That's the best Rosanna shuffle lesson I've ever seen. And, as ever, only 30 seconds. And when you play it full speed you're playing is sublime. Thanks so much. You're a brilliant teacher.
This is how it’s always notated, but one thing I’ve never been able to do or even seen brought up is the little double stroke/drag thing Porcaro does on the ghost note after the second snare accent.
For beginners: This song 'Rosanna' is not a 'easy' song. This song requires solid techniques as it is one of the Grade 8 Songs for Trinity Rock & Pop Drums. If you just started learning drums, don't be feel strange to find it somehow difficult to master. You can simply carry on learning other intermediate grooves before learning this.
People this is Fool In the Rain by Zeppelin mixed with another song, the Purdy shuffle as someone stated earlier….listen to the Zepppelin & it’s evident that this is where he got it from
Thank you for the breakdown 🐱 Why do you think your right changes grip to an open mouth half way through the fast version? Kudos for keeping the sound the same either way 🔥
It's a Pearl Reference Series kit, and it's all about preference on how close you want your drums. I use a drum rack instead of stands to get the toms a bit lower
Something I never wanted to do as a drummer, but I should’ve done it and I would’ve been way better drummer and this is a lesson for every beginner, slow slow slow slow, slow, slow, slow slow. I hope I didn’t over emphasize you have to play it slow perfectly slow as you need to, I don’t care how boring it is what you’ll find is that you will get much faster the slower you play it first. It’s hard to wrap your head around it but it’s true. Ask any great drummer which I am not because I have no patience
Thanks for watching, guys!
Remember to sub for more videos! 👊🔥

toto - rosanna 👍👍

There is a bass note missing on count 3 in the second measure
I recommend first doing everything else and then learning the kicks
Jeff doesn't play ghosts the whole way, which is nice. The little ghost space gives the song some nice subtle flavour
he does though. in his breakdown of the groove, he's showing that he's playing all the "middle triplet-notes" as ghost notes :)
I want to write a song where every instrument is just ghost notes.
Purdie/Porcaro
Nice, but isn't this a reupload?
It is🤗 (people usually don’t scroll through year-old videos)
This is hard to master
I swear to god if some kid in the comment section says “it sounds like 🟧⬛️” im bout to lose my mind
Keep scrolling those comments…🤣
@@30SecondDrumLessons well shit
i could do the whole beat but not the parts (because i did the song before lol)
Picaro couldn’t have played it any better.
I think he could though! haha ^^
That hi-hat sounds super dark right? Is it just me?
Yeah it’s a dry hihat, homemade from old 16” crashes
@@30SecondDrumLessons Man I’ve been meaning to experiment with larger hi-hats but I just never do
