Had 93 talon TSI gutted, built, huge Garrett turbo ,272 hks cams, etc. 520 wheel at 22 psi pump gas. Race 25 psi near 600. Sold it.😭 Fastest car I've ever been in.

I own a 97 3kgt base, these really are great cars but require a lot of patience working on. Im honestly glad I own the simplest version, just for ease of maintenence and daily-ability. May not be fast but car sure is pretty and still a fun drive. Fast is what my 3g eclipse rs is gonna be. Prepping to add the evo8 turbo system to it now.
The reason for it because when you are dealing with rewiring fuel I always make sure that my wiring don't get in contact with fuel which will cause arching meaning detonation. With my experience I used my volt meter in testing fuel injectors and wiring so what I could tell you that to do is your fuse relay away from the fuel pump plus get long heat shrink to cover the wires so that it won't be spread apart on the fuel pump. If you got a volt meter start to test the wiring to make sure you don't put any default wiring while the car is still operating. One more thing start testing your alternator and fuel injectors

Not sure if you’ve ever heard of BG Ethanol fuel system defender and drier but I usually try and put a bottle in my evo 8 every oil change to help with e85 affects on your fuel system. Run e85 all year long in Ohio. Put my evo away in the winter and put this in my fuel tank before since it sits for quite awhile during the winter. Start it up maybe once a month in the winter and never have any problems with cold starts.

yeah those fuel lines can be such a dam pain wished they had come up with a better idea in where the connections where located at.

What are the specifications of the wheels of your Evo and Eclipse?
At least the car is working but with the fuse relay you need to be hook up away from the fuel pump or the rewiring need to be done differently with in precaution from the fuel pump

What are you thinking about selling again? I am having the same fuel pump troubles with my 1996 VR4 and found several assembles but they look worse than mine and $300. Who knows if they even work.
Can you tell me the name of those wheels and if you think that I can fit them on a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant
They’re Enkei nt03 and you can fit them just make sure you get the right size

Previous owner tried fitting a fuel pump from another car with just zipped ties and rubber hoses, and messed up the assembly :|
Sure it started the car and got it going but it ran terrible and misfired when giving more than 25% of gas, and only would start again if you started it up before 5 min. If not it would stall every time you would try starting it until you either let the engine cool down(wasn’t overheating) or kept retrying until finally after maybe 35 try’s would start but BARELY ran, had to finesse the clutch and gas since it barely had any power after that. It Made it very frustrating to take anywhere since I could only go and be at a place for either 5 min or an Hour (really only started when cold) and it was my only car. Finally bought the whole fuel pump assembly with the fuel pump from a junk yard one for only 20$ and dropped it in. The car never ran better and pulls hard AF I was super happy that it finally had all the power I knew it had in it. And especially a relief to finally be able to go and leave somewhere whenever I wanted without it not starting. I previously thought it was the maf, or TPS, or spark plugs, and everyone told me I had a vacuum leak even though I replaced all the vacuum lines and those parts as-well
I get that feeling of relief when you finally fix an issue. Have to do a boost leak test on this thing to see how it pulls under boost
