I was at one of the concert in Oslo in 94. THAT feeling when THAT disco ball came out of nothing above my head in the middle of THAT solo. Still get the chills just thinking about it. The whole show was a 11 out of 10. Beyond amazing.
Wow
I don't have to imagine being there - I was at 2 of the Earls Court gigs and they were 2 of the greatest nights of my life . The really weird thing about those nights was, when we were leaving EarlsCourt, thd crowd was almost completely silent. I can remember standing on the platform of the tube station and no- one said a word. We were all just looking at each other with that "WTF just happened" look in our eyes. Totally amazing.
Sounds a religious experience. Very jealous!
yes i was there aswel and i temember the silence at the end i had that wtf moment ............................
The entire band is effortless. Nobody looks like they're even working. Every note is clear as a bell. The drummer doesn't even look stressed, and he's laying down an extremely complicated beat. Not even breaking a sweat. Top 3 song all time.
I agree... So relaxed. I'm more stressed having a bath!
Top 3??? No No, My Man - Number ONE of all time - (so far lol)
@@BlueSky-cz6ix I won't argue with you there, don't get me wrong, #1 band all time. Just my opinion, but since this music, I hate the word died, isn't exactly with us anymore, my tastes have evolved. I'm more a Kenny Chesney, No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems kinda guy now,but get a good buzz on,turn on the lava lamp, and Floyding out, ain't a bad way to spend an evening with a lady either. Don't have a lava lap on my sailboat, but the stars are pretty nice. Capt.Bob, SV (Sailing Vessel) 27th Chance, Tampa Fl.
Pink Floyd has always been my favourite band. Since the late 70s.
My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. So I saw this concert twice, at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the video of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.
OMG ... why I never got off my behind to see them mystifies me now. Well done to you !
You should have gone 4 times. Kidding...I'm sure you would have if you could have. Imagine you are 16 yrs old and this was your first ever rock concert. It would be unfair to the next few as they probably wouldn't measure up to that first one. 😌
@@17Helton you would be ruined for life!
I was there. Years have have past since, I am still speechless
@@963460 lucky you! So cool
Saw the Division Bell tour in San Antonio. The heat from the lights was tremendous. The guitar punched you in the gut. Who says there is no heaven? I have been there.
I am jealous!
@@TheThamesmen then maybe I shouldn't tell you I saw this show 2 times in 3 days in 2 different cities S. Diego and L.A. Cal .best show ever .
@@raylangley797 okay that is showing off!
@@TheThamesmen Just blessed LOL
David Gilmour is what electric guitars want for Christmas.
Ha ha ....Brilliant!! We have a special coming up soon... Floyd High Hopes Vs Nightwish High Hopes. Watch out for that!1
The bass player on this is a very young Guy Pratt. Pratt has played with literally everyone from the 80s till the 2000s as a session player. He has also been in several movies.
Great info. Great career!
Also he married Richard Wrights Daughter,
If your friend went on the Division Bell tour with Floyd, does that mean she's on the stage in that video? Pulse is from the Division Bell tour.
Sam Brown, the lady he is talking about, is the blonde singer in the middle of the three.
SORROW, Live Pulse, 1994 (same concert) song-long solo with a few words thrown in. Subbed, love you guys.
I personally would say that Sorrow tops Comfortably Numb when it comes to the Pulse concert :)
@@AlpakaWhacker I agree with this, but it's close. Coming back to Life is some amazing uplifting guitar word, that end solo gets me every time.
@@glennbrock6560 Amen to that
Absolutely the best of the Pulse Concert. David Gilmour shows his true talent there, just blew me away, and I never ever thought anything could beat the Comfortably Numb performance
Saw them back in the early 90's at Cleveland stadium and at night of course and it was awesome and amazing. Total experience. Best concert ever.🔥🎧🤘😀
Okay Jealous!
Sam Brown was one of the three background singers on the pulse tour and actually does the backing vocals on the chorus of this track (comfortably numb) together with David Gilmore.
We know!!
Never saw this cut before so this was a real treat. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! I love Floyd
Insane!!
Totally!! With all the tech and lasers today this still wipes the floor clean! Are there any other tracks we need to see?
@@TheThamesmen High Hopes.......but.......let Nightwish play this PF song.... totally insane!
What was I doing in 1994 on this day? Knowing what I know now, I would have flown there for this. Magnificent!
Oh for a time machine!
As much as I loved the reaction, the connection and proximity to Gilmour and Sam Brown is what took this to the next level for me. New subscriber for sure. Keep them coming.
Alex we have a new subscriber so you have to tidy that desk behind you.
Not many people even know who Sam brown is they think she is just a backing singer
Btw, Richard Wright was reinstated as a full member by that tour. Just wanted to let you know...🤷♂️
I neer3 really for into pink Floyd until my earlygto mid 20's. Which wasn't very long 🙂 this song (and this live version) quickly became my favourite track.
I just cry every time I listen to this song. This guitar solo is historical! That was phenomenal and so emotional, that was just splendid and extremely powerful! I was there that specific day, I was really young. After the concert, we were walking in silence, thinking about this phenomenal concert, looking at the stage sometimes just to remember this moment forever before we leave for good. I also remember the smell of joints, especially in front of the stage (yes, that was, of course, forbidden, but ... Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd, right? Some people couldn't resist!). Now, when I listen to this guitar solo, I always remember that the sound was everywhere around us: spectacular, massive, imposing, powerful, but also perfectly clean! It was so impressive and so imposing. Like: the massive, colossal, powerful, and majestic Pink Floyd machine directly connected to your soul! And I can tell you that we were all vibrating.
90% of the time, during a concert, people are talking, laughing, and having good times; but during this concert, everybody was literally speechless. No stupid or annoying people. Everybody was just "connected". It was like, being in a parallel universe where everything was completely different. That was phenomenal and special, almost "magic" so to speak. And so many people were there, something like 16,300 people. I kept the tickets by the way, hehe - And today, I'm still proud to say _"I WAS THERE, WITH PINK FLOYD THAT DAY!"_
Perfect and beautifully written. Thank you for sharing
Lord, thy name is David Gilmour.
Little did the people at that concert know that they were destined to see music history in the making that night.
Truly the best
Believe me, having seen this concert twice, we knew there would be nothing that could ever compare! Felt this concert for days!
i was there on the 14th of october. what an experience, it was spectacular with those lasers flying over your head. what a solo.
No way - Lucky bastard
@@TheThamesmen it was'nt that night you watched, i went a couple of nights later.
Bass player is Rick's son in law, and he never ages
April 29th 1994 Irving Tx. Saw this show live and it was totally out of this world. Surrounded by lights and music. You felt every reverb to your core. Totally epic. Best concert ever! Nothing else even comes close. Great reaction!
Ohhh you lucky sod
Epic guitar solo!!!
Run Like Hell live Pulse was the next song and end of the concert. It's an explosive performance.
Thank you for sharing history. The second part solo in this version is really something on it`s own. " I wish I was there". Regards from Sweden.
Alvin Lee! One of my heroes. Woodstock! One of the great guitarists and a brilliant jazz guitarist. Saw TYA live in Guildford Civic Hall circa 1976. Who were you related to? So interesting. Love the albums 'Cricklewood Green' and 'What' and especially the track ' I'm coming On' with one of my favourite solos of all time. Very sad he passed away too young.
My Dad is Chick Churchill (keys) Alvin was great
@@TheThamesmen Wow! You must be very proud. Such a great band! Thanks for your message.
next one from Pulse concert - Coming back to life = 3 guitar solo 😎👍
Enjoy your reactions and stories. Tt doesn't get better than PF! I was also blessed to see Alvin Lee perform twice in the 80s. What a great guitarist and vocalist! RIP...
What guitar performance comes close to this? My all time favorite is Stevie Ray Vaughan performing Texas Flood live at El Mocambo. Tell me his guitar isn't connected directly to his heart. RIP Stevie.
SRV maybe a great guy to watch. Good call
I've seen most of the top performers from the 60s n 70s and PF's last 3 tours. This PULSE tour was by far their best and by far, the best of all the other bands I've seen. A short list for comparison: Clapton, Moody blues, Santana, Elton John, Queen, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, SRV, AC/DC, etc
Please do Floyd's "Run Like Hell" also from the Pulse tour. Great job!
Added!
Have you seen them do Echoes Live at Pompeii, awesome.
My friend hasn’t. ... that has to be next!!
Not yet!
Also Echoes live at Gdansk, the final time played with Gilmour and Wright, I like it even better than Pompeii because it is the end result of decades of the two playing together.
And Comfortably Numb with David Bowie is really great as well, and underrated I think.
@@christhompson9140 that was truly magic. something sublime. perfection

