I love this band. Thanks for reviewing, no one else has hit upon these amazing folks yet.

Amazing band. The song "Bright Ambassadors of Morning" from the album The Dark Third is well worth checking out. I think of them as like a 21st century Pink Floyd.

+1 nice to hear the initial reaction to this anyways. I suggested this quite long time ago and it’s really nice to see them on reaction videos. From my library they are probably one of the least known bands in youtubespace among the likes of Division by Zero etc..

They were a favourite of mine for a long time, was very sad to hear when they split up, but was very happy to hear they're back together.
Every album is different, my favourite album is "Hammer and Anvil"

Thank you, YT algo for being useful for once. Things had been chaotic and I straight up forgot they had got together again. Their older stuff is my favorite to write or paint to because the lyrics don't make a ton of actual sense but they make emotional sense, and so they can assist without getting in the way of what I'm trying to do. Musically, they encourage me to know when to stretch.
This is indeed a lot more commercially oriented than I'm used to from them but it's still undeniably them, so nice they could thread that needle.
Anyway, thanks for doing this reaction. It was nice to hear it with you.

Wow! Can't believe I'm seeing a reaction to PRR! I was at their last two gigs before they broke up in 2012 at The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and Heaven in London. Saw them about 15 or so times in total. Me and a friend first came across them when we fancied a night out of live music in London and we prefer small venues. We were looking through the listings of the venues we frequented back in about 2008 and we saw PRR playing at The Barfly in London. We liked the name so went along and we were so impressed. This was prior to their first album The Dark Third.
If you fancy checking out more I'll throw these suggestions into the mix
    In Aurelia
    The Twyncyn / Trembling Willows
    The Intention Craft
    Bullitts Dominae
    The Bright Ambassadors Of Morning
    Deus Ex Machina
    The Gloaming
    AVO
    Blitzkrieg
    Valour
The two vocalists are Jon and Chloe

Try The Judas Table and Black Market Enlightenment albums by Antimatter. Mick Moss is the vocalist for them but on occasion he does solo shows. From London and he collaborates with alot of prog artists

I have Eupnea. The last song is 13 minutes long. The album cover is awesome!!

  • @Rabant777

Floyd elements on The Dark Third, and then incorporated more trip hop (Massive Attack / Portishead) and Muse. Love all the albums but Eupnea was certainly less immediate for me.
Jon's other band Bullet Height took a very particular slice out of the PRR cake - I wouldn't say proggy, just some of the most immediate flavours.

Nice! I had sort of forgot about this band. It was the favorite band of my now deceased cousin/best friend so this was a very pleasant re-discovery for me, although a bit nostalgic. Thank you!
I'll have to check out the rest of this album now.
...and btw. Pain of Salvation - Beyond the Pale! ;)
