(Of course i'm sarcastic, this is a terrible idea!)
It’s seems like they could never really find a good balance between Felix and Adrien. Originally, Felix was supposed to be the emo boy trope with a cold personality and kept to himself. Personally, I don’t really like that trope, but on the other hand, I think Adrien’s way too nice. Would’ve been nice if they could’ve sort of combined the personalities of both characters.
I can, imagine having a shy and reserved Adrien/Felix,too trumatized to open up to people, and too socially awkward to drive a conversation well, which leads him to refusing most of Bri's advances.
2:34 Yes, in the original concept he was supposed to be this cold, angsty dude who didn't talk to anyone, However Thomas Changed him to Adrien cause he realized that it would make no sence for Marinette to fall so hard for him since he ignored her and acted kinda like a jerk towards her. Also, Fun fact: His name was supposed to be "Felix" (Name inspired by Felix the Cat). Also, when you get to Season 3 you'll meet him again cause the Creator decided to add him in as Adrien's cousin Here's another fun fact: Another reason why they decided to leave 2D was because the animators were having an absolute HELL TIME by trying to keep up with Ladybug's spots. Thomas tried making other designs but none worked
They didn't name him Felix because of Felix the Cat. They named him so because Felix means happy/lucky in Latin, which would have been a funny contrast to him being very unlucky.
Most of the thing I like about the anime version was that it seemed like Ladybug played a lot more of an attacker role than protecting or defending. We get to see her actually fighting Mr. Mime, like kicking him a bunch and everything.
"Adrien" here was Felix. He was more introverted and self-shutting person. He was this way because he was an isolated child by his father just like in the show.
I remember seeing this PV as it was what got me into Miraculous years ago. I love Adrien but idk the original og Felix will always be my beloved. His version of Cat Noir is also my favorite. I always feel robbed whenever I see this PV. Like I love the show, don’t get me wrong but this version was always what got me into it and I wish we could’ve gotten it. It was supposed to be darker and focused more for teens. It was also not animated for one of the reasons that ladybugs spots would’ve been hard to animate. I’d also heard that the ring on Felix was stuck on him, and it struck him with a lot of bad luck and he wanted to be rid of it. To get rid of it, Cat Noir had to get a kiss from ladybug. Idk I always found that plot (if it was legit idk) way more interesting than the current one. But that’s just me lol
This music video often made me wonder what the Miraculous series would've been like if it were made into an anime instead of what it currently is, i mean i like the series for what it currently is i'm just saying that if they ever did an anime spin off of Miraculous Ladybug that's something i'd like to see.
@@alexos9011 that is true!! Tho honestly I don’t see why they didn’t just. Give her less spots & base her costume on an entire ladybug rather than just the shell. But alas
As you may have read in other comments, this male character you see here is not Adrien, it was a completely different character called Felix and Gabriel wasn't even his father. But I'm just gonna tell you this REMEMBER FELIX 😏
I wonder what you would of thought if you had started with this. Adrien isn't even in the PV, he was invented later, replacing Felix as the black cat holder.
I think the idea to make Felix/Adrien being cold and even rude to Bridgette/Marinette could give a good story like "hate to love", something like he needs the kiss of ladybug to break the curse but starts to fall in love with her and maybe he starts to find Bridgette cute in some ways (like the way she deal with problems and bad moments making him think about stuff of his life with a not-present dad or even her clumsyness)
the PV version was very interesting, before Adrien didn't exist he was only created in 2012. instead of him there was Félix, but Thomas didn't find his personality good for children for being rude and arrogant The cat's miraculous came with the curse of bad luck for the holder, and it couldn't be removed except with the ladybug's kiss. And she didn't have the Lucky charm, her power was pure luck And it could only be used to help others
I never had tremendous gripes with 3D animation. In terms of primarily 3D cartoons, excluding Arcane like Zamber said, 2012 Ninja Turtles was pretty good, especially the 2D aspects for expressions and humor. (Don’t know if Gumball counts since most characters we see are 2D in fantastic 3D backgrounds). When judging the styles, 2D usually gives you a bit more freedom and exaggerating stuff, and 3D usually strives for realism and tends to be easier to create, which is exactly a sentiment I hold to Disney’s abundance in CG movies which are by no means bad, but many people miss the 2D movies. I love both, but if the creator calls for whatever fits their vision and the public’s perspective, I don’t really judge. However, I will say, the upcoming RWBY reboot’s 2D style may have more promise since many are controversial on how bland the backgrounds for the original were despite them improving over time.
