That's the point isn't it? Loki is the only Movie villain to hang around for more than one movie, I thought some of the other villains were interesting, most of them have interesting motives and not bad for no reason (except the dark elf, he's just not a morning person!) but because we don't spend much time with them we don't get the same depth of personality we have with the TV villians
totally gonna miss Coulson and Roz! But I knew it would happen eventually. Do you think they'll be trapped on that Planet and Daisy and co. will have to Save them?
+carpos p if this show was on any other network, it definitely would have got cancelled before it took off. it just needed time to get on it's own two feet, i hope more people are starting to see how good it actually is.
this season has been really, really rewarding so far. I hope they allow events in this show to actually impact the rest of the MCU the way the Netflix series will.
+DJD10113 I totally thought it was a dream at first! I was like "No way are they gonna kill off an important character barely 3 minutes into the episode." And then... :-(Damn you, Ward. Damn you to HELL.
Probally one of my favorite episodes of Season 3. From Rosaline's unexpected death, Coulson on the warpath to kill Ward, Fitz and Simmons still growing :D i mean this episode was just so emotional and intense especially Coulson showing a side of him we have never seen before.
+Dennis de Graaf As heart-breaking as that would be, at least that'd clear the way for the Fitz-Simmons hook-up we've been waiting for for 2+ years. Unless of course they (the writers) are bastards (pretty much a given considering Rosalind's fate) and leave Fitz stranded in Inhuman Will's place. On a side note, and with no moral judgement, does anybody get the feeling Simmons is going for the harem ending?
That Coulson epic dive though :D but I'm kinda sad that Rosaline is dead now I really like them together, IMO the best scenes of AOS this season is when they are together
+StealthKun You think the trapped space dude is really the Hydra King that they're trying to bring back through? The thing messes with people's minds after all. Ward killing Rosaline was a bummer. Coulson - still the man.
Right from the jump this was one of the best episodes, I actually thought it was the mid season finale all the way until the last commercial break lol. Amazing episode!
The main call back to Buffy for me was when Tara got shot. Similar gun shot thru the window, the shock of figuring out what just happened and the result of Willow being driven crazy with grief.
I love how much strength they gave to Fitz through his love for Simmons. I love how sure he is of her, and the fact that he stopped hiding it anymore. I wish she ends up choosing him! Thank you for posting this video Charlie!
dammit, i don't know what to make of Ward, he deserves to die, as he killed Roz, Tortured bobbi, killed his parents and older brother, threw his younger brother down a well, tried to drown fitz/simmons, killed Koenig plus he F****** around Daisy, but i love the guy to much and don't want him to die, although he should for what he has done
The opening came completely out of left field and I felt like it really raised the stakes. A lot of phone throwing in this episode too, very relatable. Coulson's jump from the jet into the portal was awesome too, it's like he had a Captain America moment which was pretty cool. I'm wondering if any of the characters who went through the portal are going to come back or something happens to them. Another Inhuman on the horizon??
+Connor C i feel like they keep hinting at it, if you look back into the previous eps like when he told may he studied her moves and how garrett was taken by wards reflexes. I read how most of the characters on the show have now been put into the comics all but sky and ward the reason for sky was that she was actually already a known marvel character so it begs the question will ward be someone from the comics. Then again ward could easily be hellfire but i really cant see him being a massive villain as hellfire so hopefully he's not.
+Connor C I hadn't considered Taskmaster but that is a really good suggestion. From the moment we learned that Grant was Hydra I sort of hoped that he would turn out to be Hellfire in the end.
Really SHOCKED when Rosalind was killed - I loved the idea of a strong woman going toe-to-toe with Coulson regarding both; a power-struggle, and witty banter.
Thanks for uploading the video earlier than usual! I'm always thrilled to watch your review after the end of the episode. When are we going to see your setup? :) I'm curious to see what stuff you use!
