My dad had a 3000gt sl and my grandpa had the vr4. I've been searching for the perfect 3000 for myself, I've been searching for over a year now. Can't wait!!!!!
Best of luck with the move! I’m excited that good changes are happening for you! Keep the awesome content coming. And just for futur reference for you, when it comes to aftermarket radio harness’s yellow is always constant and red is always accessory. Took me a minute to commit that to memory when I moved into the car audio industry.
I'm gonna go give Ben a follow when this video is over. I've ran into a few great evo guys hopefully you will too. Your making me want 3000GT though. Great video as always bro! Keep it up.
The stock boost gauge calculates boost based on airflow and engine rpm. If you do mods which increase airflow like intake and exhaust that gauge will be inaccurate because it's just looking up a table.
i know when i did speed density i had to have the IAT and the map sensor and depending on how much boost your shooting for means you may need to get a three bar or four bar map sensor if shooting for high boost.
Check the spade connector at the oil pressure switch. They like to get loose, should solve your oil pressure gauge problem. It will be on driver's side, then check the connector in the engine bay(Blue connector to the left of intake manifold/plenum) unplug it and check for corrosion.
@@MiguelDsm No problem. Would be good to know if that was the issue. The stock oil pressure gauge isn't the greatest, so aftermarket is a better upgrade. Keep pumping out the great content!
Guess spark plug wires are the theme for this week with 3000gt owners. Got a bad batch on mine and was causing a p0300 random misfire and wouldnt run. Swapped them out and new plugs and she running good again. Just need to reseal the oil pan and tune it.
@@MiguelDsm nah its not and yours is a bit more difficult than mine to get off. You should still have the stays on the back side of it connecting it to the heads, the egr valve. Mine is pretty much just the the throttle cable the little intake pipe and the bolts holding the top half to the bottom. 5minutes and its off.
Run some 450cc injectors and rewire your fuel pump ( i can’t remember if you already did that) you could easily run 12-15 psi, as long as you have a way to monitor knock .. amazing content bro
That sick ass intercooler setup is so wasted on stock 9b turbos haha. My old VR-4 had fully forged internals and blueprinted and ported heads...all on a basically stock system (I wouldn't even call it full on BPU). The ex-owner owned a machine engine shop and wanted it to eventually be a track car, but it basically put out 350ish hp even though the internals could handle 1000. 18-25yr old me enjoyed having it though. Plenty of power to keep me happy, when it was actually running..
Stock injectors are 360cc. Stock evo injectors are 580cc. Keep in mind, 6 evo injectors will flow enough fuel for 50% more power than what an evo can make on stock injectors. So the evo injectors are a decent upgrade. E85 does need more fuel though for the same power
When I first saw you cut the yellow wire I was like why is he running it off a 12v constant? That car is probably one of the nicest cars.. When you're working under a Skyline and nobody notices the Skyline lol you're winning...
Either fill the tank to the brim or let it run so the fuel light comes on, then pull off the fuel gauge needle and set it to the last or first marker as appropriate. Always trust the low fuel light bro, once thats on solid you have about 20 miles of reserve at sensible driving.
These heavy cars aren't fun to push lol. The stock boost pressure for second gens is 12psi so your a little low. The stock boost gauge doesn't even really measure boost, it gets it's reading from the maf sensor so it's pretty useless. Did you ever pressure test for leaks?
There's a formula you convert your injector size to lbs instead of cc then you multiply that injector lb number by 14.7 (stoiciometric of gasoline). If I were you just save yourself time and get yourself 1000 cc injectors and a hellcat pump.
The stock boost gauge is not accurate at all. It is based on what the ecu "thinks" boost is instead of reading from a vacuum line. About 9-11 psi is the normal boost level for stock based on conditions. Happy you continue to get this car improving, but sorry you ran out of gas! That is never fun. As for speed density, I would maybe suggest looking into other methods unless you want to go standalone immediately. I get the MAF is a restrictor and there are plenty of benefits from speed density, but there are some other simplier methods like an MAF Translator with larger GM MAF, ARC-2, some older school methods of tuning but proven with this platform. Sorry wasn't trying to make a plug. Keep up the good work brother!
@@MiguelDsm no problem! I suggest reaching out to bboyalan aka BTS Tuned. He is in SD I believe and he knows how to build/tune these cars properly. He will set you in the right direction.

nice long day and now I get to relax and watch one of my favorite youtubers
Appreciate you fam 🤙🏼

Congarts on the new garage. Love the builds, can't wait to see what's to come in the future.
congrats on the new house! well deserved brother!

Always nice to have people like that in the community. Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
Congrats on the move! Change is tough. At least one constant in life is watching one of your cars break down in the middle of the street 😂
LOL true
The stock boost gauge calculates boost based on airflow and engine rpm. If you do mods which increase airflow like intake and exhaust that gauge will be inaccurate because it's just looking up a table.
Good to know, thanks!
Yeah, it's useless if you do literally any form of modification or have any pre-turbo leaks.
Congratulation on the move bro and great video 💯💯💯💯
Thanks mang! 🤙🏼
Can't wait to see the new garage!! Get a aem wideband asap tho for sure!
Beautiful!
Where did you get the carbon fibre trims?
i know when i did speed density i had to have the IAT and the map sensor and depending on how much boost your shooting for means you may need to get a three bar or four bar map sensor if shooting for high boost.
Might just go with a 4 bar in case I upgrade for bigger power later
I thought something was wrong till you filled it with gas lol but nice install. Glad someone was nice enough to send you a boost gauge.
Something is still wrong in the back with the fuel pump though. I’ll figure it out. Thanks for watching man!
If I'm not wrong someone sent him the wires and he bought the boost gauge.

Thanks for the insight. I’m going to end up replacing that one with a water temp gauge though

Mine has the EGR deleted so it’s slightly easier but still annoying for some spark plugs and wires

Isn’t that what the stock injectors are at already? Fuel pump is also currently hot wired. Thanks for the compliment man!

@@MiguelDsm for how much power?
It’s still on stock turbos so not really looking for anything high
@@MiguelDsm stock turbos are terrible. You can buy a set of billet 15gs. Can make 500whp and makes a huge difference
