I've been a Brown Belt since 2022 and also moved back to Missouri to continue my training. I will be brining Rolling/Sparring Video Breakdowns to the channel on a regular basis so stay tuned for more! I'm always looking to improve and what better way to do that than to post my rolls on the internet for people to watch and dissect. What could go wrong? lol
In this video I break down the IBJJF Asian Championship and talk about how Rikako Yuasa utilized shin to shin guard, spider, and lasso to sweep her opponent and remain offense and defense at the same time. I also talk about her fluid and floaty guard passing style that is very similar to how a lot of AOJ Black Belts move.
I have studied a lot of footage of Rikako Yuasa and have implemented a lot of her style and technique into my own game. Especially the fluid movement of the guard passing on top. She is yet another reason why I spend just as much time watching female BJJ as male BJJ. Her lasso game should be studied by any and all who want to get better at the position. Maybe one day we will see her back in the competition scene.

That’s when I was watching her too. Or at least that’s when I could appreciate what she was doing technique wise
@@ursinhobjj yea I started being able to like you said appreciate jiu jitsu as a whole around then but didn't start training till years later. I still keep up with it though, Ffion Davies is another one who has been killing it recently if you haven't seen her.

Does she still train? I remember they said she was missing a few years back.
last I remembered was that her lover/coach unalived himself and she disappeared, this was after 2019 ADCC trials. I dont know what happened after that. one of the best Japanese Jiujiteiro ever.
I don’t know if she still trains, I would like to assume she does but just doesn’t compete anymore

I was one of her teammates and a close friend of her professor. The truth is a little different. The timeline is also slightly different.
But I'm so happy there are some people who remember her and her great achievement.

That's very unfortunate, but she has completely retired, so she no longer trains as far as I know.
