@@ninja_tony That's a beautiful walk, for sure. Unfortunately, that's how I walked out of Manhattan on 9/11, and the memories are still kinda raw, even after all this time. Really, though, I need to just go *do* it and layer a few good memories onto the pile!

NYC is a great place to visit as there is always something new to see and experience each time you go. The first time I went was part of a round the world trip when I was 21. We were roughing it in a hostel but had fun exploring and using the subway. I saw my first ever baseball game at Yankee Stadium and ate in a proper American Diner. We were there for about 2 weeks and got to visit the World Trade Center on a gloriously sunny day towards the end of our trip...the date (because I still have the ticket) 31st July 2001

I LOVE how you honored my city! ♥️ We used to walk up to the Statue of Liberty crown once a year, it was one of my elementary schools day tip. McSorley’s is a must for a tourist visit. You can always find a spooky tour to go on, NYC has some crazy history. I’m glad you had a great time 🥰♥️😘
And yes, the pigeons are assholes. They nested on the terrace of the apartment I grew up in and we couldn’t bring ourselves to get rid of them with, first eggs, then babies in the nest 😩 After the babies flew we demolished the nest and bleached the hell out of the corner they nested in to get rid of all signs & scent of pigeon 🤢 And put an owl statue up to keep them away. Pigeons are afraid of Owls.
And Sara Paulson is a really nice person. Everyone I grew up with works on Broadway so I get to meet or at least hear all about who’s starring and how they’re behaving towards the house staff of the theaters 😂

I've lived in NYC nearly 40 years -- I'm a born and bred New Yorker -- and I've only once visited the Statue of Liberty, and only walked near the base, never been up top. Same for the Freedom Tower (One World Trade Center) observation deck. I walked around the park downstairs, but never been up. (I have been to the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building.)
But based on some of the comments here, Mrs. Ashleigh, had you advertised your trip, you could have had fans lining up to meet you. Thanks to you -- and hubbin, of course -- for visiting and sharing about your visit.

    I was just there!!!
Took my son on his first trip to NYC in October and we did the One World Trade observatory and saw the Ghostbusters fire station and walked Times Square, of course...Swear we stood in at least five of the same places y'all did!
...The World Trade memorial was important to see... The very first thing I did on my very first trip to NYC in 1989 was visit the original World Trade Center observatory...
The last time I was in that part of the city was in the summer of 2002, when it looked very, very different...
I'm a New Englander, but I love New York City
...and we rode the subway everywhere... night and day... it's really not that scary... yeah, there's some weirdness sometimes, but it's mostly normal folks trying to get where they're going just like you are

On 9/11, my employer was hosting a blood drive and I was the representative/liaison working with the Red Cross. I had spent the Monday night before calling from a list of regular blood donors and taking appointments for Tuesday. I had about 10 appointments and once it became clear America was under attack, we had an unbelievable response to the blood drive. Red Cross arrived that day with 20 donation kits and they got some more delivered during the day. However, Red Cross' resources were strained that day and they couldn't spare many supplies to the ongoing blood drives. When I left work that night after 6PM, we had over 30 donations and a list of another 800 people who called or stopped by. It was an amazing response to a horrible tragedy and it gave me a lot of faith that people cared.

I know I'm late to the party here with my comments. 😂 I just discovered your channel, and I like the content. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in NYC! Next time, please check out The Edge. From what I understand, it's the kind of place where you'd be best advised to avoid eating or drinking beforehand! Regarding the Towers, it is my understanding that the reflecting pools only cover about 70% of the original footprints. They were massive. The new building is higher given it has a taller antenna, but the originals each had a higher habitable top floor (110 floors formerly vs 104 now). The North Tower stood at about 1,720 feet tall (1,368 feet high plus a 360 feet or so for its antenna). The South Tower was 1,362 feet high (no antenna). That means the 407-foot difference between old and new is significant for the South Tower, but the difference is much less when comparing to the North Tower. Finally, the two towers were not the only buildings destroyed on or due to 9/11. Included in the leveled buildings were numbers 3, 4, 6 and 7 World Trade Center. Inclosing, here's wishing you continued success!

My 1st time to NYC Was Oct 94. I was 32. In town for opening night of the NHL season. My Bruins were in town to play the Rangers. Bumped into Marion Ross in Time Square . Met Jasmine Guy at Planet Hollywood restaurant . So you met Sarah. Imagine feeling that every time you go to a Con !

I've been to the US once so far. It was in 2007 and I was going to a place just outside of Philly with my hockey team. The plane landed at Newark so got to see a bit of New York from the sky, including ground zero because they hadn't started building the new tower and yeah... It was _massive_ 🤯

I drove a bus in Manhattan for 28 years. I am retired now. You had more fun in three days than I had in my whole career. I hope you got the cheese plate at McSorleys. I laughed so hard the first time I got it. They sat a plate with some cheese on the table and a full pack of Saltines. I went there three times and I don't remember leaving the place. Good Times!

Cool stuff! I made it to NYC in 2019. I did the Empire State Building instead of WTC. I also saw Times Square, the bull and the Statue of Liberty. I didn't climb it...

What an amazing trip you had! So thrilled that you enjoyed it!
I always remember one visit with an old boyfriend of mine. Great time BUT we kept arguing which was the correct direction to get to our destination. After a number of times taking his incorrect route for several blocks, he realized I was always right...so that worked out! 😂
I'm a shopaholic so I always map out and make a plan to hit every store on my list. Loooots of walking. I pulled a muscle and ended up literally dragging my left leg behind me all thru Manhattan for 3 days....worth every step!
Also love the Met, MOMA, and Guggenheim Museums (art and fashion and the theater always my go-tos on trips)
So as many times as I've been to NYC, I know there's soooo much more to see. Every trip there is different. Thanks for sharing your adventures!!!!

I feel i need to tell you this:
I was going through a really bad time during the pandemic, my girlfriend left me, I was ill, and I was depressed due to death and people going away. I started watching your videos and they would always make me happy, it was like hanging out with a friend. When you upload a sad video, I cried as well because you are amazing. I wish you nothing but the best, you are more than a RUclipsr, you are a friend, a best friend, I hope your day is as awesome as you.
P.S. My wife loves your videos as well, and she says she can't wait for more reactions.

On your next visit, the Highline, The Met, and a Broadway show are all worth visiting. A Rangers game you and hubbin might like too!

My favorite thing about going to big cities is the stuff you didn't know you could do until you get there. There's almost always a concert or comedy show that you can't pass up. I got to see Victor Wooten in Atlanta just by walking down the street and happened to see his name on a marquis. Bought a ticket that day, saw him that night. One of the best concerts I ever went to. I almost got to see Dave Chappelle when I went to San Francisco, but I left one day too early.

Great trip. Something to see is the crater of Haleakala on Maui. Standing on the edge of the crater, the whole of Manhattan can fit inside the crater. Awesome. The volcano makes up more than three quarters of the island. Go visit if you haven't.
