I have way more success with Williams guard and all its variations in no-gi situations. My theory is because it since it's a guard that doesn't require any grips and is easily applicable for a person with limited mobility unlike rubber guard. I will try to adapt this guard in my gi training.
I'm yet to start experimenting with Williams guard (looks very promising) so I kind of had a question on this video which may be obvious to more experienced people. With that leg posted out and the guy on bottom's mobility with his own right leg, would it be feasible to put a butterfly hook in? It seems like he's so wrapped up on his right side he wouldn't be able to post if you rolled to your left and kicked out.