WOW , just WOW!! Thank you Pink Floyd and Thank You Alex and George. ❤
Thank you Melissa and thanks for watching!! Are there any other songs we should check?
@@TheThamesmen , I also love Shine On You Crazy Diamond or Wish You Were Here from the Pulse Tour. I'm assuming you are asking for a Pink Floyd song but if you are also looking for other artists I have a couple in mind. Lol Anyway Thank You for asking me what I'd like to see you fellas play, not used to being included. 😊
Recommend High Hopes as the next listen.. a classic
So true.... My friend does not know this tune and I adore it!! Great choice. We should be friends.
I was at Earls Court in 94, think they played 10 nights it was unbelievable, I will never get bored of watching that, great memories.
I think it was 20
@@jrandall5995 it was 14 nights, With the first night being cancelled when the number 9 seating rig collapsed when full.
I had tickets in the collapsed seating area at Earl's Court the night after the concert was stopped. We turned up and were offered a full refund and free side seats so although we didn't get the full scenic effect we could still feel the heat from the pyrotechnics. The ticket price was £25!
A lot of people including pink floyd fans don’t even know about Sam brown they think she’s just a backing singer
Or her heritage, her mum and also Dad. Many thanks for watching! I need more Floyd.
@@TheThamesmen you could check out echoes live in Gdańsk it’s the last time Dave Gilmore and Richard Wright done it before Richard died it’s probably the best version of echoes out there.
@@strongestfan9823 pretty sure Alex planning to show me this one
@@TheThamesmen it gives me shivers every time. Thanks for replying.
@@strongestfan9823 my god. Echoes in Gdańsk was amazing. Hopefully post the edit tomorrow.
I just watched Sam on zoom chat, talking about the Division Bell tour, I hadn't realised Vicky was only a few months old, I guess the youngest member of Pink Floyd, it's a claim to fame... 🤪
I was there...1994 ...RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. Wow...what a show....I'll never forget it.
OMG really . . . . . I'm hoping to see Gilmour or Walters live. I very Jello!! Are there any other tracks you think I need to do?