From what you described I feel like 3D works best in cartoons when paired with 2D in certain aspects (like special effects, exaggerated facial expressions, etc)
@@47ratsinahoodie it most cases, yes, it does. it’s not a requirement by any means, i’m just pointing out how most 3D cartoons that I personally like add that flare to up their quality a bit more.
In Japan, the lock of hair sticking out of a characters head is called ahoge (foolish hair) lots of characters have them, like Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Ahiru from Princess Tutu
I love the comparisons you make between Shugo Chara and the Miraculous Ladybug PV. I definitely think originally, Adrien was designed to fit that more cold, bad boy stereotype, but then they just gave that character to Felix snd made a new character, Adrien, when they made the 3D characters
Fun fact! In this version Adrien was called Felix. Later on felix shows up in the actual show miraculous as his own character. Felix's character was very diffrent from adrien but marinette was basicly the same. Also in this version adrien had 0 intrest in marinette and was annoyed at her affection but was a simp for ladybug. (Edited)
I'm still so salty that we got 3D instead of 2D because Ladybug's costume was too hard to animate. They could have just made it more creative than just black spots on a red suit 😭
Consider: Ladybug but she looks like an Actual Ladybug!!! More black, two white spots on solid black mask both mimicking eyebrows and the white facial spots real ladybugs have, and gliding mechanism or Actual Real Wings to retain the red spotted pattern etc ^^
@Marinette "They did," make it more creative than just black spots on a red suit? Where?? And don't say her Lucky Charm costume because that's not her permanent costume.
@Marinette Look, I'm sure Thomas' sketches looked cool but how is a million black spots on a red suit simple? It's two elements but the usage of them is just bland, not simple, specifically in terms of animation. If it was one of the reasons the show couldn't be animated in 2D, clearly it wasn't simple. And if the costumes are meant to be simple, why the *fuck* does Carapace have so much shit going on in his costume?
Actually that guy who looks like gabriel is not gabriel he was richarad sphinx a rich man who Wanted power and felix was not his son, basically Emily's plot didnt exist in the anime, richarad just Wanted the miraculouses to rule the world
Since you've seen this, I HIGHLY recommend watching the Miraculous Office AU by Emzurl here on RUclips. It's really good and just got it's fourth episode about a month ago.
Wait til S4 cause the animation has so many errors & bad. In the original storyline this was gonna be towards young adults/adults as a dark theme. They did have a original team called Quantic Kids that has Sparrow, Melody, Kid Mime & Gavroche. The plot was that Felix was cursed with a black ring & the only way to take it off is a kiss from Ladybug. HawkMoth was gonna have henchmen like Mr.Mime & Mr.Pigeon. While Felix in this is cold, isolated & Marinette is confident, makes bad situations into a good one. I know that the manga of Ladybug from the show is becoming an anime. I wish it was just from this version since RWBY is being an anime in its own version from Monty

In my opinion, Miraculous becoming a 3D animated kids show was the biggest glow DOWN in history. The only thing I liked about this change is Adrien, because Felix is just a typical bad boy in this PV, but Adrien is more interesting.
Honestly? It depends on how the character will be written by the writer, almost any character with certain personalities will work if written good enough. And as evident to the recent seasons (or has been for the entire run of season 3-5) that Thomas barely knows how to write good characters.
