This video was directed by Dick Maas, the director of a lot of popular Dutch movies mostly horror/thriller of comedy. In this video we see the band's singer as the main character, the bass player sitting next to the little girl on the underground and as the judge, the drummer as the shrink, and the guitarist as the brain surgeon. The curly redhead was a model, the window cleaner was the singer of Gruppo Sportivo, another Dutch band, and the guy walking from the elevator is actor Huub Stapel who played the elevator mechanic in Maas his big breakthrough horror movie De Lift (The Elevator).
This band was formed in 1961, a year after the Beatles and a year before the Stones. And they continued rocking until this year.
No sorry Pascal, George Kooijmans the composer of most of there songs was diagnosed ALS last year, last week was his birthday like me he's form 1948 a Golden Year.

Its a great band from The Hague Netherlands. I have seen them many times live , they stopped recently. The former drummer was my Neighbour. They started in 1961 and stopt in 2021 due to bad Sicknes from 1 of the members.
Funny, his dad was a colleague of mine at Olivetti Rijswijk,
I remember him making the drum stands for his son in lunchtime..1971..

I've been to many live shows of them. Especially in smaller theaters the contact with the band was great fun. I'm a long time fan. Radar Love is most known. But there are so many others songs. Personally I love "Another 45 miles"

The lady in the video has a daughter who I had in my class. According to her, Barry Haye, the singer who currently lives in Curaçao, takes her out to lunch whenever he is in Holland. They are still great friends (but nothing more so get your minds out of the gutter).

It's a shame that many people don't know about this band. In their day they were very famous and they gave several now legendary bands their start too. They played next to Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Eric Clapton,... They also opened for the likes of Santana and Rush and had opening acts themselves like KISS and Aerosmith.

Round 1 of many when it comes to this band, they had many hits, several in the USA as well, and across the globe.
They sadly had to call it quits not too long ago (earlier this year) because one of the 2 lead singers (and guitarist) George Kooymans was diagnosed with ALS.
At that moment they still had the Rolling Stones beat in longevity, they were founded a little before the Stones did.
That alone tells you how large their catalogue has to be, its massive to say the least.
"Radar Love", "Twilight Zone", and "Another 45 miles" should be on your list for future exploration ;)

Ah yes, I remember that clip well....kinda childhood nostalgia. The director of this clip is Dick Maas, a famous Dutch director. He also directed movies like for example De Lift (remade in 2001 under the title Down) and Amsterdamned. Don't know if they're out there with eng subs, but definitely worth a look if you're into suspense/thriller/horror.
At around 5:20 you can see Huub Stapel as the mechanic from the movie Lift. 😂

The guy walking out of an elevator with a toolbox is Huub Stapel, who played the main part as an elevator repairman in an 80s Dutch horror movie called De Lift (The Elevator) which was about a computerized elevator that became self aware and started killing people. It got a forgettable American remake called Down.

They hit the 13th place on the billboards of the united states with that song and top ten in countries like uk, canada, australia, germany and spain. Also barry hay, the lead vocalist and frontman discovered Anouk. Her first album Together alone was produced by him and george kooymans.