Cool reaction, even though this video has way too high playback speed
I thought it sounded weird.
Really? It seems OK this side and all is fine. I wonder if it's something to do with YT blocking content. Sorry about that!
@@TheThamesmen Yes, origianal is 9min 07sec in normal tempo, your lasts for aprox 8min 44 sec :) ruclips.net/video/7kWl-ZGMwkQ/видео.html
And you wonder how high can he go??? It's always higher!!
And yeah... Sam Brown, just amazing!!!! Wow.
I do hope people are watching your videos all the way through the end, it is always so worth it.
Guy Pratt is the bassist, and i dont think he was born when this song came out. David is in another realm in his solos. HE is a master at picking back up players.
Mike - We just revisited this for rewind week (out tomorrow)
I would absolutely love to hear the story of your lives. All the talk you are having interests me to no end, cause I love Floyd, and Alvin Lee, and Golden Earring. Plus your Guitar Gods segment was hilarious and phenomenal.Keep doing what you are doing, it’s awesome in my books. We are probably around the same age, and I am Canadian. Our awesome bands are a well kept secret! Lmfao

We do slip in bits of our story here and there but you have to watch all our videos!😉
You want to see a great laser show, watch "Sorrow" from the same Pulse concert.
We will check that out! Many thanks for the suggestion
@@TheThamesmen You asked for something that can top this performance of Comfortably Numb - the Pulse version of Sorrow is as close as it gets. I'd love to see your reaction to it.
Great stuff guys. But what do you top that performance with? ...... you can't its impossible🤘 how about freebird by skynyrd another classic guitar solo
I really think the music and the show from this tour still will hold up today. Actually, this show should be duplicated and be performed again at a world tour, it will attract masses of people. I've worked at hundreds of shows in 2000-2020 but none have come close to this concert imho. The Division Bell tour produced the best concert performances ever, it should get a world tour again. Just like regular art, the people of earth deserve to experience this again.
I would go..... I just got tickets last week for walters! his dates have just appeared for 2 years time.
Great work :)
Thanks for the visit Gibbler.... Be well and thanks for watching!
i saw them in 1988

Also what were they like?
@@TheThamesmen Amazing! great light show, stunning setlist lucky to see Gilmour/Wright/Mason in 1988 and 30 years later i saw Waters so during my lifetime i saw them all living
Maybe best Pink's song ever.
My personal opinion
David's solo is everything, better than a bl.. j.b 😇
Agreed!! Thanks for supporting us and being here.
They're not mutually exclusive 😜
Your friends girlfriend is Sam Brown!?!that's awesome,I love her work
this video plays the song a semitone higher for some reason
Did you do The Great Gig in the Sky?
Not sure
Sorrow Pulse 94 next please .......PLease....please
And ....HIGH HOPES " please.....please
I gotta do this! I love High Hops and my friend hasn't heard it!
You miss all the lights show
You're a little off on the history of the band. It was during Momentary Lapse of Reason / Delicate Sound of Thunder that Gilmour and Mason were Pink Floyd, with Wright just being a session player. However, by the time of The Division Bell / Pulse / this video, Wright had once again rejoined the band as a full member.
Cool. Thanks for the correction. We need all the help we can get!
Can’t get any better than that show! But if u love the guitar solos check out Stevie Ray Vaughan . LIVE! Texas Flood. Different genre but anothe GREAT!

New subscriber here, and this is a 10 for me. Just looked through your 70's classic rock playlist and it seems a bit thin on Led Zeppelin, are you not fans of them maybe?
Oh we are but not sure where to go. What can I surprise Alex with?
@@TheThamesmen lots of people will say Stairway, Kashmir, Levee, Lemon Song, Dazed and many more will say MSG 73 live any song, but 'Since I've been loving you' especially. All their songs are great, whether it's their studio albums or some (not all) of their live performances, their diversity ensures there's something to suit every musical taste.
Personally, I think the song that showcases each of them, both individually and collectively, to their best is 'What is and what should never be' but, in truth, you can honestly just pick any 1

It could be when we ripped it. Sometimes they do that!

You gaus changed the pitch of the song. Thumbs down
Hi - Its not us, sometimes when you rip the track the pitch can change,. We think it's something inbuilt to make sure people don't rip. Anyway we are still working a way around this as it only happens on some tracks and not others, so we are baffled. Be well