Will is the inhuman or at least he will be that's how the inhuman gets back, Fitz will bring Will back but it will either have always been the inhuman using Simmons to get back or it will have taken Will's form between when Gemma was there and now
did anyone else notice the bloodied match book being the call to arms for coulson as his bloodied captain America cards were after his death to the avengers? I feel that was a really nice nod back to the first movie
I would love to see a whole segment on Fitz. Iain DeCastaeker is the strongest actor I have seen in any Marvel project and what I love about Fitz is the same thing I love about Steve Rodgers- they are both so committed to doing the right thing regardless of the cost.
this has nothing do with this, but during arrow they made an age of ultron reference. while arriving at the farm thea said "this seems familiar. i think i have seen this in a movie before?" remember in avengers they stayed at hawkeyes farm
Ward is fucking pathetic. He cant even hold on to his revenge scheme. Ward: "Yo dude, I know you're just using me for a suicide mission, I wanna kill Coulson, so back off." Gideon: "Oh come on, just do as I say." Ward: "Lol, ok."
I have been invested in FitzSimmon from day one as well. I just still do not think the whole Will the astronaut thing was really necessary. This has been one of the most beautiful relationship arcs I can remember and why the writers would even potentially throw it to the wolves deeply disappoints me. But given the circumstances, I would not be surprised if will is either black as night evil hydra or just plain dead meat.
Coulson went totally Rambo! I loved seeing him this pissed off! Awesome episode but I wish they would've added a little more of Them all on the other planet. Still great episode and Great Vid Charlie✋
I was really excited for the beginning of Daisy/Quake's team! I officially hate Ward for torturing Gemma again after knowing that he sent her and Fitz below the sea, and knowing she just came from a hostile foreign planet. But I'm excited to see how his character develops. 👍🏼 for the review of the episode Charlie.
I have a feeling everything is gonna come back full circle. For example the twist being that the mysterious inhuman and Will make it back to Earth while Fitz, Ward and Coulson get stuck on the other side and are forced to work together to survive. This seems like a plausible twist merely because it would allow a lot of characters to develop e.g. Mac as the new director, Daisy as a leader without Coulson and Simmons coping with the loss of Fitz.
I totally keep forgetting that these shows take place in the same universe. Like I know that AOS would never converge with Daredevil or Jessica Jones, but just imagining them bumping into each other in a convenience store somewhere not knowing they have powers or what not is pretty funny
I pretty much knew Ros was gonna have to die eventually, but I wasn't expecting it this soon. I felt it, too! I really liked her character, and that death was way too sudden and bloody. It was very powerful. I was expecting her to make some kind of big sacrifice to save Coulsen or something at the end of the season, but instead she just gets shot and dies...wow...
as always, awesome recap. I can't wait to see what they do with Will's character. I was sort of suspecting him to be the Inhuman on that planet, just couldn't understand how he could manifest himself in another form while he was with Jemma. hope to see this explained in the next episode, if this is indeed the case that Will is the Inhuman.
Hey Charlie , I've got an idea that will probably not happen , but would still be awesome : Coulson bring Raslund on the TAHITI program , brings her back to life , but she comes back damaged and dependent on him . This will twist his character , as he will be full of rage against Ward , but at the same time so emotional for Ras - taking care of her . They could expand on that by having Raslund go darker too and - at some point - have her tell Coulson to kill someone for her .
i reckon Will is the mystery figure , I don't think we saw Will and the mystery guy at the same time . but wow what an awesome episode cant wait for next week !
Ward gets more badass with each passing episode. True hydra to the core. Shooting Raz from that distance would probably have taken her head clean off though. I loved the dialogue when the old man slammed Garrett and Ward got defensive about Garrett saying he's the only reason Grant became HYDRA and old man admitted that Ward might just be the finest soldier the organization ever produced. Really cool scene. Also, how he should choose vision and progress over Closure and revenge. Excellent dialogue and scene.
Charlie I've not heard you talk about about the mystery inhuman being DEATH? I'm not a big comic read but love the shows. And I remember you saying Thanos was in love with someone called Death... Isn't that what the Hebrew writing in the castle said was Death??? Maybe you can read this in one of you Q&A videos!!!
So sad about Roslyn, I really wanted her to stay, but my fave moment was Fitz telling Simmons he can not live in a world without her. Also this is a stretch but could Will be the inhuman on the planet? I mean I know he has a background check by Fitz and everything but could it be all hydra stuff. Just a random and maybe no basis thought, but would be a good twist...
And am I the only one who burst out laughing when Coulson went through the portal? It just looked so funny and imagine if he didn't make it,and you just see him on the floor,ha I'm so dumb.