Fun fact: the 2D anime version was scrapped because it was too hard to animate for LadyBug during a fight because they would have to keep track of where the black spots were on her outfit and keep drawing them to make them look consistent compared to a 3D model where every detail stays in place even when they are moving so that’s one of the reasons they switched to a 3D animation style instead of staying with the 2D anime style.
We actually did end up getting something close to the original concept. They came out with a manga adaptation of the show last year I believe, but it’s only in Japan as of right now.
The 3D show is amazing but I feel like they had to limit interesting or more darker themes because the show's target audience was mainly for kids but I feel like they have the freedom to express more in the animation, whether it'll be themes, story or characters. The protagonists are a little different from the 3D version but I love this take on them more. Marinette has this unlucky schtick and clumsy like always but the smile at the end represents her innocence and her optimism to move forward despite the harsh conditions. The unlucky schtick contrasts her heroine self (Ladybug) who represents the insect Ladybug associated with luck and great fortune (That's where "Lucky Charm" got inspired from), totally different from her unluckyness as Marinette. Adrien... or "Felix" isn't really loved by fans (gloomy persona) but I think it's more realistic according to his character since his mother is "dead", his father is neglecting him and he has to put on a facade for the Agreste brand....I don't expect him to be all sunshine and rainbows. But after he meets Ladybug, he realized that there are still people in life that will treat you equally and make you feel free, have confidence in himself which made his Chat noir personality: humorous, confident, lively, chaotic which contrasts Felix. Because of this, he actually gets character development and turns into the 3D version we know and love. That really would make me love the show a hundred times more better and love Adrien as a character even more, but it's just my opinion.
@Marinette Yeah but that's in like the production. It could change as the series went on forward just like in the 3D show, which started as a kids show but gradually brought in some mature themes.
@Marinette I wouldn't call them mature but topics like parent neglect or parental manipulation, the pain of having too much responsibility as we see Marinette cry and breakdown because of this, faking your identity to please society etc. I wouldn't normally find these things in a kids show.
@Marinette I won't say most bcz it's not that common? Most shows there are like for comedic relief and fun unlike popular ones like Steven universe or Owl house etc.
I never watched the anime version of Miraculous so this is going to be an interesting first Miraculous anime for me but I do know from Cartoon Apocalypse that Felix was Adrien's name in the anime and Marinette's anime name was Bridgette I think. And I know Cartoon Apocalypse said that Felix was more mean than Adrien. Also I love your new cat headphones they look so cool. And the anime version looks cool now I'm watching the video of the anime. I think the anime is better than the current animation and the show.
Man, if it weren’t for the high demanding expectations and restrictions of the hundreds of broadcasting studios around the world that the show is broadcasted to, the struggles and unfairness of the industry towards its employees, as well as the ongoing decision by studios that 3D is cheaper than 2d, we would have seen miraculous ladybug as an anime.
Once you catch up with Miraculous you could try the Miraculous AU Office. It is fan animation that is set in an AU future where they are adults and working in an office in the style of The Office TV series. However this seems based on the PV, as Felix is the male lead instead of Adrien. For the most part I'm not worried about spoilers from the show. This is fan animation and they don't know what will happen in the show. In fact it seems to contraction later events that the group would have no way of knowing about, beyond having Felix as the black cat holder. Still you might want to wait until you are caught up.
I believe the names are Felix and Bridgette. I’m pretty certain that is Felix and he seems the same from the show too, but not sure if it’s Marinette or not.
The most notable of Miraculous! Why? Not only do we get an anime version, but the fact it’s a nod to the anime studio Toei, who France is in association with for the series.
Originally the names were Bridgette and Felix. Later changed to Marinette and Adrien. They made the theme less dark and more of a fluffy show for kids.
This is a nice collaboration when they were trying to pitch Ladybug. And to think a few days before this video got uploaded, Jeremy Zag posted pics of new movie with Katy Perry voicing protagonist called Melody
I think they could. It would technically be the original continuity, and if done right, be extremely popular. I think the concept of the items having a upside tied to a downside in the case of Felix was a good intensive for him to remain Noir. Basically forcing him into the role and him learning something from it.
