That’s nice but here’s how to make vanilla cupcakes!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 teaspoons almond extract
1 1/4 cups sour cream
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
For the Icing:
1 cup butter, room temperature
3 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon milk
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 muffin tins with 20 cupcake liners. Set aside.
For the Cupcakes:
Cream the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment for 4 to 5 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add the eggs 1 at a time, then add the vanilla, almond extract, and sour cream.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
With the mixer on low, add the flour mixture to the batter until just combined. Finish stirring with a spatula to be sure the batter is completely mixed. Make sure no lumps remain in batter.
Divide batter among 20 cupcake liners (or 40 mini) and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Bake for 8-9 minutes if making mini cupcakes. Allow to cool.
For the Buttercream Frosting:
Beat slightly softened butter on medium speed with an electric or stand mixer. Beat for about 3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
Add powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt with the mixer running. Increase to high speed and beat for 3 minutes. Add more powdered sugar if frosting is too thin or more milk if mixture is too thick.
Frost cooled cupcakes. There may be leftover frosting depending how much you use on each cupcake.
Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days and in the refrigerator up to 7.

Little did they know, Bebe secretly poured arsenic into Willow's pie while nobody was looking.

jinxes storyline would've been better if chad had won season 4. the fact that they had 2 underdog winner stories in season 4 and 5 back to back kinda made jinxxs win a little predictable and made me think adore was gonna win season 6 lmao

i feel like bobs storyline is underrated, she played into that „arrogant“ with the talent to back to up character really well.
She wasn't just arrogant, Bob embraced what is usually one of the doom critiques on drag race - "Cocky".
I agree she definitely did and it worked for her because she is actually good at what she does in my opinion one of the funniest queens EVER to be on drag race
I've always loved Yvie's edit. I've always considered it a neutral edit. They didn't try to hide her bluntness or make her look like a victim nor did they make her look like a villain. It's part of what makes her so likeable imo because you get to see her as a fully realized person and therefore you root for her to win. It's also part of why I enjoyed season 13 so much despite it not having a traditional villain character. It's just more fun to see it unfold that way.
Yvie's edit seems like one of the most realistic/accurate depictions of a winner we've seen

@caperclaw yes, I know Kandy would technically be the villain but like, there was so much growth of character stemming from Tamisha's elimination!! I feel that the writing of season 13 failed it a little, it was basically only showcased in untucked.

Carmen's story on España 1 is so interesting. She comes into the season as the confident fashion queen, and then she loses the first challenge to Hugáceo, so you're like "yeah, she's just a fashion queen, the judges see that too". But then the season moves along and you realize "oh, she can perform" "oh, she's funny" "oh, she's helping the other queens", and then she demolishes the finale and you realize she was freaking perfect all along.
I’m so happy Jack gave a shoutout to Carmen. She’s easily my favorite winner in a looong time.
when i watched season 5 for the first time, i was rooting for jinkx the entire time and it was SO satisfying to see her win. definitely one of my favorite ru girls of all time
Willow Pill in my opinion had such an underrated storyline. Throughout the entire season, even if she didn't have more than 1 win, you can feel the presence and force she had throughout the entire time. People were scared to mess with her because out of all the girls, she truly mastered how to play the reality tv show game as the master strategist of the season. Willow's storyline was like the combination of Yvie, Jinx, and Bianca's storyline if you think about the key elements that solidified her win.
Plus she, like Yvie, battled a preexisting condition and still excelled throughout s14. I think she will grow on people as a winner as time goes on.
i actually wrote my seminar in uni about jinkx monsoon's narrative in the show and how it reflects the classic archetypical hero's journey and the archetype of the hero. i got an A :)

