Can I just say how much I LOVE that you have both k-pop and Fleetwood Mac on the walls lol, I listen to both and I always feel like my music taste is fighting itself
I’ve slowly extricated myself from the thrift scene, but even at my deepest point, Home Depot was the best option for the shelf situation. You just need to get a leveler if you’re bad at eyeballing or don’t have a point of reference. There is an opportunity to be different with the L-shaped shelving brackets you land on! It’s a skill worth developing.
If you have Habitat for Humanity ReStores around you that's a great option! Every time I've been in one they're full of shelving and smaller hardware besides the giant future pieces
If you have a ReStore in your area I’d totally recommend trying that for shelves. Whenever I’ve been they tend to have more of that kind of stuff (or at least the brackets for hanging shelves, and wood bits separately)
I forget where i douns the tip but my fav way to remove labels from anything is diah soap. I soak the item in soapy water for 24hrs, and the label washes right off. A light scrubbing takes care of any stubborn residue as well.
Love all the thrifting content, I’ve just moved house and old housemates owned a lot of the stuff so charity shops are what I’m all about rn! I got a matching set of 6 prosecco glasses for £1.50 and i wouldn’t have thought to look for them secondhand without ur vids!!!
you should make a paste of baking soda and oil and use it to take off the leftover residue on your bottle. just apply it and leave it for like idk 5ish minutes and then it should come right off!! I've used this method for ages and it's the best way to remove labels and glue
omg i had no idea you were a shawol/key fan!! i'm very obsessed with your bad love poster. it's always so exciting to unexpectedly see a fellow shinee fan!
If you don’t want a plant to vine, just don’t buy a vining plant 😂😢. Get a peace lily instead. I think that would really accomplish the bushy vibe you’re wanting. And depending on the type of fertilizer you use, it may or may not bloom. So you could just have a bushy green plant if you’re not a fan of the white flowery bits.
one thing that could help putting stuff on the wall is start in a corner. or at a center point and branch out from there. also grid ur items. where u pit them close but leaving a little bit of space inbetween. and also. pit up prints and art work that youve had for ages. movie stubs old pictites. it will feell more natural if u use stuff youve had for ages and not just stuff u boight day of :)
That heart is cute! You could totally zip tie the handle to the heart & if its a red zip tie it'll just blend in! Love thrifting! Its good to be picky, too.
thats a good idea but unfortunately the handle was not lined up with the heart well & i didnt feel like bending it into place lol maybe it woulda been a better way tho
Idk if you’re open to it but a really easy way to look for specific things secondhand is FB marketplace!!! I get so much of my stuff for my apartment on there.
The shelf shortage is a thing at thrift stores in the east bay, too. Looked for months at Goodwill, Savers, EcoThrift, Salvation Army, etc. out here. Ended up getting some secondhand shelves from Etsy but that's pricier than buying new. Maybe Etsyers are grabbing all the thrift store ones. 🤔
I would love to see plant content on your channel. Plants are great because they are the gift that keeps giving! I visited a friend this past weekend and she must have given me 20 different cuttings to propagate
I use coconut oil to remove sticker residue from containers. Just let it sit on there for a while, (I usually leave it overnight, but a couple hours might work fine), then I wipe it off with a paper towel.
You’re videos are so relaxing and entertaining but also I get so many good tips and recipes so it’s helpful af. Like I’m totally gonna grow my own green onions now
not sure if this is helpful but i feel like i have lots more luck finding room decor in the antique stores in old town clovis rather than at the thrift stores! this could also be because i tend toward a vintage-y vibe though
i support the desire to thrift but a couple shelf brackets and a piece of wood would be pretty inexpensive at your local hardware store! Most stores will even cut the wood to size for you.
I haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen some recipes where they add chocolate at the end (when it comes out of the oven) of making granola so it melts and makes clumps
I haven’t thrifts in Fresno since the 80s but I’ve found some really cool vintage stuff at thrift stores downtown and the Salvation Army on Clovis Ave in the downtown area. Don’t know if any of them are there anymore or if they have shelves 😆
You thrifted some really good stuff! I love your creative ideas on how you might use some of it :). Please be careful - using something full of harsh chemicals like nail polish remover on a plastic bottle that you're putting a food product in is not a safe idea!
Love the different content! Would love more plant content from a fellow plant parent! 😂❤
When I saw that Key poster I legit had to pause the video bc I was so in shock. Emily a SHAWOL!?!?! That’s true icon behavior 🫡
That desk is enviably awesome and I love the light switch outlet cover!!

