This theme really embodies the silver age, an era of nothing but campy, yet exciting, fictional wonders.
Totally, and I love it
you took the words right out my mouth
completely agree
Your downplay.
The composer for The Incredibles making the music for Fantastic Four feels... correct.
Also the composer of Doctor Strange, Spider Man Home Trilogy, Thor 4, and Werewolf by Night (also its director). He might be the most dedicated composer for Marvel.
@@joea4058 he also made the theme for the Batman. Dude really knows how to make a good superhero soundtrack.
@@joea4058don’t forget Up. God his music for that movie was beautiful and heartbreaking
His music for Lost was really amazing as well.
Well, The Incredibles is based off of F4 anyway... Duh lol
I love how the theme captures that "Looking to the future" kind of vibe the Fantastic four and Richards himself.
Fr
Facts! It also give me Epcot + Tomorrowland vibes
This theme for F4: is just awesome. This theme has a retro 1960's futuristic feel in every beat of this score.
I really enjoy retro-futurism and Michael Giacchino does it very very well
I am loving this it sounds magical and retro
It sounds like the most joyful Star Trek ever to me, which is honestly the correct vibe for F4 imo
Pretty much like his score for Incredibles. That movie’s aesthetic was futuristic 1960s.
I got to say, its fantasic.
Say that again?
@@mikez4388 It’s fantastic
@@aaedmusaYes it is.
@@mikez4388 Guys I think I got it
I see what you did there!
0:00 - 1:00 Marvel Studios intro
1:00 - 2:30 Origins story by narrator (very 60s style)
2:30 - 3:10 Presenting Mr Fantactic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing
3:10 - 4:24 Introducing the retro-futuristic world and title card
NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW IT IS CALLED FIRST STEPS AND THE FIRST NOTE (the key) IS THE SAME AS THE MARVEL OPENING THEME WHICH GIACCHINO ALSO WROTE
One of my favorite composers. People’s always tell me they’ve never heard of him and I reply “you may not know his name, but you know his music!”
Did this JUST happen? They must be very happy with the theme, previewing it this often this early. I love it so much
Yep! Uploaded as soon as on I stopped recording!
@@BrandonDavisBD I watched a video of Kevin saying there was something special at the end, was it this? So awesome to hear it live!!
I think they hurried the main theme out for the test footage, similar to how Giacchino had a main theme ready for the “The Batman” test footage, just so they can get a sense for what vibe they’re trying to go with visually and musically
They music was part of the teaser trailer at SDCC this year and they played the full song played here at D23 for people to hear on it's own. I think Michael Giacchino is really happy with this piece.
@@TheJimMcC forgot they did that for the batman. i think i like that theme a lil more than this one. prolly bc i like batman way more than the F4😭
Releasing a snippet of the score a year in advance so we all know what the movie is going to be like is a baller move!
Very Star Trek-y. Feel that sense of exploration, both the wonder and forebodingness of it. The choir gives off original star trek theme vibes - that odd, extraterrestrial tinged melody. Very nice.
That’s exactly what I thought!! This theme feels like joyous Star Trek, and that’s exactly the vibe I want from the Four.
Not for nothing is my favorite F4 exchange from a cartoon:
(While the Four are shrunk and continuing to shrink to quantum size)
Reed: Hank is going to be so mad!
Sue: Reed, PLEASE tell me you’re not in a shrinking contest with another scientist.
Reed: All right, I won’t tell you that. But I think I’m gonna win.
YES!! THIS!! And I love it so much.
Michael Giacchino keeps proving why he's the next John Williams. This theme is (lack of a better word) FANTASTIC!!!
“Say that again…”

It’s fantastic…!
It’s really INCREDIBLE just like his other score for this little known Pixar film.
The music is everything in a movie... especially super hero movies. Fantastic 4 is going to be soooo good!
STAN LEE WOULD START CRYIN IN PROUD WHEN IF HE HEARD THIS .
HIS ONE OF FIRST CREATIONS.
He's crying from heaven.
Love the “Fan-tas-tic Foouurr!!” Part
It's surreal that the Fantastic Four are back and in the MCU my most anticipated film for 2025
Mee too. The first characters from Stan Lee for Marvel.
That was awesome! Love how they're really putting the score in the spotlight for this one. Really wish they would do this more often.