When Ward killed Roslyn I was like, "DANG IT WARD!" I almost teared up when Fitz went into that portal to that planet that Simmons was on! :( I would love it if Ward got trapped on that planet this time, even though I kind of had a crush on him for a while because he's a bad boy.
I kinda feel like Will is the Inhuman... It's a bit of a long stretch as i can't really explain the background files on Earth (which seem strangely clean), but I don't remember seeing the Inhuman and Will by Simmons side at the same time. There was no Inhuman in the first sandstorm, and she mysteriously wakes up at a water supply next to Will's trap or what ever that was. So she never saw the Inhuman until Will told her about him.
It was Angelus the evil version of Angel who killed the Giles's techno witch chick. Since it was the evil version of Ward that killed Rosalind, I think the Angel analogy was right.
Will is the inhuman! Remember the teaser at the end of the episode where fitz said he'll help simmons get will, the sun followed Will. Also remember Will said he couldn't see the sun for years when Simmons was there, but when she was gone and he was by himself, the sun followed him and then the dark shadow came after. I think he's the all powerful inhuman!
I know hindsight is 20/20 but yeah, when Coulson swore revenge he didn't have any sneaky plans. I knew he was going to go full-Terminator because he may have a sneaky side but in the end he's pretty no-frills.
I think best episode of the series to date. i do remember your Buffy reference . I think may have to watch some Buffy now on Netflix I miss that show. You are so right about Kilgrave, if he wanted to he could be one of the most powerful villains in the MCU ,
They killed her way too soon. I get it, to a certain extent, and it certainly drives home that hatred of Ward, but... Damn. She was so cool, it felt just sharp and sudden.
I can see your point about Rosslyn BUT Constance was never going to be around long with her having another show to film. IF she didnt have that show it would be interesting to see if they'd still have done it.
I think that Will is the Inhuman that Hydra wants. Just remember when Simmons said something like "You remember me.... " and I believe that she'll discover that.
fav momento was coulson turning to the dark side...... didnt expect Ward beating the crap out of Simmons even doe it happend off camera for me its a big wtf moment
What are your thoughts on Will being the mystery Inhuman? They could play it as he saw how he could use Gemma as a way to get off the planet. Plus with Fitz wanting to only bring him back, it would be a 2 birds 1 stone thing.
What do you think about the rumor that the mystery planet in AoS is the planet Morag from GotG? If you look at screens of Morag where they show 2 moons, it looks exactly like the moons of the mystery planet, save for a palette swap.
Charlie, wasn't there a scene in AoS where Malick calls the creature on the alien planet "the King of Inhumans"? Since I doubt he will be Blackbolt, could this be a hint that the creature is the first Inhuman king, The Unspoken?
Hey Charlie, considering the build-up for Lash as the "Inhuman Executioner" and the lack of cohesion in Daisy's team, do you think we'll end up seeing a climactic Lash vs "It" Inhuman fight on AoS? If "It" either turns on Mallick and Hydra and they've got Lash under their control, or if Andrew regains control over Lash and tries to protect SHIELD from the mystery Inhuman, it could lend itself to a great fight. Lash has so far been relatively impervious to all weaponry barring May's emotional blackmail.
The only problem I really had with this Episode was that Fitz was reduced to his Season 1 nerdy weakling character, it's okay that he was still a little afraid of Ward, but I just really REALLY want Fitz to be the Guy who takes him out, at least show some of the skills he learned in the Months Simmons was missing when he was basically 007 Fitz ¬_¬ but otherwise it was a great and intense episode
Jacey King at least talk some smack, maybe take a headbutt at him this is the guy who set an EMP on Garrett, I was expecting something, even if it was Dragging Malick in the Portal with him
Q and A. Hey Charlie had a question. Wanted to know if the term "inhumans" was combination of the words enhanced and humans squished together? I always thought the term "inhuman" meant a lack of humanity or something. I'm probably late to knowing all of this but was just curious since I started watching Agents of Shield regularly which happens to be a pretty damn good show. Thanks for answering this question.