eucalyptus oil works so well for removing sticky residues !
ahhh the big key poster is so cool!!

I love making coffee syrup with orange peels! It’s great by itself and with chocolate sauce
THE KEY POSTER THAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR ROOM OMG
If you have Habitat for Humanity ReStores around you that's a great option! Every time I've been in one they're full of shelving and smaller hardware besides the giant future pieces
That basket thing you have hooks onto the inside of a cabinet it usually comes with the hooks
maybe you could hang the bmo charm or something from the heart, like hook it onto the inside of the top of the heart or something!
If you have a ReStore in your area I’d totally recommend trying that for shelves. Whenever I’ve been they tend to have more of that kind of stuff (or at least the brackets for hanging shelves, and wood bits separately)

I was just going to write thatn Works like a charm. It feels like it shouldn't, but it works on the most annoying sticky residue.
You can also add vanilla to your simple syrup. Id used your reg vegan sugar rather than brown sugar.
No bc room stuff so hard to thrift!! I spent soooo much time thrifting when I moved but ended up having to buy more things new than I hoped for :/
If you flip the heart the other way, you can use it to hang your dangling earrings!!
Your videos are so calming! It’s so nice to watch when I’m feeling alone bc you’re such nice company to have ❤
loved this video!! decorating a bedroom is so fun :)
omg i had no idea you were a shawol/key fan!! i'm very obsessed with your bad love poster. it's always so exciting to unexpectedly see a fellow shinee fan!
same! i had no idea she liked kpop but was doubly happy when it was shinee
same !!! its so cool
Tbh would love to hear your kpop interests. Could just be casually like while decorating or while you’re doing some other task

Cleansing oil for your face works amazing for taking off sticker residue!

Plants are great because they are the gift that keeps giving!
I visited a friend this past weekend and she must have given me 20 different cuttings to propagate
You should check to see if you have Habitat for Humanity thrift stores in your area, they will definitely have shelves there.
Aww love a thrift haul moment

What a good sponsorship! 🎉 your desk set up looks great
Your Baltic blue is so pretty!! I would love some plants videos too from a fellow plant mom 😊
Here for the y2k resurrgance. Would love to get to experience it again as a 30something. Also you could stop at 5 or 6 stores.... or just ONE *pose*
The heart basket/shelf idea is cute. You could put a tealight in there.
Hi Emily and little Maple!!! Love that desk and would love seeing more plant stuff!! Always love seeing Maple too!!!
Paint the paper clips!
I'm starting a Maple fan club.
I did a big manifestation board for my wall on a reused canvas board I glued cutouts from magazines
You’re videos are so relaxing and entertaining but also I get so many good tips and recipes so it’s helpful af. Like I’m totally gonna grow my own green onions now
You can soak the bottle in soapy water and those are both great ideas ie making your own sweetener and reusing the bottle! !
Re: shelves
If you have a habitat for humanity resell store in your area, you might be able to find shelves there!
not sure if this is helpful but i feel like i have lots more luck finding room decor in the antique stores in old town clovis rather than at the thrift stores! this could also be because i tend toward a vintage-y vibe though

Making shelves from pallets could be a good alternative if you have access to a few tools 😊
I haven’t thrifts in Fresno since the 80s but I’ve found some really cool vintage stuff at thrift stores downtown and the Salvation Army on Clovis Ave in the downtown area. Don’t know if any of them are there anymore or if they have shelves 😆
