My pleasure
We don't like cilantro...what could be a substitute for it?
Parsley
I love your recipes!! I made one for church dinner and everyone loved it!!!
And this is the first time I think I saw you sit down!! 🤣
Ill
You have a beautiful family. I'm not Jewish but love learning about different life and your recipes look so good. Good luck in your new home and continue blessings for you and your family.
If you place a folded damp paper towel under your cutting board...it will keep it from sliding around while you are chopping and prepping. My chef husband taught me that life saving trick, and it works like a charm!
Everything looks delicious, but your rice dish is spectacular! Thank you again. 👏🏻💕💐
Love all your salads ideas - would love to see more! You have a wonderful channel!
Sonya, I love your recipes! This is the first time I see the ones with the linen bags! I will try it! Thanks for sharing!
We do franks in the Pillsbury crescent dough or biscuit dough. We also have used the little smokies sausage, little sausages with bbq sauce. These are little snacks we have during Mardi Gras parades. I'm going to try it with the puffed pastries. It's a good idea. Have a good week.
Amazing! Your little girl is so adorable. She was trying so hard to get your attention 🥰
Thank you so much. She loves to be in the kitchen and always begs to help with cutting. I can tell from even this early on she’s going to have great culinary skills.
Wow all your food looks amazing x

It’s like Thanksgiving in your home every weekend! Food looks lovely! 💞
Yes, that’s exactly what it is lol
Yvonne there is an old viral comic where the Turkey says to the chicken “Thanksgiving is the worst! Sometimes I wish I was born a chicken…” to which the chicken replies “please, ever heard of Shabbat?”. We take our Shabbat and holidays seriously, both spiritually and gastronomically 😂
That’s a lot of food and look great
Sonya Your food looks fabulous! The salads were great♡ I was looking for some new ideas I love carrots beets and cucumbers too Thank you
My uncle was a restaurant chef and he taught me to bake all these meals in the aluminum pan covered with foil. So delicious!!!!
You are one very hard working lady.🙂
The youngest girl is very attached to you, isn’t she? A mommas girl. I wish I could find puff pastry like you had in this video, it’s quite a bit, and pre cut for smaller dishes! I really liked the steamed fruit and rice recipe, I would like to have this one!!! Thank you. A very good day to you!

shalom from israel...nice to meet you
Tell me about the foil trays, please. Love your channel. You’re amazing!
Hi what exactly about them lol
You can cut your cooking time for oxtail and other such meat cuts by using a pressure cooker. I'm all for quick and easy.
DEFINITELY ON THE LIST OF THINGS TO GET
We’re coming for Shabbat!!!!!!
🎉 We always have such a great time with you and Bracha!
❤
GOD blesss you!!🙏🇮🇱 🇺🇸
Love your videos!!!❤❤❤❤
Where do you get the linen bags from?
in Italy we cook a dish inside the linen cloth that is called "pasta reale" or royalty pasta.
Your meals look great! How many people do these feed?
I´m Watching your video after Yom Kippur fast... can you imagine how I feel -😂😂😂😂 Gmar Chatima Tovah Sonya!
The linen bags, and twine, links on Amazon?
Do you use parchment paper 8n everything for easier clean up or Kosher reasons?
What kind of hot dogs do you use? I've always enjoyed all beef hot dogs in natural casings but they are so hard to find.
I just found your channel. Thank you for your videos! My plan is to follow along as I cook your recipes. I’ve ordered the mandolin, and steamer bags. Respectfully, where is your cuisine from? My family asked and my guess is Persian or Bukharian, both known to be delicious. I will be making your recipes over Sukkos. We’re so excited! Ty 💕
Hi I’m Bukharian- you got it
@@SonyasPrep hi what is the name of that bag and where can I purchase thank you
This looks amazing. Such an interesting way of doing rice, have never seen it before. Is there a way to do the rice without the bag and steamer ? Thank you and shabbath shalom !
Hi Lia, yes there is another way of making this green rice, by baking it in the oven. I will link the video for you below.
ruclips.net/video/fIsOn8J1tnc/видео.html
@@SonyasPrep I made it last night for dinner but I added like 3 cups of stock . It needed more liquid.
@@fordmusclecar I think depending on the tipe of rice. But if you soak the rice in water for half hour it needs less wile cooking and comes out more losse, no stering wile cooking is a must i use to ster the rice with a spoon and my grandmother told me no to do it until the rice is finished because losse steam an that trap moisture the one that makes it soft .
Hi Sonya, I was just wondering if you can do a video on pickling green tomatoes and pickling cabbage.
Thanks
Great idea. Hope to do it soon
Where do you get kosher oxtails? I want to come to your house for Shabbat! Would love all these recpies!
My butcher sells them.
i tried making your bahsh, but just in the oven like the sirkanis. seems to have turned out okay!
Sounds great!
Amazing, where do you live now?
Looks great!! Where can I get these bahsh bags in NY?
I get mine from my local butcher a while ago
What is the purpose of steaming in bags? Thanks
I would like the bags you use for your bahsh
What did you do with the water in which you boiled the ox tail?
Do you ever use a slow cooker? I find it invaluable as I also work and have a family.
Yes I do!
is this bukharian food? it looks incredible. thanks so much for sharing. i would love to see more foods from your culture.
NOM NOM ASMR yes it is. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏 there’s a lot more bukharian food in this channel for you to enjoy.
@@SonyasPrep thank you so much for uploading!! have a shabbat shalom. i've watched 6 of your vids today--everything you make is soooo yummy and beautiful and creative.