What I love about this show is that the do the things I don't want or think would happen in a good way that I'm forced to concede, I didn't want the secret warriors (because I don't want a show about humans to turn into super team) but now I'm very excited for it, because it was earned, I didn't like Jemma meeting Will I thought it was a stretch, but now it is woven in the main plot I really like it..same for Ros, I liked her and didn't want her dead, but the shock and Coulson flipping out made it worth it! I have to say, I hate when people use the term fridge, as if it's a bad thing a character death is used for advancing other plotlines or character development, when a person dies in real life, the effect is more felt by their loved one, on account of the actual person being dead, so of course their death is not about them! and good writers will make the loss felt by the people who lost that person, Coulson and Banks in this situation, it's not a bad thing! and it's not suddenly sexist because it's a female, Trip died last season to advance plot to!
Marvel's killing it with their TV villains. Kingpin, Killgrave and Ward are all scary awesome
Agree well TV villains they have tons of problems with their Movie villians.
+Clinton Savage True, I'm thinking it has to do with more time to develop them. Maybe Marvel should all their villains on TV or Netflix.
and movie villains like loki and ....loki
That's the point isn't it? Loki is the only Movie villain to hang around for more than one movie, I thought some of the other villains were interesting, most of them have interesting motives and not bad for no reason (except the dark elf, he's just not a morning person!) but because we don't spend much time with them we don't get the same depth of personality we have with the TV villians
One of the best AGENTS episode ever, Coulson went total bad-ass!
As soon as it was revealed Ward killed Roslin I was all "Coulson is gonna kick the sh*t outta you boy!!"
+D Walker I FEEL SO SAD.....
Posting new *Batman v Superman* and *Flash Arrow Crossover* after they air tonight!
do you know if they have any new news about flash or aqua man cameo in batmanvsuperman
+Kason Gitchell only minor, they're barely in that movie.
totally gonna miss Coulson and Roz! But I knew it would happen eventually. Do you think they'll be trapped on that Planet and Daisy and co. will have to Save them?
+Emergency Awesome so they ARE gonna be in the movie just barely?
+Emergency Awesome That scene with Mack and May made me say "I think should you call in the Avengers"
Coulson's dive off the plane thru the portal was too sick!
this show is just on another level right now, without counting Netflix stuff, this is the best comic book show on tv this season IMO
+carpos p yeah. I love the drama and how its not predictible
+carpos p i agree, and it surprises the hell out of me based on the last 2 seasons. but this season is edge of your seat stuff, engaging af
+carpos p if this show was on any other network, it definitely would have got cancelled before it took off. it just needed time to get on it's own two feet, i hope more people are starting to see how good it actually is.
will the Avengers ever know that Coulson is still alive
+ronald villalobos probably not
Infinity War?
+Emergency Awesome. That would be so awesome if they do
+Alex Diaz your right she knows about him being alive
+ronald villalobos
Coulson apears in Lego Marvel's Avengers, so maybe there he would revile it :P
There was a nice Macgyver moment when Coulson creates a shock bomb with candles and air freshner.
doesn't anybody care about Banks?!? let us mourn the tragic loss of Banks!!
+cwopre I was really staring to like him too
+Susan Stanko yeah I liked him too. I really wanted him to be part of the shield team
+Frank Erazo Yeah me too man
+cwopre He will be missed
+cwopre Fitz/Simmons just watch him die but it wasn't like they could do anything to prevent his death.
this season has been really, really rewarding so far. I hope they allow events in this show to actually impact the rest of the MCU the way the Netflix series will.
I was so sad when Roz got shot, I started hoping that Coulson would whip out a vial of regen-goop and heal her up :(
I found it extremely odd that Rosalyn wouldn't have bullet-proof glass in her windows...
Im pretty sure everyone was mad when Rosalind died. I was hoping it was a dream sequence. :'(
+DJD10113 Ward's a better sniper then Winter Solider, that's a great distance from the apartment
I am totally going for the plottwist that will is the inhuman, and that he was playing simmons all along
Anytime Coulson gets a fight scene the episode's already a hit.
