Killing the ghosts isn't releasing them. The ghosts in Hollow Knight aren't like traditional ghosts, they're not trapped or bound to the plains and there's no after life either. The ghosts are more like memories, they're the dreams and memories of what came before. This is why killing them gives essence. By killing the memories of those "ghosts" you're essentially wiping out all and any memory or past of that person, they essentially no longer exist. That's why revek doesn't remember the other ghosts once you kill them all, there memories are no longer there, and so she doesn't remember them. That's why the Radiance infects everyone in the game, she's terrified of being fully forgotten, and will do anything to survive, hence infected the city and lashing out in desperation and anger.

But I felt so bad about it,that I started a new game again and let it be xD
So you absorve than or you free them? I don't get and now i m felling worried for do this tô the gravekeeper in dirthmouth
I wonder why these ghosts weren't bosses they're so much more creatively designed then most of the actual bosses in the game
Ah yes millibug the strongest bug of them all
IIRC, they are Kickstarter backers
Bro why does everyone here think Revek is a girl
no idea probably because he looks like he is wearing a skirt
I did this the stupid hard way, i kept taking souls while he was killing me, then i would come back, retake my soul, and start taking souls again until it was over, i didn't have the dash upgrade to attack him, and it's too hard to strike him without it, possible, but too hard
What have You done you monster
You... Monster...
Hey question, did you NEED you kill everyone to continue the story ? Real question.
if you don't want to kill them there is a secret tree past the last soul
Im telling mahself that i release them to afterlife , but still feel sad that i nailed all
I don't want to do this but idk will it effect the game or something or its just a side quests??
I mean if not killing them doesn't effect my game I will not kill them
(idk but i feel kinda sad after listening their stories let them enjoy now why kill them? )
Damn. Wish I seen this earlier. I went in there with 2,500 souls and decided to counter attack with the the regular weapon. Countered him many times and in one of my attempts I lost all the souls.
Souls???
@@juniperrodley9843 he means geo, probably confused with souls from dark souls, the currency of that game
I didn't have this game so i wanna ask something
What happened when you play the game after the bad end and the true end ?
Dark Dragon nothing, you completed it, got the achievements and saw the endings, you can return to do more stuff that you maybe missed, to 100% it or to check out update content. Or just to hang out on hallownest.
Also theres no true ending, all of them are equally true, just good, bad and neutral. (And theres a secret variation of the endings that you get if you follow a little mushroom man through the kingdom.)
@@thebrightking1897 actually the ending where you kill the radiance is considered the true ending
@@TheGuy_44 nope team cherry said it themselves
all ending are equally true
@@TrustedFemboy oh it’s just that everyone says the dream no more ending is the true ending but I guess it is false
silksong is probably going to take place after the dream no more ending
Man i hoped to fight them all ..
Sigh ~
I tried to dream nail Revek. Got jumped. Ran away and never tried it again lol
Is that an upgraded dash move you are using to counter? I only have the dash move and mantis claw.
i'm late, but it was shade cloak n sharp shadow
i don't care how Revek feels, thos poor ghosts!
Jesus, dude
I only used my dream nail, and I take it ahahahahah
Bruh, apparently Revek is a man, I always thought they were a woman
Monster.