So kind of you. Thank you so much. Shabbat Shalom ❤️
Hi sonya. For the beet and carrot salad, did you steam both first or just the beets?
Hi Milana, both are fully raw
@@SonyasPrep great thank you! Enjoy
Yummy! How many people does all this serve?
I was wondering the same thing...
A lot! I was hosting both my husbands family and my own that particular week.
Yum
I was going to ask the same question didn’t know oxtail was kosher
When do you cook all this on Friday or do u make it Thursday and reheat on Friday night ?
Yes oxtails are kosher and soooo delicious!! Just ask your butcher.
I do most of my preps and marination on Thursday nights while my kids are sleeping.
Friday’s I make my salads and finish all my meals by baking them in the oven.
It’s trial and error, what works for each family. I’ve tried different ways of prepping for Shabbat and this seems to work the best for me by not stressing me out while I’m with my kids...
Sonya's Prep do you still work full time as a nurse ?
pinkprincess347 I have summers off as a nurse, so now I’m home until September.
Sonya's Prep Summers off as a nurse I didn’t know that or are you a nurse at a school?
pinkprincess347 yes, I’m a nurse at a school
Hi Sonya, love your videos! I have a q- u cook the halti svo for 2 hours on each side on high then u put on low until shabat lunch? Also, what size bag do u have- they have small, medium and large. I assume the medium is the standard size?
Hi Margarita, Tysm.
I place the halte Svo on the stove 3-4 hours b4 Shabbat on a medium high flame. The flame has to be high enough that there is a slight boil to the water. When Shabbat starts I just place the steamer on my hot plate and let it cook all night.
The bags that I have were given to me by my mom. I tried my best to look for a very similar bag on line and linked the ones that matched best to what I have. The dimensions of my bag are 10x13 so for my family the MEDIUM is great.
Shalom se possível teria como colocar tradução no vídeo em português pra não perdermos nenhum detalhe🖖Todah
Hi Sonya how long do you have the Halti Svo on the steamer? And do you take it off before Shabbat and reheat later?
Hi Yaffa. I time it that the halte Svo is in the steamer 3-4 hours before Shabbat. Once Shabbat starts I place the steamer on the hot plate and it continues to cook all night until lunch time.
So no, I dont take it out before Shabbat. I place eggs and potatoes into the steamer with the halte Svo and it cooks all night on a hot plate.
Nice bzh will try one day thank you so much !
My pleasure!
hey, ? you dont leave 2 fingers when you tie your bahsh and halte svo?
Nope
Where’s the description box
What is ox tails.,? Please enlighten me. Thanks
🤗👌🍇👏👏👏😘🇵🇦🇵🇦
Sonya I’m just seeing some of your videos now. Are you Orthodox? I would imagine Kosher.
Yes I am
What rice do u recommend to use with bahsh
I use:
amzn.to/2WOnBYN
Hi Sonya can you please share what kind of thread 🧵 u using tia
Hi it’s kitchen twine:
amzn.to/39mAka8
Why do you use onion and garlic powder instead of the fresh produce?
I use both at times…. Idk it’s just how my mommy taught me
I think ist some tunisien récipe 💝
SHABBAT SHALOM
RIQUISIMO
METZUYAN
Where to get the bags ?
I buy them from a local butcher store that sells, but I found some on Amazon that I linked in the description box.
Can you do halte svo in a pan? Same as you do bahsh?
Yes the only difference is you would have to close the bag really tight and placed in water. If you mean pan, like sauté then no
@@SonyasPrep no I mean pan that you showed bahsh in.. 9/4 pan I meant
Do you ever use instant pot?
I don’t own one yet
You should start to sell your food for Shabbat locally or when pple just need a night off and just enjoy some amazing food.
Awww that’s so sweet of you to say. Tysm I appreciate it!!❤️❤️
Agree!
Ty
could you take of the music during the video please?
I have question: When do your girls actively help you so they are also training to prepare the meals the Jewish way? I know we helped our mothers in learning how to cook, was wondering when your girls will start their- Mahalo for your time
My girls are 4 and 8 and they already are helping. They love it and always ask to make something with me...
Hopefully train your boys how to cook as well
My oldest boy loves being in the kitchen too. He always asks to be featured in his own video…
The dairy next to the hot dogs is causing serious tsuris.
Kolhakavod
Shabbat shalom
Shabbat Shalom ❤️
Hi Sonya, is this hot dog sausage pork or chicken?
It’s beef
She's a religious Jewish person... why would she eat pork?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Are you of Iranian or Azerbaijani descent??
Hi I’m Bukharian
is it fake cream cheese?
I am doing a 3 fsy cleanse so i am not es
Doing a 3 day juice cleansing n watching these meal prep for Shabbot from you n Chanah made me want to try all your recipes....love the rice prep n 0xtail
As always your food looks delicious. I usually find your videos so soothing, but this time the music was rather overwhelming, and detracted from the video itself.
אפשר תרגום לעברית 🇮🇱
I just genuinely want to ask
Sunbath i think as far as i searched it's a religious practice for mental peace
Would eating non veg dead food , Killing a vulnerable animal for your food would aid you in attaining mental peace
Please someone reply to it
Hoping for a meaningful reply 😅
You cook suck beautiful meals, do you just ever say. ‘ the heck with it’ and just pick up sandwiches or Chinese so yo can test one night?
love your recipes, but that terrible popcorn music really spoils your videos, please do something about it.