That Coulson epic dive though :D but I'm kinda sad that Rosaline is dead now I really like them together, IMO the best scenes of AOS this season is when they are together
+StealthKun They were so happy together eating burger and shit aaaaaand shes dead RIP
+StealthKun
there is no real death in Marvel universe
+Marcin Ciślak well not really she wasn't a main character so the chances of staying dead is way higher
+StealthKun You think the trapped space dude is really the Hydra King that they're trying to bring back through? The thing messes with people's minds after all. Ward killing Rosaline was a bummer. Coulson - still the man.
right!!!!! This episode was solo awesome!!!!! That dive was the best haha

He should be put on the planet, and wait a long time to bring him back.
He should be put on the planet, and wait a long time to bring him back.
+Adnan Mujtaba he also killed victoria hand... the hand will be missed
The opening came completely out of left field and I felt like it really raised the stakes. A lot of phone throwing in this episode too, very relatable. Agents of Shield is the best of the comic book shows on TV right now. And I watch all of them
Man every episode just gets better and better
I liked how they made Grant Ward some kind of touchy, feely EMO, but instead of "cutting" himself, he cuts down other people.
This show just gets better and better. Dreading that mid-season break.
dude! coulson diving through that portal, captain america style... crazy
I second that. Let Ward switch places with Will..xD
Great video!
i liked the skydive across the galaxy most and agree that hydra will be unable to control the mystery inhuman like what always happens to the Master.
Watch the mystery Inhuman be another Koenig brother
+Ben Spector where are koening right now? or they are dead?
+cualquiercosaax They're not dead, they're just being kept at the assignments they've always had, guarding those other secret bases.
+Ben Spector Then confirmed the whole time the Koenig brothers were all inhuman.
or life model decoy
+cualquiercosaax Think they'll bring those out for the next Avengers? I don't think the death in the MCU is quite meaningless yet.
I love when you're referring to Buffy. It is one of my favorite shows.
You are absolutely smashing it this week, Charlie!
I really want Ward to be Taskmaster
+Connor C maybe is too late now
+Connor C Ya honestly i feel like ward becoming taskmaster would work pretty well.
+Connor C i feel like they keep hinting at it, if you look back into the previous eps like when he told may he studied her moves and how garrett was taken by wards reflexes. Agreed. It's too easy/boring if they both come back as separate entities. Will has to be the host for the added suspense.
Great episode. Things have just been getting exponentially better this season.
did anyone else notice the bloodied match book being the call to arms for coulson as his bloodied captain America cards were after his death to the avengers? I feel that was a really nice nod back to the first movie
It had been a while since a tv series surprised me, i didn't expect rosalind's death neither bank's
I would love to see a whole segment on Fitz. Iain DeCastaeker is the strongest actor I have seen in any Marvel project and what I love about Fitz is the same thing I love about Steve Rodgers- they are both so committed to doing the right thing regardless of the cost.

Gideon: "Oh come on, just do as I say."
Ward: "Lol, ok."
+stalk8r Yeah, Malick manipulated him so easily through his ego.
Kingpin, Kilgrave, and Ward are some Joker-level villain. Awesome and scary as hell. Why don't Marvel put them on the big screen?
I have been invested in FitzSimmon from day one as well. I just still do not think the whole Will the astronaut thing was really necessary. I agree - I hated to lose the Rosalyn character. That was a shame.
Coulson went totally Rambo! I loved seeing him this pissed off! Awesome episode but I wish they would've added a little more of Them all on the other planet. Still great episode and Great Vid Charlie✋
this was a GREAT episode! i can't wait to see the next one and more secret warriors
The OTS(old team shield:Skye, May, Coulson, FitzSimmons and kinda ward) is my favourite team
I was really excited for the beginning of Daisy/Quake's team! I'm literally refreshing the feed to see this flash arrow cross over video
Hey Charlie ,
I've got an idea that will probably not happen , but would still be awesome :

i reckon Will is the mystery figure , I don't think we saw Will and the mystery guy at the same time . but wow what an awesome episode cant wait for next week !
Great analysis. I feel the same, it's a shame they wrote Rosalind out just to boost Coulsons resolve. Oh well.
Almost 1 million subs!!!congratz!
I chuckle when I heard Ward mention that Simons was giving that Furiosa vibe

My favorite moment was when Phil sky dived into the portal, kinda wised he didn't have a parachute.
And am I the only one who burst out laughing when Coulson went through the portal? It just looked so funny and imagine if he didn't make it,and you just see him on the floor,ha I'm so dumb.
also pissed with the dead of Rosalind, they had really good chemistry.
