    SPOILER
    It's cool how the show doesn't kill off Brett Dalton but kills the Ward character off...

      +Fonzi M I give it the rest of the season then Brett's character will be gone.

    • @StarwarsCustomizer12

      Idk, I guess it's nice. Bret is an awesome actor, but wards time is up to be on the show and I don't know if having that "thing" be in wards body will work. I feel like it's just the producers trying to have their cake and eat it too.

      +Fonzi M I agree...a super power as the head of Hydra...I see Ward crossing over in the the MCU film universe quite easily. Coulson has yet to be revealed alive to the others..AND he really needs Tony or Vision to create some great hardware for his hand......Ward is also a contender in the Thor universe via AoS...that Asgardian made Shield promise to Never re-open that portal...OOOPS Hydra did it....isn't Thor's watcher ALWAYS looking for disturbances in that rainbow realm thingy (forget the actual terms) What happened letting that Inhumapocalyse back on Earth HAD to cause some alarms to go off in Asgard

    Way better mid season finale than the Flash one. That line about Tatooine was hilarious. I like how they inject humor even in serious scenes. This is something AoS excels at.

      +cartoon80s90s it wasn't bad..just wasn't good.. it was a good episode just not a good season finale. it was on par with TWD midseason, eh? TWd was ight, Flash was ight, but holy damn AoS was just great

    • @jorgex2000
      @jorgex2000 9 лет назад

      +cartoon80s90s must definitely not. Flash was pretty amazing, simply having Mark Hamil (better than mentioning Tatooine is having Luke Skywalker ) on the episode makes it better.

      As an episode, the Flash finale was great. As a mid season finale, it was boring and didn't create tension at all. It's OK though. The plot they've come up with can't lead to cliffhangers when you want them. Still, I feel they could have a nice WTF moment instead of Wally West crushing their party. Maybe I'm the only one who found all this episode's scenes with Joe and Wally boring. Those were my least favorite scenes and dragged down the entire episode.

      Flash midseason finale had many litlle subplots and was quality TV , for me it was one of better midseason episodes this fall

      @joshwilkins9138 9 лет назад +8

      +DavijoMan agreed, unfortunately. He was such a great character, but it's not actually him anymore. It's another entity entirely using his body...for now. Hopefully it'll leave his body at some point for another host, after having healed Ward's body. That way we get to keep the creature and Ward can have a new arc dealing with everything that's happened to him. Or forgetting closure about it - since closure is overrated and all for him now - and hatching some new scheme.

    • @gateauxq4604
      @gateauxq4604 9 лет назад

      Since Will-It was able to function at least peripherally as Will I think Ward-It will still have some of Ward in him. A vengeful asshole all-powerful creature, great. 'I have a purpose now' gg, Ward. Thanks, Quesada.

    • @SubFuly
      @SubFuly 9 лет назад

      +Shadow Phoenix The Hive has the ability to take mental control of individuals by placing his squid/pod parasites on the body of any victim. The Hive is the perfect host for this parasitic species and has the ability to breed and centrally control these parasites. The Hive can shoot these parasites from various parts of his body including his hands and chest. The Hive speaks in some unknown language but certain members of HYDRA including Strucker and the Gorgon can understand him. The Hive also has enhanced strength and is formidable in hand-to-hand combat. Could be him also.

    This episode got me on my edge, I really wanted will to live, I like joey's character a lot, he is like this genuinely good man in the middle of a bunch of cold bloded spies.
    When ward died I was like yasss, finally this spoiled brat is dead, and then like oh fuck, I thought he died and then like, yes he's dead, its that creature wo-ho and then like oh fuck, its that creature.

    • @Patrick-Snow
      @Patrick-Snow 9 лет назад

      +Stephon Delvalle If this thing is the Hive like a lot fans are speculating then Ward could still be alive. He's just not in control of his body. His consciousness could be trapped so to speak. If the Hive is removed somehow then you could see the old Ward again or a newer new Ward.

    • @Patrick-Snow
      @Patrick-Snow 9 лет назад

      Stephon Delvalle I don' think Ward was dead long enough. It takes 5 minutes after death for the human brain to suffer any permanent damage. so If this parasite restarted Ward's Heart and repaired his body in time you would think that would save what makes Ward Ward. I imagine this parasite just latches it self to the host's brain to take over and doesn't actually consume it or replace it.

    I feel like the look Fitz and Coulson gave each other at the end was more mutual. They both killed someone that they both, in a way wanted dead. Fitz himself admitted wanting to harm him and you knew Coulson was on the warpath for Ward. Itll be interesting to see how this plays out. Im betting Coulson and Fitz will have a mutual guilt thing going on, even though Fitz really didn't kill that guy, I bet it still fed some sort of satisfaction in him.
    On the Ward note, I feel like the Whedon-verse has famously done this before with popular characters, where the character is killed off but their body is re-inhabited by a god like being (See Fred/Illyria from Angel) and almost re-purposes the character arc.

