Danny Mullen, Ryan, and Adam absolutely kill it when they are together. I love the chemistry between Adam as an older guy and the point of view from Danny and ryan.
The paintball idea for businesses totally makes perfect sense! I am familiar with Ryan Long's work and dig it. I enjoyed him and Danny Mullen's company on this one. The guest this week have been great!
Good group discussion, great chemistry. Yoko is awful, never got Lou Reed either. It may be an East Coast v West Coast thing. I was born and raised in Southern California as well and find myself agreeing with Adam on so many points and have a very similar world view and some similar experiences. He's one of the most consistently insightful and reasonable people I have been exposed to over the years. He and Dr. Drew were a great team on Love Line.
Adams Velvet Underground hatred reminds me of the Frank Zappa fans. You could be in a party jamming to Van Halen and there's always the dude that rolls in and says "why are you listening to THIS you should be listening to Zappa"
JFC I just had the most vivid flashback ever. ‘You haven’t heard great music until you’ve jammed to Zappa, man! These posers are just canned studio music with no original thoughts between them!’
but Frank Zappa is high caliber, academi type music. The argument about Velvet Undergroun or Yoko, is that they are wrongfully held at the same level in the same conversation with the likes of Zappa.
I've been listening everyday for about 10 years and love the show, but I have to say, the ranting about bad music is when I start hitting the FF button. Adam doesn't like Lou Reed....we get it.
Adam, fairly new to your podcasts and must say, today was great. I’m guilty as charged regarding synthesizers on 80’s records. I made my career as a session keyboardist in LA in the 70’s and 80’s. Synths changed everything. Without them, I never could have come up with the arrangement for Bette Davis Eyes or the intro/outro of Oh Sherrie or Here I Go Again. Yes there were lots of lame records, but there were some cool ones too. Looking forward to seeing you in Nashville Dec 2. Best, Bill Cuomo
@wildwillyfox Bill- your work with Mark Knopfler, Synyrd and others in Nashville may have cleansed the sins of your 80's synth work. Although I do still cringe when listening to the keyboards on some Whitesnake songs... Rock On.
@@jaredtaylor326 I just read your post in the same manner of speaking as the great Jared Taylor. I wish I could adopt his accent or dialect or whatever it is. MidAtlantic is what I think they called it.
The charitable way to explain the Bob Seger lyric is that hes singing it to the audience who might be different ages already. So he says Woman for the older audience listeners. And Girl for younger listeneners and says OR to be somewhat personable to each.
Wrong Again Adam! Minister of Defense was Reggie White not Deacon Jones. White was a ordained Minister saw him leading group prayers often on field and sidelines! P.s Deacon Jones nickname SECRETARY of Defense.
“If I could fly” by Benny mardones is the ultimate example of statutory rape rock. The video is hilarious The fact that it wasn’t brought up in this episode is a colossal itch that was not scratched
The genius of Coop's makeup is that it was always intended to be creepy, not pretty so it works just fine 50 years on. And yeah, the Alice Cooper Band were great songwriters under all the showbiz razzle-dazzle. Love Adam but goddamn he's got shitty taste in music.
15:09 The official Deacon Jones clip on the NFL or ESPN youtube channel finally edited out the "or a woman" line after all this time. I'm pretty sure it was after they saw all the comments laughing and saying Adam Carolla led me to this clip lol. Obviously the full clip like you're watching is on youtube elsewhere. Dammit, Adam knows 😂😂, I thought I was quick
Yeah, lol, well, dude on the left mentioned a few good ones, but they got talked over. I am also not a big fan of his solo stuff, but he wrote some awesome songs with the VU, but a lot of the thrill with the VU is also knowing what the scene was and the things going on there. Somebody'd have to sit Adam down and explain off air what's going on, and I have a feeling he wouldn't want to listen, hahahaha.
"they" worked really hard to make Greta look like a child. she was 16/17 when they put her on magazine covers in pig-tails wearing a little pink hoodie with her hands barely coming out of the sleeves. Also, If she didnt speak english with a British accent we would have never heard of her. Americans associate a British accent with intelligence.

English Beat, Specials, Selector....this era of music would not be the same without these bands. Some of the best music of the late 70s early 80s
Ryan is great. So is his cohost Danny Polischuck. Please have him on too sometime
Agreed, this podcast has the wrong Danny
Danny, Ryan, Kyle and Adam should do a pod together
How you gonna leave out Papa Leo ?

Thank you for starting to add Dawson's intros in, was missing those from the pod, but love watching the video.
"Guy wearing a cereal box on his head." That was awesome!!!
Alice Cooper is awesome and Reggie White is “The Minister of Defense”.
I wish Ryan would have just awkwardly air drummed the entire show
Mayo Mullen in the house! 🥚🥚🥚
Love Ryan long's comedy and as the voice of Sublo on his cousins animated show, Sublo and tangy mustard.
