Nonsense. Butchers give more money for stuff (and some butchers even pay more than other butchers for certain items, I have a list I keep of what to sell where for the most profit). I simply look up what items the Trapper needs to make all his clothes for me and turn those items into him first is all. Once the trapper has been given enough of those specific items, then I sell them to the butchers. You can Possibly Snag the Brindle Thoroughbred as early as Chapter 2 without taking a Hit to Honor, right outside camp where the fella has been run up a tree by a Cougar. (Through the Burnt Trees) It's random, but can be done. What I did was save in camp as soon as I got there and am able to finally roam freely, then head out of camp toward the Burnt trees and listen for the Cougar (if no Cougar, Reload) and the fella screaming. If RNG is good, there could be what should be an O'Driscoll ambush near the river just below where the Cougar is, and because of the Commotion up top, the Ambush will not Occur, however one of the O'Driscoll's will be riding the Brindle Thoroughbred, if RNG is on your side with this then Kill the O'Driscoll to take the Horse. I've only ever got the Ambush with the Thoroughbred to spawn twice. 1st time I didn't notice the Ambush, after saving the Tree Hugger, I took the Cougar for Camp Supplies (was a 3 Star) as I was riding back down the Hill toward the Crossroads at the river I noticed the Horse within the Trees with No Rider. The 2nd time, there was no Cougar, just the Ambush, and the same thing, one of the O'Driscoll's was riding the Horse, killed him quick, then hopped from my Horse to the Thoroughbred Mid Fight to make sure I got it. Remember though, RNG can be a Pain with this one, but if you really want the Thoroughbred as early as possible in Chapter 2, this could work.

Still rocking the preorder war horse, i dk how I get that because i didn't preorder the game, the code is just there in the physical copy, didn't even buck Arthur off during wolf ambush, an absolute unit infront of the alligator,
The best horses to get with almost max- besides two or one like the horse in the thumbnail, at Saint Denis stables. They have the highest of all but only one is missing from speed and two are missing from acceleration, that’s the highest I’ve seen so far and it’s that horse.
Yeah, all horses are basically the same. Even the handling is almost irrelevant since there are hardly any instances where it matters. Also, they are all big cowards who will throw you to the alligators and run when you are getting shot. Just get one that won't whine over a little running and you're good
@@zekeiwa5837 The only stats that set any of them apart are HP and stamina and stamina become irrelevant after you get saddle upgrades. Most horses have high HP once they get to lvl 3 or 4 bonding.
@@doublem1975x even health doesn't seem to matter because they all go down in like 3-4 shots. I've tried to run horse-centered builds in rdo and they always get shot rather quickly even during pve, and falls are usually very random in the damage since the ragdoll does most of the damage, so sometimes a single bump kills them while other times they can tank a cliff. i'm playing story mode with a morgan and i don't notice any changes from my level 4 turkoman i've heard that apparently the bravery stat keeps going on after level 4, but even my main war horse that i've had for years still bucks me the second a cougar appears, so that's either bugged or just too random to even matter
@@zekeiwa5837 Haven’t played rdo in a couple years. Before I left the meta was focus fire + peak conditioning + Landon’s patience (bugged to give full dmg after few seconds). With dual navy’s or shotgun you could even mow down s&s players quickly from full hp. Horse bravery was debunked years ago. There’s no difference in bravery between even Morgan and Ardennes.
Thoroughbreds are pretty skittish. All the "Riding" and "Race" category horses, Appaloosa's, American Paints, Suffolk Punch and Turkoman are all very skittish even when they have max bonding level. The worst are Arabians. Everyone praises Arabians for their great stats but they're terrible horses when it comes to bravery, the worst. Everything else not mentioned will have decent enough bravery especially when it's max bond level. If you know how to ride the more skittish breeds it is kind of an advantage because they warn you earlier from predator attacks. If you don't get bucked immediately, spam the calm button and just stop telling your horse which direction it should go because it will begin to run away from the danger then once you know which direction your horse wants to go, go in that direction but don't try to fight your horse too much.
I don't necessarily need the fastest horse. I like my horses to have good speed, stamina and not get easily spooked. I'm riding the Andalusian right now and it's a solid horse.
My fav is Hungarian Halfbreed. The color is Red, most likely available from the mods i am using. It has better stats too. Absolutely love the combo of horse and color. Actually my fav is Tarkoman gold color but it is only available in late game or by exploits. Once i had a very annoying incident with Andalusian. So, i blew the bastard and i never use it again. Ardennes is better than Andu, a pure war horse.
I got a Thoroughbred brindle horse in chapter 2 when some guy almost knocked me off my horse hunting, i stopped to skin my kill and then went to go fight and his horse was just in the middle of the road, his rider just disappeared. I looked around, got on the horse and rode off 😂😂😂
The speed differences do not really matter that much. Riding from Valentine to Rhodes using the white Arabian instead of Morgan will get you there only a few seconds faster.
The Foxy Silver with the lady, when in the game? Right at the begining? I kinda like it better the Foxy than the Pure Arabian Blood, because it is a polyvalent horse and such a beauty skin :)
@alexandermagnus82 I wait until I become john it pisses me off that Arthur's horse gets killed I tried to stable my main horse hoping john could get it but it makes no difference so now I save the good horses for john
Not really, just save right before the going through the west side of the tunnel and have at least 30 rifle rounds, recommend getting the medium scope. Usually only have to kill her a handful of times. It's easier and way less time consuming than the Albert Mason version of acquiring that horse. Not to mention, this glitch he shows here, you can repeat it as many times as you want as long as you don't do this random encounter of escorting that lady to her requested destination vs the Albert Mason version can only be done once. It's that or you have to wait for the epilogue.

