I'm going to show y'all some of my favorite Marketplace finds over the past few months. Spoiler alert!! It's mostly chairs, haha!

The scale of the fiddleback chairs look better. They also look sturdier and the woodtone looks nice with the hutch. The highchair is darling. Happy belated birthday!

Your new chairs are Winthrop- back chairs (named after Gov. Winthrop). They look lovely and fit in any farmhouse, or cottage, setting. You got a great deal on well-made chairs that should last you a lifetime. Having grown up with many relatives on farms, I know that they all would have loved them in their farmhouses. Fiddleback chairs actually have a panel running up the back that looks very similar to a fiddle or violin.

Kristen- Those Ethan Allen chairs are everything. They are possibly part of the few pieces still remaining that were actually made in the "USA" or "America" as some of the stamping shows in vintage EA furniture up to the 90's, before the factories were moved overseas. Please keep them as they are and do not paint them as that will definitely affect their value. I wish I had the kind of items you get at my local FB marketplace, but unfortunately, it's mostly trash. Last December I decided to order a set of chairs similar to yours, from the EA store. I just got them, 6 months later (not made in this country....). and they cost me $800.00 a piece. You are very lucky indeed! Happy belated birthday and enjoy your beautiful finds!

Happy belated birthday. I love the wicker laundry basket. I am 60 years old and I remember my mother using only wicker baskets. Back in the 80’s I purchased and used a wicker laundry basket that came with a removable cloth liner. 💖

I totally love the fiddle back chairs for the quality and beauty and Ethan Allen Girl no question about it . Just paint em 👍☺️💕. The parlor chairs are darling but not for a dining room unless you have a parlor table 💕☺️
I would use the chairs which are most comfortable. We sit in our dining room chairs for hours at a time, they were $250.00 a piece 20 years ago. You got a great deal on the Ethan Allen chairs.

I have seen decorators use a mix of different chairs at a table and it actually worked well. Another idea is to alternate the different colour of chairs around the table. Everything looks great! Happy Birthday 🎉

We are finishing up building our home (while living in it) and I have a handmade walnut table and “mismatched “ chairs that I’ve painted black. So each chair is a different style but they are all painted black. We love it as it goes really well with the rustic style of our home. Always love seeing your beautiful home. Happy birthday!!

Put contact paper on your dining room table. It will make the surface smooth and you can put your tablecloth on to cover the contact paper. Your home is adorable. ❤

Fiddleback are gorgeous!! The Ethan Allen chairs look like they’re from the 60s . They go with the style of your house. My mom sold hers a few years ago for 75.00 each , so you got a deal on them! They’re getting harder to find and higher in price! Enjoy!!

Some may just not like the styles but I love your style. You have an eye for style. You have an antique but richy style.
I like the new chairs that look similiar to the others but I would either paint them all the same color or alternate them every ither at the table. Maybe when you get the new table in there your chairs that fit on the ends upstairs will fit at that table.

I’m watching this as I am literally getting ready to pickup a marketplace purchase. Actually it’s free and waiting to hear about another one.
Love all the finds! The fiddleback look more formal and fit with a dining room to me. Have you ever tried restore a finish? I just got some and have not used it. It may help the chairs look darker. You could also try stain mixed with poly. That would be a lot easier than trying to strip them.

I love Facebook marketplace. I got a 6 foot gorgeous bathroom vanity with a solid granite top included with a sink and taps for $50. That has been my best find to date.
Ethan Allen chairs are so perfect for your dining room.
Definitely the fiddleback chairs. I just googled Ethan Allen fiddleback chairs, and one is $275. Also, they go with the period of your house. The parlor chairs were popularized in ice cream parlors because they’re small and don’t take up much space. They also aren’t very comfortable. Sorry. They look really cute with the plants on them!
You can get large clear plastic tablecloths to put under the regular tablecloth.

I would pant the chairs in a lightblue and grey color so you have less orange and a bit off a beachy style. I think that would look perfect in your beautifull home!!

FIDDLEBACK CHAIRS WOULD BE MY CHOICE. The antique highchair is AMAZING! Love it!
All that table needs is a good sanding and about 3 coats of sealer - then you could use it for dining. Even if you put it in the garage, it's still a good idea to do this so it's not rough to the touch for you guys or the girls. I hope this helps

All my quality wood, but mixmatched chairs, collected since we were married - went to my boys house, as they moved out earlier this year...all assorted, different stains..but they are fine with it all! yay!... I then purchased my Forever Set...and am happy... my suggestion would be to stop buying used/rickety/not quite right/all different color chairs... and not being 100% happy with it... spend the money, go out and buy a super good quality set , one that you will have forever...one that will stand the test of time.
You have quite the chair dilemma going and I'm no help because I liked them all. I have a ladder back with a woven seat that was my great grandma's. The seat has given away on one side so I have to kind of warn people not to sit there. 😀That Beyond Paint worked great!
I would have spray painted the bookcase white. I don't know why you apologize for the cost of items. $250 for the chairs is an absolute steal. If you don't like the orange tone of the wood and want them all to match, take them outside and spray paint them. I would keep looking in all the places you look for another set of 8 or 10 chairs of a different style that are big enough and solid enough for your husband and others to sit in them. Small fragile chairs are a disaster waiting to happen. I would have picked up that big basket from the trash also. You rescued it from the landfill and it is very useful many places in your home. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hi Kristen I love your thrifted items. There for a while everytime we thrifted we got chairs too. I love the style of the parlor chairs…but with your table love the fiddlebacks and they were still a deal. Ethan Allen is good and then to find some similar..a win. I love the high chair too. My husband will get an old chair..take out the bottom, put some netting or similar, gardening dirt and gift them. People put them in their flower garden and plant flowers in them. I have chairs in my attic, basement, chicken house…we use for lawnmowers, garage…chairs everywhere. I hope to sell some stuff on Marketplace, but don’t have a clue on how to sell anything. I just know how to buy. 😮 I love all your linen shirts. I wore one today..love them. Take care. Oh love your picture wall in guest room….so pretty.
Oh and Happy 35 th birthday. For my thirty fifth we had not planned anything and I had on old shorts and my husband said his mom had something for me. He asked if I was going to change and I said No..just going to your mom’s. Well he had a surprise birthday party for me and rather than been thrilled I was like I look awful..but forgot about it and had a good time. He has not done that since.😂😂😂😂😂.
