Thank you Sir! I had this dock now for months and I couldn't figure out how to get dual extended monitors without hooking up a HDMI to my MacBook Pro for the second monitor. I have just added a new USBC to Display Port cord to fix this and only have a single connection to my MacBook. Bravo Sir!!!
Thank you so much for this video! Everything I was reading on Apple's support forums suggested that you simply could not use multiple external displays in extend mode, and I was almost ready to believe them! The tip to connect one of them through USB-C was just what I was looking for!
Hi, Thanks for all your excellent reviews. I and many others are having issues driving three monitors from this dock via the two DP ports and the HDMI port. One of the monitors connected via DP goes black for a few seconds several times a day. No errors are shown or logged. A replacement dock from Dell and changing the cables made no difference. The only solution has been to buy a TB to HDMI cable and use that instead of one of the DP ports. But it's annoying we can't enjoy the full functionality of this dock. I'm using an XPS 17 9730 laptop with U2515H monitors but others have had the same issue with this dock using other laptops and displays.
8:29 this pro shot really helped me identifying what I have done wrong. I had the USB-C at the wrong location. In that case the screens are mirrored. So for a year or so I used to directly connect to mac, but this was really annoying as I always had to remove to cables when I switched laptops. Thank you so much for this video, very helpful!
The actual board between the WD19TB/s and WD22TB4 are identical on the inside with the exceptions of the TB3 vs TB4 interface. The newest one is missing the audio codac chip for the headphone and micorphone sockets. DELL does sell a customer upgrade kit for the WD19TB/s, allowing you to take it upto the WD22TB4 spec. DELL's docks does have a fan inside the unit, for the majority it's very quiet.
I bought wd19s today. this is supposed to be really good. that's real. but if 'hdmi to hdmi' or 'USB-C to hdmi' is connected to dock together, your monitors doesnt show. so you have to prepare 'hdmi to hdmi' or 'USB-C to hdmi' with 'DP to hdmi' if you wish to watch 2-3 monitors.

As for connecting the phone to the WD22TB4 it will work as I have tested this and being honest here it is a bit shaky I would say about 50% of the time it will detect the external monitors connected to the dock via the android phone.