seeing the past winners, it made me realize that the new seasons like 12, 13, 14, 15 got no storyline.
12’s storyline had to be reworked cause Sherry was supposed to win lol, and both Symone and Sasha have pretty clear storylines as the front runners on their season. 14 is a bit all over the place though, I think they didn’t really know who they wanted to win so it got very muddled.
13 had clear storyline: The winner didn't knew how to make anything she wears cause her clothes were made by pornstar-friend Marko Monroe and all her wigs were made by real winner of season 12 Gigi Goode.
Basically - winner didn't know a shit but Rose is white so let's crown Symone anyway
@@handsoaphandsoapI think it was really evident that Sasha was winning S15 because she's god damn Sasha Colby plus all the girls all season long fought about who was 2nd place, a self fullfilling prophecy. For S13 I think Ru really saw herself in Symone it's really what pushed her for that win. Season 14 really had too much going on all season long which is why it's hard really summarize it. But personally it would've nice to see an eliminated queen actually win with Daya.

14’s storylines are actually good but ruined by the season’s weird pacing. Willow’s edit as the underdog and the master strategist makes so much sense especially to the fandom.
The Vivienne had an insanely underrated character arc. She walked into the season with an entitled and cocky attitude, then mid-season hit a low point that humbled her and towards the end we got to see the more human side of her. While the other finalists’ egos grew larger as the competition progressed (based on the edit) she was able to grow from the experience.

I love The Vivienne- and that arc did it for me. I went from thinking she was a cold, cocky nightmare to realising she is the exact opposite
Sharon Needles was definitely the winner edit I feel captured me the most at first. Whatever she's done since, she definitely pioneered the quirky/punk/scary look in drag race, and was extremely disregarded in the beginning by the other competitors. And then her feud with Phi-Phi/Jaremi was epic and made her seem even more like the underdog to root for.

Raja is my eternal fave; she's literally the reason I started Drag Race. I knew her from ANTM and when I came across season 3 of Drag Race coming up and she was on there, I HAD to watch it.
Keiona's storyline was amazing !!! Never placed below the TOP 3, won twice and was robbed a couple of times as well before finally winning the whole season. Her biggest weakness was her lack of competitivity, she'd let other people outshine her to make the group look better

I think the worst storyline was willow’s in first episodes she was shown as an outside of the box powerhouse that could see what others couldnt, but they kinda of forger about her in the edit and in the last minute she won (not saying she didnt deserved, but the production could definetly gave her more flowers, there were like 90 episodes that season and she only won one of them???)
Personally, when I think of “deserving winner” storyline, I think of Shea in AS5. I fully was team Sasha when she won, but then seeing Shea on All Stars overcoming her past Drag Race experience (and also getting a snatch game redemption!) just brought me so much joy, and I do think that the whole drama with queens supposedly “campaigning against her” helped her storyline as well
Yvie is one of my favourite queens of all time. I instantly connected with how unique she was, and loved how she talked about her disability. I thought she was squandered on all stars 7 but still loved watching her be amazing on it.
Jinkx is another queen I love so much, how she won over that alliance was amazing.
I feel like if the producers really wanted to be shady, they would have had Alaska and Jinkx on All Stars 7
I always thought the same! like the potential was right there! the only explanation I have as to why Alaska wasn't on that season is that I think Alaska is close to production and RuPaul that they don't ever wanna see her lose, she is a potential winner pick for All Winners 2.
@@vadim1788she wasn’t there because WOW doesn’t like her anymore and no that’s not a conspiracy theory, if you listen to the race chaser unplucked podcast she literally says that around the time of starting the podcast they actually did reach out and made it clear they weren’t fans of it. and think about it have we seen her much doing drag race or wow presents stuff since 2018? pit stop yes but that’s a whole other production from WOW but no out of the closet, no appearances on the show, no secret celebrity drag race, no guest appearances on other WOW shows, you’d think she’d be an obvious guest for jinkx’s improv show she had last year. now i’m not saying i need her to be in everything obviously other people should get chances but i can’t be the only one that thinks it’s very bizarre and petty on WOW’s behalf that alaska used to be their golden child at one point like doing so many videos, doing a bunch of bts stuff at the finales but ever since 2018…nothing?

