Yes Renny , lovely place . I'm glad you enjoyed the video and hope it helps you catch more fish this summer . The important things are feeding just a few pellets really regularly, and sneaking your float back into the feed on a nice tight/straight line so the bites are easier to hit . Enjoy yourselves .

I have fished this in the winter, in wind and rain and it works surprisingly well, get rid of all that pellet waggler fluff, put a good traditional bodied waggler on, like the ones Ian Lewis makes, and sink your line, same principle feeding but a little less and leave the bait out longer.

Great vid, my favourite method of fishing busy and hectic on a good day, having tried 10,11 and 12 ft rods I prefer a 12 footer, they feel a lot softer in the tip which I prefer, I do only carry one rod for everything and the 11 foot rods are a more specialist big fish tool, maybe it's because I grew up fishing a 13 ft float/match rod. You will go through some catapult elastic using this method.
Im the same i always use the Maxima line for my carp fishing, went over to the korda, was not happy with it so went back to the cameleon, 12lb, great video, keep telling my younger son about feeding little but often, think this will make him see what i mean to catch more carp,
keith easton iv Just started going to lindhome after being a river angler for 40 years and the information that you gave was invaluable. I was a good friend of Paul Easton you’re cousin I miss him a lot also a top man....
Yes, Paul was a great guy to have in the family, sadly we didn't fish together often, but that was my loss entirely, I see that clearly underlined by men such as yourself who always speak so highly of him. Towards the end of his illness he would come to Messingham to sit with me a while and we shared ideas and laughs. Lovely man and a benchmark in how to conduct yourself, friendly and honest. Thanks for referring to Paul. Bless him and all his mates.
Great video Keith, really enjoyed it. I've never chucked a pellet out on a wag before, but I'd love to have a go so I'll put it on my to do list this summer :)
A draw in the middle few pegs of any lake is a big help as this keeps the peg boundaries clear to all . Once a carp is hooked and has swam across the next peg it's down to a gentleman's agreement to keep things right . It's usually not a problem . Fall outs can happen but are rare .
What an excellent video... never fished the pellet waggler.. Thank you for spending time doing the video and explaining your method and what your using. I'm off too ebay to get myself one of those cadence reels and a pellet waggler rod (looking at the drennans)
Yes mate still got one, I last used it on a national on the boston drains. It connected to your cupping kit and floated out. I put a kilo of loose in in one go and caught skimmers tight over. I remember a southern chap next to me laughing when I sent it out. He bought it off me after the match.. I laughed so much.
Fantastic video keith a wealth of information on the pellet wagglers video is so well made them wagglers your using with the lead weight you have added to the bottom of them where can i buy them.Alien
Hi Terry , I like innovation and love to see anglers developing items to catch more fish . Good luck with these floats , I'd like though to point out to anyone reading this that these are nothing to do with me in any way . Regards . Keith .
Hi, really enjoyed watching. Quite a newbie here, what line were you using 0.2mm? 3g loaded waggler? Do you load the bait directly on to the hook or on to some kind of elastic adjacent to the hook? Thank you!
Hi Bob . The main line is 3lb maxima and the hook length is 0.14 or 0.16 diameter which is a bit thinner than the maxima . The pellet is attached on a micro rubber band and the hook was a size 18 eyed .
Jasper Mol , hello . The secret is to keep the line direct and tight , if you master that they will bolt and many will hook themselves . If you watch the vid you will notice I'm taking one turn back regularly . Conditions were perfect on the day and this seemed to help . The diameter of reel line you use is very important , I used 3lb maxima and was able to keep everything tight to the float , when the carp took the bait they felt the rod tip not the float . Hope this helps , tight lines mate .
All depends on level and colour, would probably say not for very cold days to be honest. There are rivers and canals where hemp works in the cold though so you never know....
At hayfield in particular I'd say yes without doubt . It changes in a few ways though , it tends to be a steadier match both feeding and the regularity of casts are greatly reduced but it's still the winning method here . Bigger wagglers fished 6 to 8 feet deep is the game . Bare in mind the depth of water on hayfield a suspended pellet or small boilie scores very well . Enjoy the rest of the summer !
Hi Julian . Picking a bait that isn't susceptible to small fish like roach is a good way to begin . Hard pellets are less likely to attract these and a very regular trickle of these will often get a response from any carp in the area . Then it's a case of fishing off the bottom which will make your hook bait stand out . Once you have more than 3 or 4 in your swim it's a case of making them compete against each other for what should be never enough bait . 4 or 5 6mm or 8mm pellets fed twice a minute would be a good starting point . Feel free to ask for more help , but that's the nuts and bolts of it . Tight lines fella .
Dubze , I must have had some from every maker in Europe. Some types crack easily and are useless and others dont . Trial and error really , I've spent 9 years at it . I dont think it can be imported now . I have a stock but I dont think it can be bought these days .
Hi seb , just spotted this and wanted to point out that this video features the number 2. First small hooks and lighter lines it's perfect. Open water with no snags to speak of the rod is ideal . Very forgiving and light . The number 3 is a slightly more powerful version and is more suitable for heavier lines and stronger terminal tackle where a bit of pulling is likely to be needed . We did a video last month on this rod at messingham . Pellet waggler to an island I believe . Hope this helps . Tight lines mate .
Hi Dave , I've got to be honest and say I've not seen the #2 11 ft feeder . I believe Stephen Whitfield had some input with the rod . If you give him a buzz on Facebook he will be able to put you on the right track . It was designed for close to mid range Bream fishing with light lines in mind . The feedback I've seen about it is very good and I'll be treating myself to one in the new year . Hope this helps Dave . Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year .
Hello Baldrick ... Like that haa, yes this is the number 2 which is super in open water with relatively light lines . We have another video on the Waggler using the number 3 version which is more punchy and is great for getting them away from reeds or beds of Lilly's. Tight lines , and keep the plans coming ..
Hello , I'm not convinced fish have the same concept of colour as we do. I believe they see shades of black and white. I'm not sure of it but am sure they are undesturbed by the green foam on the floats . The key is feeding and dressing your waggler into the water as neatly as possible , giving you a tight line . It also makes the float sit up very quickly and these two things along with good feeding are the difference between good and great . Enjoy your fishing with the lad . All the best .
If possible I use screttins pellet as they sink slightly slower, however much of the time you have to use the fishery pellet which is often coppens. A top tip.. If you ever come across a batch of pellets that need oiling to sink then keep some aside for hook pellets. These will sink very slowly and may catch a few extra fish. Also, a wafter is worth a go, but be careful to check it sinks or you may be fishing floating bait which is widely banned. Tight lines

Hi Chris, best advice I can offer is to try 4lb maxima as reel line, this will help with your casting accuracy and also will allow you to use a smaller waggler which will catch you more fish. Hook lengths are another story, depending on where you're fishing but for a starting point try some 0.16 line to a size 16 guru lwg hook. With a 6mm pellet, or a 14 lwg hook for 8mm pellets. See how you get on with that. You will be light enough to fish comfortably and strong enough to land all sizes of carp. It will also be a good angling test for you're technique as mistakes whist playing fish will result in losses, which in turn you will learn from and quickly improve with. You'll also enjoy the sporting battle more, which is all part of it. Tight lines pal.
