lot of similarities. I do remember seeing you and your son on the boat.

    Good report.
Does Ranger Tug still offer the inboard diesel on the R27 or R29?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  2 года назад

The Cutwater C28 with the inboard diesel has been discontinued. The R27 (classic) with the diesel inboard also has been discontinued. The R29 is still offered today with an inboard diesel. (The Volvo Penta D4, 320HP inboard diesel).

I was thinking about checking out the 288 at the boat show, maybe this weekend. I'm happy with my 28, not sure about the price on that 288 and I think I would have done a few things differently.

The C288 is more expensive. I'm sure it's the doubling of the Yamaha's that add quite a bit of cost. I would have preferred digital electric steering, with joystick control. But the engines are too close to each other to facilitate independent steering. But you should still be able to split the throttle to turn the boat for docking.

Hi there! How do you like Cutwater 288 so far? I would appreciate your sincere feedback. Thanks in advance 🙏

I love the power of the twin Yamaha F250's on the C288. I'm still trying to get myself a ride on a C288. I've driven the Cutwater 32 with twin Yamaha F300's and suspect that the C288 will offer similar performance.

it's a sportier version of ranger tug.

    • @seikibrian8641

And the current Ranger Tugs are "sportier versions," too. The R-31 is the sole survivor of the classic Ranger Tugs designs. I jokingly call the new-design Ranger Tugs "Cutrangers."

I just found this out talking with someone who works for Ranger Tug. The RT31 is currently their longest standing boat that hasn't had a design change, going on 10 years now.

It was the Seattle boat show. We shouldn't need them next year for the show.
