Also if you haven t already. Upgrade your crossover pipe that connects your 2 fuel rails together. The OEM is pretty tiny and has unnecessary bends in it.
@@MiguelDsm its a quick easy mod doesnt seem to make THHAT much of a difference but should keep the rear bank from running out of fuel as you mod it.. And it looks cool.
Check your spark plugs to see how they look to validate if the engine is running as intended (your plugs can tell you a lot). Also, verify that each plug is gapped correctly and that the proper heat range plugs are being used. Your plug gap may be too wide causing the spark to be blown out under boost. Some vehicles run better with certain brand plugs (NGK, etc). I finally stopped using the cheap parts store gapping tool and purchased some feeler gauges to set the gap correctly. Good luck Sir.
This is what I came in the comments to say. If you haven’t changed or checked gap on plugs you could be experiencing spark blow out. Stutter/skipping /missing only under boost suggest spark issue.
@@boostinturbskee5385 I had this issue with my 97 GS-T Spyder. I could hear it misfiring so I checked my plugs and they were gapped excessively. Re-gapped them and it now runs like a Champ. Miguel, I also had the Walbro 255 pump installed and it wined way too much for me. I ditched it and got a DW (deitshwerks) fuel pump and it’s quiet as a mouse now.

Check spark plug gap, I run NGK coppers gaped at .028 Inspect ECU for leaking Capacitors. Invest in a 3SX boost leak tester. If for some reason you do want to replace your fuel pump I would suggest a Walbro 450 so you will be E85 ready when the time comes, you can still run pump gas but you have the flexibility. To be honest if you were having a fuel issue it could be the fuel pump is weak/defective. You still needed a FPR so don't take that as a bad diagnosis. Checking plug gap is free, the 3SX boost leak tester is a must for this platform. The last thing I would replace is the Fuel pump. I would replace it with a Genuine Walbro 450 Beware of fakes. You have a very nice and clear ride! Good luck and keep us updated!
I used that type of fuel injector cleaner on my car, gives it a smoother idle, less rough idling. Run the car for a couple days see the difference. @@MiguelDsm Like was said the most common ecu failure is the Capacitors going bad. It seems to idle and drive fine, so I doubt that's the issue, but checking the condition of the caps is a great baseline. Typically when the caps fail the car will have trouble starting, or it will misfire from idle, not accelerate, or just plain not stay running once it starts. There are so many plausible causes for misfires, but usually if its only on boost, it is caused by either a lean condition, be it by tuning or a failing component, or a plug gap wider than .028 on big turbos and higher boost than stock (which is only about 10.9psi on 1rst gen cars, and around 13psi on 2nd gen cars). Check for spark leaks on the plug wires too, to eliminate that as a possibility. Its easy to do, just wait till its night pop the hood and start the car. @@red_dragonracingsilvereclipes Eh, the manuals not quite that accurate on that if im honest.... while i pulled the engine on mine because i addressed everything, i could have done most of the seals with it in the car. I did the turbos, swapped on tubular headers, clutch, rear main, and all of the aforementioned gaskets all at the same time, so pulling the engine trans and transfer case was the only prudent thing to do. Its really not all that bad, I used an engine hoist on mine, so I'm not sure where that comes from. All you have to do is pull the hood. 4 bolts and hoist away, no biggie. The most annoying thing to me was the intake manifold pull to access the rear plugs, but 3SX has a shorty manifold that will eliminate that issue.