Totally - especially as most of the scores have been largely forgettable
Yeah, which makes me think this will be a less common instance of an MCU project with wholly great soundtrack and even an iconic main theme that'll be reutilized years down the line. Usually the MCU doesn't emphasize their scores like this & the end product shows that it was fairly unremarkable because they feel fairly forgettable.
If I had a nickel for every time Michael Giacchino made a good ass superhero theme for a film directed by a guy named Matt this insanely early, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice right?
Hope they release official audio of the theme soon. Can't wait an entire year to hear it fr.
If you were to have a nickel for every time Giacchino made a good ass superhero score for a film about a family with superpowers you'd have to nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
But will you be able to hum it from memory ten years later?
@@bobbyk9815 Ask me in 2034 weirdo.
@@bobbyk9815 If we can still hum the Ratatouille, Incredibles, Star Trek themes he made over a decade ago, what makes you think no one can? Buddy you're asking the wrong questions
@@bobbyk9815 You got sort of hostile/ forward responses but I do get what you mean. It not being able memorable enough to hum it from memory years down the line is usually THE factor if this is going to be an all-time iconic score. The Batman's score instantly felt like one the moment I heard it in the test footage.
I don't know if I can decide on that now, but I get the feel this is the theme that will sound great while watching the film but it won't be one that loops in my head for years to come. And I'll have to take a few seconds to recall how it goes like every time I think of it.
This gives off an explore to the unknown kind of feel with fearlessness leading the way, Giacchino is gonna deliver us another banger.
You can sing along, "Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four, FAN TAS TIC FOUR"!!!
YOU'RE RIGHT!! 😃 I saw this and had to re-listen! Now my feelings on Giacchino are totally validated! I just finished posting how a lot of his work is very accessible in much the same way John Williams' work is (they make music that can be hummed along to). One of the golden examples from Williams is the Donner/Reeves Superman theme - the crescendo almost sounds like the music is saying "SU-PER-MAN!". Thanks for your observation! 😁
……I wish Stan was alive to hear that. The Fantastic Four was the start of the Marvel age of comic storytelling. Him getting to hear his first family characters getting this treatment would have been great.
Love how everything about this theme is in fours.
What strikes me is that towards the beginning there is this grand scale of build up to the start of an adventure, widespread and filled with wonder. And then as soon as it gets to 3:09, there is a bit of quirk but also a lightheartedness, a bouncy melody that says that they're a balance of seriousness but fun. This is just what I perceive though, I like it a lot.
A truly fantastic theme
I love that you sense/feel the similar DNA this has with The Incredibles, yet it is its own thing. Hearing this for the 1st time in Hall H, was pure ecstasy!
People who aren't hyped about F4 like I was should read about what they symbolize. One of the greatest teams in comics.
First creation of Stan Lee for Marvel and they were the team who opened the Marvel universe.
Only one word to describe it, Fantastic
Say that again?
@@radish_dash4155it's Fantastic
Honestly, I think this might be Giacchino's finest work. I'm already a big fan, but this? This is the perfect theme for the Fantastic Four. It really is just the feeling of reading a Jack Kirby book turned into music
From everything I'm seeing, It feels like Marvel is determined to nail this. And so far so good
I've never read the comics, so I wouldn't consider myself any kind of Fantastic 4 fan, but nonetheless I'm really hoping they get it right. I know enough that they've never had a really good adaptation for various reasons.
THIS THEME IS GREAT! Michael Giacchino is a great pick for the composer! I am so excited for the full soundtrack! This movie seems like it's going to be a lot of fun!
His work on the incredibles is genuinely LEGENDARY like it’s crazy amazing, it’s just right in every way that he does this films music
This is giving me Meet the Robinsons type of vibe
RIGHT OMG like retro-future
Giacchino never miss! Thanks for the upload Brandon.
Lol. Whatabout when his Dr. Strange theme was the exact same as his Star Trek theme?
@@dreamtheater858 I hate when people say this; yeah, they share a similar progression at first, but eventually his Strange theme evolves into something completely different in the B portion of the motif.
Michael always dropping straight BANGERS!
Makes me wanna cry
I cannot stop rewatching this 4️⃣
Got to see this live! It was such a great thing to experience
This Theme Truly Manages Me To Hear What I would hear If Jack Kirby F4 Art Had Music
If the movie is at the same level as the score, the FF will bring the MCU back to its glory days. Making the Avengers again the central team of the Saga is a mistake, it should be - Infinity Stones Saga/ Avengers , Multiverse Saga - The fantastic four, House of M Saga - X-Men.
