Shane, you are THE best. Eventually, I want to buy your complete flexibility programme because I am really serious about getting fit. I am almost 66 years old, and I am really determined. I have been stretching now for more than 4 months and I have got so, so much out of it. Finding your channel has been just about THE BEST thing that ever happened for me. Thank you so very much Shane.

Good question. It can, yes. However with practice you can get to it eventually.

i mean, every video i watch about stretching, it seemed for ppl who already doing it for a year.
If someone is looking for stretching, theres much more going on. To get into that position will take half of a year for average person

Very few things in life are black or white. You might be able to experiment with these stretches (slowly and mindfully). If you feel no pain, you can gradually improve. Just don't force anything and listen to your body.

I had hip labral tear surgery a year ago and I can’t touch my toes without my mid back bending. I also can’t bring my knee all the way to my chest.

@@GotROM Thanks so much for replying!
Over the past year I kind of lost my good habit of going to the gym, and am now starting up again and building back my strength, primarily in the big multi-joint lifts. I have "adequate" flexibility for my current weightlifting needs, but like most people I spend way too much time sitting, and as I age need to focus more on maintaining and increasing lower body flexibility. My hammies are ok, but calves and ankles need some work.
The straight-forward and general type of instruction in this current video is of great use for someone like me, both as a guide for some easily do-able stretches, and as an inspiration.
The value of your videos as inspiration and as a gentle reminder is something I hope you're aware of! 🙂

Hi Motivational Moxie! It can be because of certain lifestyle factors and it is not uncommon. A consistent mobility and stretching routine will help get you to this stretch.
