    "Today was the best Conservative budget since 1986"
    Nigel Farage in reference to Liz Truss' disaster budget

    It's annoying that it seems things didn't go well for her because of soft skills. When actually I think what the people want is for someone to just get on with it

    I've heard Rishi was very cruel to her during the Spectator Awards.

    Given time Liz Truss would risen to the occasion and probably been Prime Minister to this day. Her vision, small government and low tax, with a focus on rewarding wealth creators, was the right one. Instead we are lumbered with the NHS, public education, a costly welfare bill and high taxes.

    • @JamJam0189
      @JamJam0189 12 дней назад

      High taxes! The income tax rate is far lower than in the 1970's or early 1980's at one point it was over 70%, we don't want tax cuts for millionaires.

      @JamJam0189 If we reduce the tax burden on the rich, they'll invest. If we reduce the tax burden on the poor, they'll spend. If we shrink the government and let people choose which services they want to spend their money on, it liberates us all.

      @@austinbeige I agree with the first part. Disagree with he 2nd, if higher taxes drive people away from the country then Sweden would be poor they are not. Services if we pay for what we use then no to NHS services unless you need them don't pay, if you need a doctors appointment to cost would then be higher and we'd have privatised services like the USA. Our TVs could be changed costing millions so if we didn't want the BBC we paid no license fee and could not get access to BBC TV anymore. If we never used the library it would close down. And we'd pay for a bins to be emptied they'd go around with card machines

      The book has 17 pages of notes and acknowledgments, why don't you read it? If there were untruths then surely the publisher's lawyers would not have allowed those to be published for fear of a libel case. Sir Anthony Seldon has written similar books on PMs going back 20 years, treat yourself and have a read.

    Best budget ever according to your hero Nigel Farage. I'll just check mortgage rates to see if that was correct...

    She laughing all the way to the Bank she have an ex prime minister pension for life ?

    • @bobblehat6603
      @bobblehat6603 15 дней назад +1

      There is no specific pension for former prime ministers. All ex-PMs are entitled to claim an allowance of up to £115,000 a year for expenses incurred through public duties undertaken due to her position as a former prime minister, but this is not a pension. Liz Truss will not be eligible for the full amount.