It was first planned to be a comic book series close to Marvel, then they thought to make an anime of Miraculous Ladybug, but around 2013 they started another 3d animation look to it that was a mix of the anime and our miraculous Ladybug we have now, then they finally let what we got as the final🙂
thats not adrien, is felix!! they thought felix wasn't the right partner for mari bc of his personality so they created my sushine boy adrien, and something cool about this version s they only can transform at night. i think if miraculous was animated in this way maybe more people would like but at the same time i really like the animation we have now
The money wasn’t really the issue. It was ladybugs’ spots cause it was hard to draw them and it would cause motion sickness. So they decided to go 3d style
This to me is what I really wish Ladybug series had become, the 2D animation is so beautiful & expressive, as you had pointed out on Ladybug's cowlip hair or their face expressions during scenes & honestly the look of the darker atmosphere might've had kept my interest. Also before Andrien we had Felix who in civilian he would've been more snobbish, cold, & serious but when he was in Cat Noir he would've been the more loveable goof who's after Ladybugs affection & just more all around a nicer guy, unsure if the intent was the power of Cat Noir made him more friendly or that he was always like that & he only keeps the persona of cold & snob when he is in civilian garb for people's eyes. I do agree fully with you on 2D vs CG, while there is nothing wrong with a CG show, they have had many good shows & can be very expressive & fun in their own ways, but 2D just does the expressions & animation so much more fluid then CG can do, especially on a TV series budget which really hampers CG & what it is allowed to pull off.
When you were talking about expressive CG animation, I thought for sure you were going to say RWBY but I guess you’ve never seen it. Persona 5 is a weird example, though. That game was in development for eight years, including preproduction.
Oh yeah i remembered this pilot that we were promised a movie like 3 YEARS AGO love ya Thomas also adrian was gonna be felix and marinette was gonna be bridgette like an alternate miraculous
Funny how people still didn’t/don’t know that ML was originally supposed to be that 2D/Anime PV version (even after the CGI version came out, Zag & Thomas promised that they would make a PV OVA, so that way it wouldn’t be completely forgotten & keep fans happy, but even that those shits cancelled & scrapped with some idiotic excuses), whereas for me I’ve known since way back when the last couple of ML S1 eps were airing to the world for the first time………..god I feel old

Hey Zander u should def react to the Miraculous Office AU by Emzurl, it includes the PV version of Adrien(Felix) and various other discarded concept characters!!
Tbh, I think I'd have preffered this but with current Adrian's personality. Proto-Adrian/Felix was going to be a jerk. Basically, they split Felix's personality between current Adrian and _Chloe_ of all people as a snooty, snobby rich kid. As some others mentioned, his plot in the original version was that he was cursed with bad luck because of wearing the ring, which could only be removed with a kiss from the wielder of the good luck miraculous, aka Ladybug. The irony came in from his being too snobby to pay much attention to Marinette but was a dog (cat?) with a bone for Ladybug, who couldn't care less for his advances.
Thanks for this reaction. The PV really puts me in mind of Princess Tutu or a younger focus CyberSix. Have you ever seen Cybersix? It'd be amazing if you watched 'CyberSix AMV' The Look. The 1st "OMGawd she's so stylishly awesome I just want to be like her" cartoon character I found :) .
I think I heard somewhere that reason the show switched to 3d was because in 2d, the animators were having some trouble animating the spots on ladybugs suit. Switching to 3d essentially fixed this problem.

@@charismaentertainer1657 So... a girl liking a cold and rude boy then slowly learning to know him and love him is bad for Thomas BUT a girl stalking her crush everyday is fine? Yeah that makes sense X) Let Felix be ignored cause he's a bit cold with the héroïne and have Marinette being as creepy as possible. Now that's a good model for kids and teenagers!
