This is amazing in two ways. He was just hired last month, and principal photography has just gotten underway. Since scoring the picture is at the end of a long production process; how is this in the can? It’s a testament to Giacchino and his own sensibilities as a filmmaker and deep knowledge of the genre that he can commit to a theme at this early stage. As well, holy heck the technology to create that bombast with acoustic realism presumably without an orchestra. Pure speculation on my part. What say you those that were there?
When the original composer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had to leave the project, Lucasfilm brought Giacchino aboard and he put together a decent store with very limited time. Giacchino is pretty good at producing quality material under serious time constraints, though of course the less rushed he is the better.
He did exactly the same thing for The Batman. It's incredible. He helped set the entire atmosphere for the production of the film
