The soundtrack to the the film Mary Poppins has always been one of my favorites since I was five years old. The combination of the music with the candy colored sets and animation is a cinematic experience that has yet to be matched in the area of family entertainment.
Hopefully this should be a good film. it does look impressive in terms of the battle sequences and CGI creatures. I might see it this weekend and complete my Charlize Theron double bill.
Actually, that's not really true, Overall, they have about the same rating from all of the critics aggregate score, but it's fresh from the top critics.
To be fair to the film the book Snow White "chneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge" by the Brothers Grimm is pretty dark and gritty. This film portrays the book a lot better than the rubbish that is Mirror Mirror although unfortunately it contains Kristen Stewart and her constant lip biting.
Haven't seen the film but from that clip it sounded like Hemsworth's accent was pretty good, no? (I'm Scottish by the way) Miles ahead of Russell Crowe
I'm fond of movies like this. If anyone remembers Willow, SW and Huntsman evokes the same nostalgic feeling as I was getting into the film. Don't misunderstand me here, this is an inferior movie to the aforementioned above and the religious overtones distracted my attention from what is already a disappointing film. I enjoyed the start, but the middle and the end proved to be nothing more than a character study of the main star of the show, Ms Theron.
Oh, Mirror Mirror is not good. But I was at pains to point out to you that Snow White and the Huntsman is far worse precisely because it takes itself very seriously. This isn't irrelevant whatever you might say because, as I said, it lacks any ideas to anchor that seriousness, which why it is a very bad film. Mirror is just not a good film (although you can't say why. Which makes me think your opinion is irrelevant). I'm very sorry to have hurt your feelings. Don't post provocative replies then.
Theron sounds really panto-esque Galadriel and Hemsworth sounds like a bad Gerard Butler impersonator in that clip. KStew seems very miscast so I dunno if she'll be completely insurmountable in the film, since I'm guessing we spend most of its running time with her...
Not very good I thought. Costumes and cinematography good but on the downside it's very very slow paced, scenes go on too long, the plot is really stretched out, Charlize Theron chews the scenery but isn't actually in it for all that long. All the accents in the movie sounded a bit off to me. Not sure who it's aimed at either, it's too scary for kids, not smart enough for adults.
Americans doing English, English doing Scottish, etc etc etc just employ actors of the native country, even great actors cannot hold a foreign accent, its agony for the people from the country that actors are trying to speak in, it never works and makes it a comedy
As a very general rule, that's true - but, nope, wrong again in this context. Want a film that takes itself seriously? Watch Dreyer's Joan of Arc. It works because it has the intellectual heft to carry the seriousness. Snow White and the Huntsman fails precisely because it has loftier ambitions than either Mirror Mirror or Disney's Snow White and drastically fails to achieve them because the film makers are more interested in swordfights than ideas. Its seriousness is not moving, but laughable.
This sounds like a British-centric session where they count how many English actors there are in the movie and who did a better British accent rather than reviewing the movie. Please name your videos better in the future. Not everyone wants to waste their time.
The film’s stylish, effective, well acted & well characterised, however the film’s poorly directed, poorly written, long & unfocused. (50%) (2.5/5 stars) (mixed)
it was shit this film seriously, from hemsworth laughable scottish accent, stewarts one expression to convey all emotions and therons complete over the top acting (shes a good actress) The visual is great.
Irrelevant? He actually talks about Mirror Mirror several times in this review. They're both versions of Snow White that have screened in the same year. It's just that one is pretending that it's actually Joan of Arc. As Kermode says, this film has received even worse reviews than Mirror Mirror. Probably because it's po-faced shite. Attention Twi-hards, you'll eat it up. Do yourself a favour and watch Dreyer's Joan of Arc rather than this pretentious, vacuous, music video crap.
Kristen Stewart can't act worth a carrot , trying to be Lord of the rings which itself was bloody dire , this isn't far behind . Charlize theron is the only saving grace
Okay Charlize, I want you to underplay this.
"YOU WILL DOO THISS FOR MEE H-"
Cut. And, okay, so as I was saying...
I love this film ,

They had me at Charlize in a bath of milk. Yum.
Yes. The best way to sum this film up is "I quite enjoyed watching this". You REALLY enjoy watching it, but you recognize it has its problems too. :)
actually it was a gong coming off the wall, what happend to "mirror, mirror ON the wall" ?
At least Mirror Mirror didn't take itself seriously.
Hopefully this should be a good film. it does look impressive in terms of the battle sequences and CGI creatures. I might see it this weekend and complete my Charlize Theron double bill.
Yes you're quite right, Destroyer not Conqueror!
*listened to the clip* When did camp become the Hollywood norm?
Well he is a film critic, it's sort of his job description...
after watching and listening to many reviews, I have concluded..................the film industry lacks inspiration

I agree kirsten stewart has nothing on her.
Rottentomatoes doesn't agree with you!!!! Mirror Mirror is better reviewed there.... SWATH was pretty but empy.... like Kristen.

Rip off of Conan the conqueror in that clip they played!

are* sorry half asleep awful grammar and spelling.
...and almost no one agrees with you.
I would go so far as to day 12yr olds shouldn't even be in the theater. This is a GRITTY movie!
I agree.. I've always found Mark is such a hypocrite.. He loves looking for negative points in movies..