Also, when you get to Season 3 you'll meet him again cause the Creator decided to add him in as Adrien's cousin
Here's another fun fact: Another reason why they decided to leave 2D was because the animators were having an absolute HELL TIME by trying to keep up with Ladybug's spots.
The fact that Toei, freaking Toei were willing to work on this show and the Zaggster was like "Nah" he must be insane.
Is that really what happened?
I've heard the 2D style was abandonned because Ladybug's costume was too hard to animate because of the spots
@@alexos9011 that is true!! Tho honestly I don’t see why they didn’t just. Give her less spots & base her costume on an entire ladybug rather than just the shell. But alas
@@sodadile or give her a new costume entirely. Lazy animators lol
The one that dislike this was Thomas Astruc not Zag and yeah the spot in Ladybug’s costume was difficult to animate but it was due to budget issues
@@sodadile they changed her suit 3 times
PV Felix my beloved
That's technically not Adrien, that's Felix which was his original name.
As you may have read in other comments, this male character you see here is not Adrien, it was a completely different character called Felix and Gabriel wasn't even his father. But I'm just gonna tell you this
REMEMBER FELIX 😏
So Ladybug was like Domino from MArvel but with less colateral damage?
@@freakda96 yes lol
Yes, I think appreciation of both forms is best, I feel like 2D often gets the pedestal in comparison with some people
So sad this was scrapped
For real!!!
Fun fact! In this version
Adrien was called Felix. Later on felix shows up in the actual show miraculous as his own character. Felix's character was very diffrent from adrien but marinette was basicly the same. Also in this version adrien had 0 intrest in marinette and was annoyed at her affection but was a simp for ladybug.
(Edited)
There was also another 3d version wich had slightly diffrent animation style

I'm still so salty that we got 3D instead of 2D because Ladybug's costume was too hard to animate. They could have just made it more creative than just black spots on a red suit 😭
Consider: Ladybug but she looks like an Actual Ladybug!!! More black, two white spots on solid black mask both mimicking eyebrows and the white facial spots real ladybugs have, and gliding mechanism or Actual Real Wings to retain the red spotted pattern etc ^^
@@sodadile I would have *loved* that
@Marinette "They did," make it more creative than just black spots on a red suit?
Keep in mind 2d animation is very expensive, and Thomas found the anime too cliche. Spots is a weak excuse.
They recreate a lot of the cinematic shots from this PV eventually start getting remade in the 3D version, which is fun.
Actually that guy who looks like gabriel is not gabriel he was richarad sphinx a rich man who Wanted power and felix was not his son, basically Emily's plot didnt exist in the anime, richarad just Wanted the miraculouses to rule the world
WHA-???????? THATS so crazyyyyyy

Since you've seen this, I HIGHLY recommend watching the Miraculous Office AU by Emzurl here on RUclips. It's really good and just got it's fourth episode about a month ago.
ill go check it out!
Oh yeah in S4 didn't they go from three studios to one (the one that was apparently the worst of the three)?
@@47ratsinahoodie I’m not sure but I believe so
@@47ratsinahoodie actually no there were 4 Studios in s4 SAMG,assemblage, artage and dq,however dq went bankrupt, actually s4 animation is good, except quilin XD,season 2 has the worst animation since most of the episodes were animated by dq
In my opinion, Miraculous becoming a 3D animated kids show was the biggest glow DOWN in history. The only thing I liked about this change is Adrien, because Felix is just a typical bad boy in this PV, but Adrien is more interesting.
Yeah!! Word.
Also 2D animation is very expensive and Thomas found the anime too cliche, and the broadacstres didnt want to air it.
That is actually Felix, he was supposed to be Chat Noir in the original show but they replaced him with Adrien✨
My favorite detail is that the things the Mime is acting out can be seen in the shadows. It adds this extra menace to it that is just terrifying!
