Were you allowed to list the 1st studio? I'm just noticing my apartment says "no short term rentals like AirBnb, VRBO, etc".... although, Peerspace is different I think.
Yes! I got permission from the owners before signing the lease. Peerspace is different but would still recommend checking with your property manager to be safe!

I love our young generation getting out their and making money. Next time you sign a lease whether it is 1 year 3 years or 5 years make sure that the lease says, example... This is a one year lease with three one-year options or this is a three-year lease with 3. 3-year options. So what this means is every three years you can renew your lease at your option or you don't have to. This is so the landlord cannot throw you out for nine years but you have the option to leave in 3. I hope that makes sense. Also be careful with triple net ( NNN) definitely do your homework on that.
@@BrandonEsparza you are very welcome. In 24 years I've done 4 leases. So Ive learned alot. Opened my first peerspace today. I'm a grandma of 3 and really want to spend time with my grand kids. Would be fun if you ever go out to help people like me for a video I'm first in line, Ok?
They knew I was renting on Peerspace before I signed the lease, but I think as time went on they caught on to how much it was making and/or grew to not like how many people were coming in and out of the building every day. So to them it might’ve been “pay this ridiculous amount of rent where we’re clearly ripping you off, or get out because it’s not worth it for us”. Crazy part is - I found the same unit on Loopnet for rent a couple months later for basically the same price I was paying, which is what it’s actually worth. That’s the problem with renting a unit owned by a big company / people I’ve never met - there was no relationship with them. To the owners, I was just another tenant. At my current studio though, I have a personal relationship with the owner/landlord and there’s definitely way more trust and respect on both sides.

I signed a 1-year lease too. My building was sold & the new owners won't renew my lease.
Aw so sorry to hear that.
Thank you Sharing!!!
Of course! Def hope this was helpful!
What do you guys think about this situation? What would you have done? Curious to hear your thoughts!
me personally I would have fought bro straight up.
Damn that's wild - did they raise the rent because they knew you were renting on peerspace?
