I love seeing your son get excited about stuff, but sometimes it's nice to have a calm voice. Good job dad
I doubt I'll ever dabble in any blacksmithing, but Dad Royer and Kyle Royer do such an incredible job of giving me access to the beautiful world they work in. There's such simplistic beauty in a knife for a single purpose, that took days to make and will last a life time!
Thanks for all your hard work!!
Kyle's dad has an amazingly soothing voice , great narrator.
For best results when making a hamon, submerge the blade parallel with the quenching medium. And with W2 you can use water. Your hamon will have more contrast. Still a beautiful piece of work.
Beautiful chopper Dad. Amazing how that edge just flexed over that rod. Expert work.
Great job on the editing work Josh. Your lighting placement is refining as well.
Go Team Royer!
Gotta love Dad content! Yet another a beautiful piece from the Royer clan!
Looks great, love the custom alloy.
That is a beefy looking chopper! I like the rough/finished look. That's a good looking knife- great job!
I love dads videos its so much chill to watch him making his own style of knives
Love your videos sir! Thank you for sharing them
Dad's voice is very warm and relaxing
Excellent work. I enjoy both your and your son's videos.
Dad's got a good voice for narration. What a fun build.
Amazing knife, loved the copper bolster and the forged Finnish on the blade. Keep up the good work!
Awesome chopper Dad, great job!
Watch out Kyle..your dad's getting pretty darn professional 👌.....It's amazing to see that bolth of kyle and dads knives all have the same Royer look but also different in their own style....good job on the editing as usual Josh!
Thanks!! ~Josh
How do y'all only have 306K Subscribers??? I was expecting to see at least a million Subscribers... I'm confused! Y'all are helping this community more than anyone I can think of. Y'all give so much information and I definitely appreciate it
That is a super clean brute, I really like that look. I usually leave a lot more forge scale intact when I do brute. May have to try a cleaner look on one now.
Great job Jeff! Beautiful work!
My favorite channel by far. Love the content you guys make!
Sweet knife you made there pops
Dad. You said "a lot of first for me", but the way this looks seems like you've been doing this forever. Kyle creates art while you create functional art. Lucky client for sure!
Really really nice!!
I’ve been wanting to make something like that for a buddy… he grills all the time!
Great looking blade!!👏🔥👍
Amazing ! I really love this look.
Nicely done. The voice over is awsome. Kinda reminds me of some AM radio dj for cool jazz
We are here spinning your favorite back alley blues all night long.
Cheers my friend
Dad

Dad

Love the dad videos
The kind of knife im dreaming of. But impossible to have. Good Job. Great work.
Awesome job, mate!
Awesome job, sir 😊
The dies push the steel out in one direction, and that's what makes it beautiful!
First time I see your dad forge something. Nice.
Hey thanks my friend
Dad
Beautiful, love the look. Great job. Have a great Fourth of July holiday!!!
Oh, I like that chopper, mate. Beautiful and functional.

Nice work Dad hope you all have a great 4th
Amazing work...i love it
Hey thanks keskas
Glad you’re here
Dad
Looks neat. I really wanted to see it cutting a steak though!
Hey! Dad showing Kyle how it's done!! Lol 😆 🤣 😂...That's a bada** blade! Chop steak then Bluefin Tuna! Well done pop!!
A great looking chopper, made with the usual Royer precision, top job, enjoyed the whole video. The handle material you have been using of late is very appealing, that burl timber really adds that something extra to the finished product, is it a stabilised material? Looks great 👍. Regards from Down Under .
Oh yeah awesome knife Dad👍
Hey thanks Jay
Dad
That's got a real Asian look to it. Love this style of kitchen tool. Excellent work Dad.
No Metamucil break? 👍 😃
Awesome chopper Dad!! 🔪
Dundee would be impressed with that knoife.
Nice, imagine what it would be like in 15 minutes! just kidding ;-) but very nice and again good audio coverage. That knife reminded me of those big Tuna knives, very wide thin edged blades. Keep up the videos and thanks for posting!
Nice great work
Fantastic
Nailed it dad
Thanks
Good job!
Kudos to Dad!! That is a great looking chopper! Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions of that monster, ie; width and thickness?? Hard to tell in the video, I mean it is obviously large, but.....how large? Thanks.
Great work dad! Did the differential hardening leave an attractive hamon?
Looking good!
Where do you guys get your W2 from?
10 seconds I'm liking your video thanks
beautiful
Sweet Jeff 👊🏻
Safe & Happy 4th everyone _
Craftsmanship runs in your families veins...nice job!
Very Cool!
Thanks Zato
Dad
Would have loved for you to etch the blade and reveal the hamon you put in with the clay. Beautiful blade nonetheless. Great job.
How much for one of those choppers Dad?? Love the channel!!!!!!
Wow, well done. You have another sub.
Hey thanks my friend
Dad
Any chance you can share the metal make up recepie for your bolster?
Good stuff Dad!
Hey thanks Dustin
Have a good weekend my friend
Dad
@@KyleRoyerKnives you as well!
So what happened to the undulating hamon? Finished chopper looks great!
Beautiful chopper, Mr. Royer 😈👍🏼
Hey thanks Momo
Dad
I got a question: Kyle made a knife handle out of ivory. Well, I don't have ivory, but I do have bovine bones, but I don't really know how to protect them once they're made into scales. With wood you need to coat it with boiled linseed oil, how do I protect/conserve bone? Lacquer kinda doesn't work since it'll just rub off with use. Won't linseed oil make bone brittle?
Hey Marvin good question
Bone, molars, tusks… are always moving because of ambient moisture, temperature, barometric psi… even after stabilizing. Rocks move also. Raw unstabilized material would create many short and long term challenges. I can’t imagine coating with sealers would come near making the material stable. We are very careful with the handling of our handle material from the plain block to the finished sculpted product. Keep reaching up like the rest of us my friend. I think you are asking the right questions. We strive to do the same.

Dad
I would love to buy a knife like that or something similar do you guys offer this type of services
Email royerknifeworks@live.com for knife inquiry. :)
Noice. Although isn't it better to go with full/integral tang for a chopper?
do u have a link on buying knives from u
Hi Dad! So if u edget it in acid, would it show the hammon that you did? if so, why didnt use it as a feature?
the deep hammer marks that dont get ground to 5k grit or whatever, wont they rust?
Great question SBG
The whole knife is capable of rusting if not cared for properly. It’s High carbon steel. It will eventually patina when used on vegetables and meat.
Good question my friend
Dad
Wow… I would have loved to see more of the forging process, looks like a lot of steps got skipped?
These videos should be separate as a "Dad makes" playlist
We have a dad playlist, it’s on our channel somewhere. All the way on the bottom I think.
Show !!!
The best tools are carving tools. Fire, abrasives, and chemicals are the Trifecta of industry
That sure is pretty.

I keep getting baited and think it was a speed-forging project of 13 minutes in real time

Fantastic chopper. That's what she sai.....
I absolutely love your builds, and I can tell that your family is super tight. Very admirable! Having said that do you think we could do different background music it kinda sounds like a cross between porn and japanamay, in short it really does make me feel sad hollow and lonely if you want to try something different for old Jay that would be awesome ❤
Great work for 13 minutes
What happened to the hamon?
🇪🇨👍
Nice Serbian knife, Dad!