you could always commandeer the fast travel wagon at Emerald Station and line it up to block the MFT in the heartland overflow when you have the 3rd Albert Mason mission up and ready
Buell has not let me down yet. No other horse comes close and even the cougars can't be bothered anymore. I literally just rode by two and they were like F.K it....its Buell.
So, he doesn't show it, but you see the train tracks in the video? Start at The Corwall Kerosene and Tar (Heartland Oilfields), follow those tracks through the tunnel to get where he is at in the video and make sure to stop where he is at by that power line pole too. If you don't see that woman, it means you've already completed that "random encounter". She has a large amount of multiple spawns all across New Hanover and a few in Ambarino, if you've already helped her out by giving her a ride to the town she requests, you can't spawn her or the horse again on that save file. If you ever see a random woman in a light blue dress just walking around out on paths like that anywhere across New Hanover or Ambarino (There is a spawn near Moonstone Pond and another east of O'Creaghs Run (Hamish Sinclair, the veteran who owns Buell), it's her. All you have to do is hope you spot her in time before she spots you and requests for help, just ride in the opposite direction of her a bit to despawn her if you want to save that glitched spawn point he shows in this video because you can repeat that glitch to get multiples of that horse, it's the best all rounded horse in the game, sells for decent money when max bonded too. It's always going to be a female horse if that matters to you.
@@RoadSparrow yeah that's where I kept going to, just beyond the Cornwall Oilfields but the woman or horse never seem to spawn there. Yet again I have helped a woman previously get to emerald ranch but her horse that died was all brown, and for Buell well I did that mission today but the old guy and the horse were way closer to Strawberry than to Emerald Rand
@@mattheweckersley7749 That counts as the same random encounter then. There is a 3rd with a black girl that will ask to be taken to Lagras. If she's not spawning then you'll have to either use the save with cheats glitch before "Angelo Bronte A Man of Honor" (chapter 4 mission), which you could use to spawn any horse in the game or if you're past that your only other option is to buy/steal it from the Blackwater stables in the epilogue.
@@mattheweckersley7749 yeah if you can do the missions with Hamish and Buell (chapter 6) then you're honestly not that far away from accessing Blackwater.
unless sheer blinding speed is your only requirement in a horse then none of the arabians are good. you cant even trot past a snake on the side of the road without it freezing up and refusing to move, let alone face a cougar or pack of wolves that charge you when youre just travelling from place to place. you just end up on your butt with a cougar mauling you. in a game where youre off your horse every two seconds anyway sheer blinding speed is almost the least of my requirements in a horse.