Heck I bet next year she’ll give jerami and tyra their own web show to add salt to injury . Like honestly I don’t get her. It’s a very specific amount of people too and out of the 200 alumni those few people are the ones she’s being vocally friends with . It’s very suss
what i‘m thinking is that they‘ll crown the other members of rolaskatox too in the next years. so they can get a 3rd rolaskatox season with all winners 2. maybe alyssa or coco too. so they basically can redo the greatest seasons of drag race being season 5 and all stars 2
My favorite winner storyline is Tyra’s. She had the best runway looks and the judges couldn’t get enough to her. Tyra might not have had the best attitude throughout the competition but she had a goal and that goal was to win.
Tyra was brilliant on the show. I always say controversy doesn't detract from talent and she's a key reason why.

Loved this one, and I agree so much about Bianca! Btw, I would love to see you talk more about international seasons! Your input is always great, and I would love to know what you think of seasons like France's or Philippines.
I'm very back and forth with Alaska's storyline on All Stars 2. She slayed the competition and had some great looks throughout the season, but there were several things with her edit that I think left a bad taste in the viewers mouths including mine. All Stars 2 was such an iconic season with an incredible cast! So many powerhouses and fan favorites in one season, and Alaska was definitely one of them. What I think worked against Alaska in the edit was that the producers showed Rolaskatox reforming again but this time Alaska wanted to focus on herself and not have a repeat of season 5, but the choices that were made by Alaska like for example her eliminating two loved queens who didn't really deserve to go home to save Roxxxy and Detox made it seem like Alaska was still very much a part of Rolaskatox. Also the tantrum she had right before the finale (although a bit understandable), did put doubts in my head that she was the right choice for the crown. On top of that, I think Alaska had the most obvious riggory of the season (Not being in the bottom for the rusical when she missed several words and her padding was off, being in the top two with her questionable 2-in-1 look, winning certain lipsyncs that I think a majority agrees should have gone to the other queen, to name the most obvious rigging for Alaska). All of this being highlighted more or less by the edit worked against her in my opinion, but what makes her win okay to me is the growth from season 5 that they also managed to highlight plus still doing a great job in most challenges.
TL;DR Some obvious rigging and questionable decisions highlighted by production worked against Alaska on AS2, but she's still a deserving winner in my eyes.
I would love analyses on Carmen Farala, Kieona, and Spanky too!!! I loved all of these queens and Carmen was just EVERYTHING! I’ll never forget the roast and she was just like yea I whipped up my runway in the workroom and than W O N! 10/10 content!

I think I would include Bob in having one of the best 'dominated the competition and ultimately came out on top' winners storylines. Even though I believe Kim Chi would have made an equally deserving winner in S8 ☺ Willow Pills was also a satisfying winners edit- the quirky queen who was initially misjudged in the first episode, but immediately made an impression and became a fan fave.
But yeah, my favourite winners and winners storylines are Jinkx and Sasha Velour. I think my least favourite winner storylines were Krystal from UK3, and Bebe. Just because other queens (Ella and Nina) in those Seasons had much better winner storylines/claims to the crown.

I love Bianca’s edit it’s definitely the closest we’ve got to the “villian” winning I remember the first time I watched the season and really not liking her to begin with a lot of the time it felt unnecessarily mean she was clashing with Adore and Trinity the underdogs of the season but they did a really good job of having her slowly open up and show that yes she was mean but not because she didn’t care the way they focused in on her relationship with adore and helping her grow really worked so that even whilst I was rooting for adore Bianca winning felt like a win for team adore too
Great video! Also sidenote, all of the popular Drag Race youtubers are growing out their hair and it's amazing.
I would love more analysis from you on international seasons! Especially France 2, it was such a good season and in my opinion a very interesting case to study how a franchise establishes itself
Will you be doing the same for Villain edits? Seeing season 5 and 6 again reminded me just badly Courtney was edited to make her look like the baddie versus Roxxxy or Jeremi. I feel like there's a good discussion to be had there on who gets made into the villains and why
My least favourite storyline winner is sadly sasha only because even if u didn't watch season 15 but saw the queen's u already knew who was gonna win and nobody had a chance really so it wasn't fair for sasha or any of the other Queens
We haven’t had a good winners story like in a longgg time imo good examples are Tyra, Jinxx, Bianca winning stories etc.
I know the double crowing of AS4 will deffo be in the worst.
I started watching drag race for Jinkx and I also use season 5 to recommend the show, but Bianca is definitely my favorite winner because she was amazing at the challenges, but also amazing as a leader and friend to the other girls. Every time I saw her helping the younger girls I fell in love a little more with her, and she did that while absolutely slaaaaaaying!

