A war was once fought to assure laws, rules, regulations, taxation which affected us were ONLY to be implemented by our ELECTED representatives not some appointee who checked a magic check box. AT MOST the ONLY thing any regulatory agency should be allowed to do is to make a recommendation to our ELECTED representatives and only those representatives should be allowed to vote yes/no AND ultimately face the voters for those votes. To allow anyone else to create rules, regulations which carry the same impact as laws means our founders fought for nothing.
So true Mike - the problem is no-one fights back any more against your own home-grown evil - those with totalitarian leanings will NOT go away, it is always an on-going battle.
A few good and "nice" politicians are enough to keep up the pretense that there is still a two-party system left there; the Constitution is no longer abided by, and the people have no idea of civics or of Self Rule anymore - the people will not stand up and they also do not back good politicians - one man cannot fight the mob.

Mr. Kennedy is the shining example of what an elected official is supposed to be. The way he carries himself and the way he speaks to people is nothing but class. He gets his point across without grand gestures or being boisterous and obnoxious. I wish he would run for president.

In the 80s we could drive on a permit as long as there was a licened driver in the car, no matter their age.