Ehh I don’t really care about the MCU overall at this point, I just want good movies that stands on its own, please no more after credits that leads to nowhere
Mutant Saga fits better
Exactly! You get it.
First time i wasn’t a fan. I got chills this time
This is a wonderful mix of John Ottman, Alan Silvestri and John Williams. It has similar melodies to Ottman’s score from the 2005 version of Fantastic Four but with the flair of William’s score for Lost in Space or Superman. There’s also hints of Silvestri’s Back to the Future and Giacchino’s Star Trek or Lightyear scores in the mix too. I really love how the choirs are chanting and actually said the name of the heroes in the end of the cue. This sounds very hopeful, catchy and upbeat but also a bit cinematic and bombastic as well. I also like the subtle use of those retro or old school sounding synths or electronics in the mix as well.
The soundtrack sounds fantastic, like superhero movie soundtracks should be.
Say that again
Fastest updates in the land. Preciate it BD!!
This theme gives me hope that this movie can be a rebirth for the MCU, things need to change if the franchise is going to continue and the FF could be the team to jumpstart it
It would make sense for the Fantastic Four to do that. They're practically the main characters of Marvel comics.
Like the Biggest franchise in history that just made a record breaking movie needs a jumpstart.
@@redrick8900 I'm not talking about money but in terms of quality, there were stinkers before Endgame but the most recent phases have been creatively direction less and uninspired. Watching this in surround sound on my TV. Sounds like I’m right there with you at the Hollywood Bowl. Crazy how modern phones can capture multi-directional sound so well. (As yours has here.)
Hopefully we'll see Giacchino honor the 1967 FF Cartoon theme.
damn this is an absolute masterpiece I am simply in love with this score holy crap
I can tell from the get-go this movie is gonna be something special
Waiting for Doom's Theme... 👀👀👀
I just hope they reveal the real Doom soon. But lord knows they’re gonna put the spotlight on RDJ and make everyone who hadn’t been introduced to the incredible character of Doctor Doom think that he’s just “evil Iron Man”, and that’s all there is to him.
@@CobbleBompsterEvil Iron Man is a superlative place to start, though, especially in the MCU with it’s more than a decade of firmly establishing Tony Stark as both the smartest man on Earth and supremely self-confident. What a way to establish Reed’s cred as The Smartest Man if he’s the one making essentially-Tony-Stark insecure about his intellect.
I really hope they do something MF DOOM related, doesnt have to be big, just a small nod to a lyric or something would be insanely cool
@@CobbleBompster The Idea that he's going to be Iron Man has no basis in reality.

you can smell it only from the score that something really good is getting cooked for us
Thanks for the upload. Michael is a MASTER, what a wonderful score. Every reveal from this movie has been amazing.
Sounds better hearing it from the beginning. The first video I saw of this missed the horn section introduction.
Michael giacchino is amazing

4:02 FANTASTIC FOUR!! 4️⃣
they’ll probably play this when they launch up in space. fits the scene tbh
Can’t wait for this movie
thank you so much for filming this!
Loving the 90s cartoon theme here. Definitely reminds me of watching the animated series growing up and definitely heard the theme tune through this here. Sounds amazing! Still love the theme from the 2005 film, but this sounds Fantastic and hearing the choir sing "Fantastic Four" was genius! Can't wait to watch this next year! Always loved the Fantastic Four - loved the cartoons, played the video games, loved the 2005 film, the 2015 was a disappointment, but I got high hopes for the MCU to do the first Marvel family justice; they've redeemed two Human Torches (Chris Evans as Captain America and Michael B Jordan as Killmonger), now they need to redeem the whole team!
Franklin Richards is coming...
Don't mess this movie
This might be blasphemous to say, but Michael Giacchino is becoming my second favorite cinematic composer. In case anyone is wondering, John Williams is my #1. My second favorite was Hans Zimmer, and while I love a lot of his work, it's often too abstract to be able to hum. Giacchino's work has that accessible feel that Williams stuff has.
If john williams make a compose for fantastic 4 that will be like superman march level
The guy who blew the tits off of the Star Trek 2009 OST dials up the OG Star Trek to compose “FF:First Steps”

I'm sooo hypedddddd for FANTASTIC FOUR
If I were a movie or tv producer, I’d back a truckload of money onto Giacchino’s lawn to keep him on exclusive retainer.