We actually did end up getting something close to the original concept. They came out with a manga adaptation of the show last year I believe, but it’s only in Japan as of right now.
The manga follows the show's storyline, though. But I highly recommend it,becuase it has some added scenes that add more depth to the story.
@Marinette I didn't know Bridgette was a fan name I thought it was the real anime name.
It's just a concept promotion for Miraculous Ladybug
Amazing Reaction I absolutely loved this show and wished they actually did this!🥰
Man, if it weren’t for the high demanding expectations and restrictions of the hundreds of broadcasting studios around the world that the show is broadcasted to, the struggles and unfairness of the industry towards its employees, as well as the ongoing decision by studios that 3D is cheaper than 2d, we would have seen miraculous ladybug as an anime.
Bridgette was never the name for marinette before. It's just a fandom name ppl create.
And to think its mostly teenagers and young adults even adults watching the show and not many kids watch it lol
This is a nice collaboration when they were trying to pitch Ladybug. And to think a few days before this video got uploaded, Jeremy Zag posted pics of new movie with Katy Perry voicing protagonist called Melody
I would love if they did this version of miraculous
I think they could. It would technically be the original continuity, and if done right, be extremely popular. I think the concept of the items having a upside tied to a downside in the case of Felix was a good intensive for him to remain Noir. Basically forcing him into the role and him learning something from it.
My heart still aches everyday for this
*sighs* If only the PV Ladybug version was real. Welp, time to go back to reading PV Ladybug fanfics! *dashes away*
I can’t put my finger on it but this PV makes Marinette/Ladybug just… _look_ like someone Christina Vee would voice.
It was first planned to be a comic book series close to Marvel, then they thought to make an anime of Miraculous Ladybug, but around 2013 they started another 3d animation look to it that was a mix of the anime and our miraculous Ladybug we have now, then they finally let what we got as the final🙂
I really wish we get a spin-off in that art style one day with the plot originally intended. Then I can die happily.
the PV gave me a lot of princess tutu vibes, (which is an AMAZING anime btw) + Shugo Chara
We need this released
technically "adrien" is felix thats why he had that special reveal in the episode felix
Felix was the original name for Adrien
thats not adrien, is felix!! they thought felix wasn't the right partner for mari bc of his personality so they created my sushine boy adrien, and something cool about this version s they only can transform at night. i think if miraculous was animated in this way maybe more people would like but at the same time i really like the animation we have now
The money wasn’t really the issue. It was ladybugs’ spots cause it was hard to draw them and it would cause motion sickness. So they decided to go 3d style
that is Felix and Bridgette, I absolutely love the anime version. Adrien was a side character, and needed support to walk around
? Adrien didnt even excist
Chole: omg maris so cute 🥰
Since the original cartoon is the finale and I took a break from One Piece, why does TOEI animation not do this series with minor changes?
Cute headphones!!! :D

We're all thinking it, the 2D anime style version would have been better.

Hey Zander u should def react to the Miraculous Office AU by Emzurl, it includes the PV version of Adrien(Felix) and various other discarded concept characters!!
The company that made their designs back then also made Sailor Moon also back then Adrian didn’t Exist his name was Felix
Zamber when you react to the episode "Felix" you are going to understand more.
I Can't wait for you to see the song called "the wall between us"

Ps:Felix was curse with the ring and he needed a true love kiss.
That's not Adrien, it's Felix, his cousin.
The original character Marinette was called Bridgette and Adrien was Felix. The concept that who ever put on the ring of the black cat was cursed to be super unlucky and only ladybug could remove it.
I am Pretty sure that in The Miraculous ladybug PV Cat Noir is Actually Felix they even have same hair

They ended up going with the 3d version. Because they couldn’t get the spots on ladybugs costume to stop moving. Witch caused a strobing effect. Can you say problematic if you have seizures.
What happens in the end with them looking down at that fire thing kind of remindes me of the season 4 finale.
(But don't worry it's not a big spolier😂)