I simply look up what items the Trapper needs to make all his clothes for me and turn those items into him first is all.
Once the trapper has been given enough of those specific items, then I sell them to the butchers. Same thing goes for the stuff that the cook (I forget his name atm) will make for me and the camp (bigger bags, rugs for the ground/etc).

Sounds like more of a pain than just taking it from the racing lady, where the honor can easily be made up with a few few greetings to people lol. Unless the racing lady doesn’t show up in Chapter 2, I don’t see the need to go through the RNG checking trouble.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Agreed, I've been trying to Replicate this again the past few days for about 20 - 30 minutes at a time trying both Ambush Spots near the Camp. Had No Luck getting the Ambush to Spawn at either. So RNG for this seems to be quite low. But still, if anyone does happen to get the Ambush to spawn near the river, look for the Horse, it may be there.
These are all great horses, but I'll stick with reverse dapple black thoroughbred and Turkoman. Got the Turkoman from Horse Flesh For Dinner (Steal the three horses from Braithwaites) and The Thoroughbred with cheats and glitch save to keep it. Love all the beauties though.
Faster isn't better. I'll take one with alittle less speed if it doesn't throw you at every sneak peak at a fast moving leaf and all the fastest ranking ones WILL DO that. Give me a Perlino Andalusian or Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred
I stick with the Black Brute Shire that Hosea gives you in the 1st mission with him. I can beat the racers (like the lady in the start of this clip or the other guy) and do all the horseman challenges including the VH to Blackwater (in ch2 just grab a bounty mission, stow em on your horse and you are exempt from the law/snipers) etc etc etc.
@@andrewlowden322 In my next play through I do intend on keeping the shire from Hosea, after learning more about the horse. The first one not everyone gets it’s a random encounter that can happen.
If you beat the woman at the beginning in the race twice, you get a speed boost to all horses
You can race her twice ?
How do you know the Missouri Foxtrotter is even in there, and which one it is? So many videos about this "trick" and not a single one explains the details.

Does the shooting the stable method still works in May 2024? And does it work with any stable and any horses inside?
As long as you get wanted level
Yeah
I still ride the horse from the stable in Valentine. $115 well spent
The speed difference between the slowest and fastest horse in the game is negligible.
Yes, but it feels faster. 😆
But I don’t like Arabian because of its small size.
I've tried to run horse-centered builds in rdo and they always get shot rather quickly even during pve, and falls are usually very random in the damage since the ragdoll does most of the damage, so sometimes a single bump kills them while other times they can tank a cliff. i'm playing story mode with a morgan and i don't notice any changes from my level 4 turkoman
i've heard that apparently the bravery stat keeps going on after level 4, but even my main war horse that i've had for years still bucks me the second a cougar appears, so that's either bugged or just too random to even matter
Biggest negative in this game for me is only having 4 stable slots -_-
I did that Brindle thing and tied up the rider. Used the hose for about 3 hours and it would never calm down. Ended up selling it.
It'll stop doing that once you load the save again. Coulda just stabled and reloaded
You get these is John
I don't necessarily need the fastest horse. I like my horses to have good speed, stamina and not get easily spooked. I'm riding the Andalusian right now and it's a solid horse.
which Andalusian ?
Dark Bay female, I bought her in the stable outside Strawberry.
The Hungarian Halfbreed is a solid horse, I have it currently stabled.
so ur telling me that the horse i hated because it was my replacement after selling my favorite one turns out to be one of the fastest in the game