When Ward killed Roslyn I was like, "DANG IT WARD!" I almost teared up when Fitz went into that portal to that planet that Simmons was on! :( I would love it if Ward got trapped on that planet this time, even though I kind of had a crush on him for a while because he's a bad boy.

Coulsen is a badass!!!! Feige really needs to stop neglecting the fact they he still exists and should re-appear in the movies.
It was Angelus the evil version of Angel who killed the Giles's techno witch chick. Since it was the evil version of Ward that killed Rosalind, I think the Angel analogy was right.
I have been wondering... is it distantly possible that Will, who is also stuck on the other planet, is actually that almighty powerful inhuman? ..
+Aakash Mitra Cuase if he wasn't he would be in the Fitz Simmons Love Triangle
Will is the inhuman! Remember the teaser at the end of the episode where fitz said he'll help simmons get will, the sun followed Will. I think best episode of the series to date. i do remember your Buffy reference . I think may have to watch some Buffy now on Netflix I miss that show. You are so right about Kilgrave, if he wanted to he could be one of the most powerful villains in the MCU ,
Poor Rosalind, it's a shame she died but I could give up everything for Coulson to get even more badass!
They killed her way too soon. I get it, to a certain extent, and it certainly drives home that hatred of Ward, but... Damn. She was so cool, it felt just sharp and sudden.
I can see your point about Rosslyn BUT Constance was never going to be around long with her having another show to film. IF she didnt have that show it would be interesting to see if they'd still have done it.
best moment of course was the split second where colson divebombed into the portal
I think that Will is the Inhuman that Hydra wants. Just remember when Simmons said something like "You remember me.... " and I believe that she'll discover that.
man, i would have loved to have seen Charlie's reaction to this episode. it was a roller coaster. =)
was pretty unhappy about rosalind's death but I'm willing to see where it goes in terms of coleson's character development
fav momento was coulson turning to the dark side...... didnt expect Ward beating the crap out of Simmons even doe it happend off camera for me its a big wtf moment
do you have any theories on who the inhuman figure is? you dont think they would introduce Black Bolt or any of the royals would they?
Could the monster thingy be that old knight or whatever that was sent back a long time ago in that one episode?
In my opinion this show is really good now, like waaaay better than before. I love it!
Love this show and your commentary! Thanks!
the colson and rasland scene was so good
What are your thoughts on Will being the mystery Inhuman? They could play it as he saw how he could use Gemma as a way to get off the planet. Plus with Fitz wanting to only bring him back, it would be a 2 birds 1 stone thing.
What do you think about the rumor that the mystery planet in AoS is the planet Morag from GotG? If you look at screens of Morag where they show 2 moons, it looks exactly like the moons of the mystery planet, save for a palette swap.
If you are going to compare Ward to a Buffy character I think Faith would be a better comparison than Angel or Spike.
Easy way to take care of Ward. Drop him in another mine full of Wendigos.
Good episode. Can't wait to see who the big bad is.
I'll miss roselyn she was good for coulson. But it did push him into mad dog mode
Season 3 for Agents of SHIELD is the best!
Do you know how long until the trailer airs ? You are awesome as usual btw
Calling it now: Will is actually the inhuman. The mystery figure might be something else entirely.
Duuude sooo many things happened before the intro, I was literally like WUUUTT
The only problem I really had with this Episode was that Fitz was reduced to his Season 1 nerdy weakling character, it's okay that he was still a little afraid of Ward, but I just really REALLY want Fitz to be the Guy who takes him out, at least show some of the skills he learned in the Months Simmons was missing when he was basically 007 Fitz ¬_¬
but otherwise it was a great and intense episode
+dannybob42 What the hell was he supposed to do? Seriously, put yourself in his shoes while watching the episode.
Jacey King at least talk some smack, maybe take a headbutt at him
this is the guy who set an EMP on Garrett, I was expecting something, even if it was Dragging Malick in the Portal with him
***** yes, and that was it. Simmons said more to Ward than him and he was the one who got Aphasia from it
+dannybob42 Just shows you that Simmons is the one thing that makes Fitz worse as Mack once put it.