The winner is 100% down to the edit. Every queen who's been cast on RPDR is multi talented. Some do better in certain challenges, but every queen who's been cast had a wide enough range of talent to win with the right edit.

Come to think of it Bianca really had a tough love, horribly frank auntie energy to her. Laganja didn't see it during season because there really was a lot of things happening to her, but look at them now. Trinity was able to see past it but her own saboteur cut it short. Only Adore was able fully experience that side to Bianca since they reached the end.
i still think brooke lynn deserved to win that season but i think yvie def deserved top 2 as well.

as someone who has ehlers-danlos syndrome i just like to chime in sometimes to say how well i personally do think yvie's was handled/presented on the show, especially in the times when it does hinder her. was the portrayal 100% flawless? no but thats not to be expected imo, for a reality tv show i do think it was rather respectful/tasteful thankfully

I LOVED Carmens story, and i think what made hers work unlike Jimbos was because while they both stomped the competition the fact that it felt like anyones game on espana until the roast challenge made the season so compelling to watch unlike all stars 8 where Jimbo already had 3 wins by episode 5.
The only season a villain won their season was violet winning season 7

idk if i would say its one of the best but i really appreciated the villian, perfectionist, and wild card storyline in season 4. but that’s rly less about sharron and more me enjoying jeremy’s drama
The thing about Yvie in All Starts 7 is that she was way too much in her comfort zone... It came across like she didn't want to compete, so I wonder why she accepted the invitation.
I think it's more about her chronic illness than her lack of wanting to be there

Have you read her tweets about this season? She put her entire being into this and they treated her poorly so people wouldn't question Raja's win of the lipsync. She not only tried her best throughout the season but also won that lipsync. Don't even start.

And her hyper mobile lip sync moves are probably hurting her body. Didn't she come out and say her performance style will need to change? AS7 felt so sad after I heard that

Maybe an unpopular opinion, I loved Symone’s arc, edit and win. It felt like I was rooting for an underdog bc Gottmik and Kandy were the “popular” kids even though she won so much that season. That whole, “it’s anybody’s game” feeling really made that season’s ending fun for me.
So weird, because for me that season was one where the winner was completely clear from very early on. Symone just has that quality, I never seriously doubted she was going to win at any point after the Flag Factreh (which proved she had the comedy and acting chops as well as the fashion and charisma).
Odd. Watching Season 14, it was clear from the start she was going to win. Gottmik and Kandy were never a threat to the crown, only Rose was but she lacked personality.

Raja's second win just have a bitter taste because Yvie obviously outperformed Raha during the lipsync. But what does a lipsync mean on Drag Race nowadays, am I right?
Disclaimer: I ADORE Raja since I watched season 3 and I stan the legend, the eyecon. Absolutely NO hate towards Sutan Amrull, love love love.

i feel like alaska has a really good winner’s storyline in general like the fact that it was almost 10 years in the making but there’s something about her winner’s edit itself that is kinda strange to me. which i know a lot of it is because she was holding back A LOT when it came to showing emotions (until they all came out at once lmao) but it just felt like oh wow look how good i’m doing oh wait i fucked up and then literally the next episode it was the finale. i kinda wish there was an extra competitive episode between the whole meltdown and winning where she was able to pull herself back up and do well

Her storyline is okay not great. She bullied a bully all season back and forth , then was thrown a bone when Willam was disqualified. Then the production company who had way too much say in tandem with the sponsors, specifically Absolut, chose the obvious and safe choice for them (the weird party girl). But yes yes the world had never heard of a blood capsule before she went on TV go off