    I'm so relieved that the monster took the image of Ward instead of Fitz or Coulson. Because that scene where Fitz and Coulson came back and were staring at each other had me thinking that the monster was one of them.

    theory: inhuman powers randomly manifest with some type of yin and yang, karma like balancing mechanism, so maybe Slash's tendency to want to hunt inhumans will eventually manifest as a need to hunt the biggest and baddest inhuman [or in"shushie" ] -Ward's Symbiote.

    I love what they did with ward's character. I think it was perfect. the show really did everything they could have with done with him and I completely agree with you sayimg that it was a little much by making ward more and more crazy. I think it's the perfect next step for him by killing off the ward character but using him( and possibly his memories or hatred) to introduce and fuel this new big bad hydra creature.

    It was a great and intense episode, but I think they didn't make Fitz killing Will as dramatic as Coulson killing Ward, I mean it didn't need much just some more dramatic music when he fired it
    Hopefully this'll mean Coulson will get a Vibranium hand now, but that'll likely be after Civil War when Black Panther is onside, Mack did really well as the director too

    The mid season finale was amazing! I feel the Ward twist was just brilliant! Coulson crushing his chest was AAAWWWWWEEESSSOOMMMEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe Agents of Shield is gearing up for more Marvel Universe interactions....film wise. Coulson came from the film genre of Marvel and has lots and lots of untouched/untapped story arc with each of the individual Avengers. Additionally, the films believe they destroyed Hydra...but Ward has resurrected it in a way the Avengers can not ignore,,,in my opinion Daisy and Ward and Coulson have every reason to move into the films. With the word of Mockingbird.....I can see Hunter and Mockingbird, Mac, May somehow working with Black Window and other un-powered film super heroes,....and since u mentioned him...could you Just SEE Lokey and Ward teaming up for mischief?!!! The possibilities are endless!

      +Bev Hill-Garrett Sorry to crush your dreams, but in Joss Whedons contract for Age of Ultron it stated that Coulson could not appear in any MCU movies. He regrets bringing him back to life because it makes his death in the first Avengers mean much less.

      MrCheeselover88 well my dreams aren't crushed :D ...and in Hollywood 'never' doesn't really mean never...old Joss could be persuaded to renegotiate that clause at any old time.....my feelings on his regret about bringing him back to life...doubt it.....AoS would not BE without Coulson's resurrection and Agent Carter would Not be without AoS.....it was the hiatus of AoS that gave that TV show it's momentum.....and his being alive via Tahiti in no way lessens his death in the Avengers movie....just as Pepper miraculously was cured in the Iron Man and Tony creating a non existent metal and not dying of that other thingy poisoning him....Joss is trippin

    I really liked the way they had Will be the creature, but not have been the creature all along. I think having him die when Jemma left and then get possessed, rather than having him secretly be the creature before. I was also hoping that Ward would end up possessed by the creature, and he did. I just thought that would be the most interesting way to go with Ward (and with the creature).

    The ancient being taking over Ward's corpse reminded me so much of Illyria from Angel. Sure Illyria hollowed out Fred who unlike Ward was actually a good person but just the concept of something old and ancient borrowing the husk of a main character and still has access to that person's memories is very Illyria. It made for a useful tool in torturing the remaining characters with Fred's memory, as I am sure they will use "it" to screw with Coulson.

    So does this mean that the Ward character is completely done with? Will Brett Dalton now be playing only as this ancient alien? Or will there still be elements of the Ward character that affects the alien since it is Ward's body that it decided to possess?

    • @indig0icee
      @indig0icee 9 лет назад

      +Charles Ailsworth My take on it: Ward is dead-dead. The alien will still possess some knowledge of his life and memories, though . . . like it did with Will. On the AfterBuzzTV Shield panel, they talked about how it was fitting for the alien to know things about Will's life while he was talking to Fitz, because memories are actually stored in specific brain cells. As long as the alien learns how to trigger certain neurons in the brain, it can potentially "read" and maybe even "feel" a memory. There are studies by MIT about where exactly in the brain this takes place if you want to Google it.
      TL;DR Ward is gone, but the alien (Hive?maybe) may retain some of Ward's memories and preferences.

    • @charlieailsworth4060
      @charlieailsworth4060 9 лет назад

      +indig0ice That would be interesting to have the alien be able to pull from Ward's memories. It could fight SHIELD agents and be able to mock and taunt them as well as use Ward's knowledge to exploit their weaknesses without having the drawbacks of Ward's own personal emotions.

    Aw Wards reveal as a bad guy in Season 1 was amazing in my opinion. Like it's obvious that while a lot of what he did beforehand was an act that he still liked the other characters, which made him a really interesting villain.
