    Couldn’t agree more! My enter 3 taught me everything I needed to know about 3D printing, from many headaches. I used a Bltouch, and it was NOT plug and play by any means. The CR6-se was so easy, and it prints better out of the box!

    Man I love the switch joke. Love my CR 6 SE.

    The first thing I threw at my CR6 was a long PTFE holder to keep the tube from interfering with the strain gauge. The autolevel is so much better after keeping the tube stable without pulling and pushing on the gauge

    When I set up my CR-6 there was a little clear plastic thing I couldn't identify that wasn't in the instructions or the inventory. It looked like a cable guide but I couldn't work out where it was supposed to go. First thing I printed was a filament guide and as soon as was it finished I realised I now had two...

      Really? I wonder when they started adding those with the printers. I ordered two from their Kickstart campaign, one for me and one for my father, and a friend of mine ordered one from Amazon a few months ago. Neither had that included.
      Oh well, nice of them to add it, anyway.

    Currently have a Cr 6 se, and I am thinking about buying a 2nd printer. I had a lot of issues with the ender 3v2 so I am thinking I get another Cr6 SE, the auto bed leveling helps tremendously. However you can definitely get a nice cheap ender when they are on sale.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад +1

      If you've got the extra dough, I'd go for the CR6 for the ease and convenience. But if you wanna save money, the Ender 3 Pro is still a great cheaper printer.
      That being said, the auto bed leveling of the CR6 has spoiled me. Haha!

    My microusb port doesn't work on my cr6se, I see you have a cable attached to yours. Is that something to make it work?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  2 года назад

      That's just a USB cable that runs to my computer so I can print from within Cura, instead of having to constantly move the SD card back and forth from the printer to the computer and back.
      That sucks about your port not working. Any idea what caused it to stop?

    For the CR-6:
    - Does the fan baffle curtail the intake air volume?
    - For the QR code, why not simply peel it off instead of going to the trouble of covering it?
    - My only issue with the filament guide is sometimes it blocks the end of the old filament from being pulled out when changing filament. That's my experience, anyway.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад

      Hey! I haven't had any issues with the air intake volume. It acts like a snorkel of sorts, it doesn't completely block off airflow.
      The QR cover - This is just another way to customize the machine. It's all for aesthetics. Behind the QR sticker is just a black square and screw heads.
      Is your issue the filament blobbing up at the hot end and causing it to get caught? That happens to me sometimes when I pull it out too slow.

    • @bgm-1961
      @bgm-1961 3 года назад +1

      @@Avel Yes, the one time I tried using the filament guide (which I printed with my resin printer to ensure precision), when I pulled the old filament out, it did exactly as you said... a small blob on the end of the old filament prevented it from going back through the smaller hole of the guide. The only solution was to use a razor blade to cut the filament in the very narrow gap between the extruder motor housing and the filament guide. Then the small bit of filament that remained in the extruder motor housing had to be pushed out from the hot end side after removing the bowden tube. Haven't used the guide since then, and haven't needed it, really. Though since I went to the trouble of printing it (before receiving my CR-6, mind you), I really *want* to use it! Plus it looks cool. Perhaps some day.
      Also, have you considered the add-on for the filament spool holder? I don't know what it's called, but have seen it on one or two other videos, and believe it's on Thingaverse... It's a bearing assembly that more closely matches the inside diameter of the filament spool, and incorporates bearings, which results in a smoother rotation of the spool as the extruder motor pulls the filament. I.e., it supposedly relives any strain of pulling the filament. I haven't looked for it yet, but it's on my list.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад

      @@bgm-1961 Ohh, you're saying it's getting caught in that printed filament guide between the extruder and the out sensor? I know exactly what you mean. I ended up, firstly, drilling that filament guide exit hole out a little bit. And then I removed it completely, for the time being. It really only helped me with flexible filament because that stuff would go everywhere. Any other filament, now, I just guide it with my finger to the extruder.
      But I'm constantly changing things up on the printer, so it's nothing new for me to replace or remove parts that work just fine.
      I haven't seen that spool holder, but I could definitely use the upgrade. If I can manage to find it, I'll try to make it one day and maybe make a video on it. Because this factory one is slooopppy. I constantly see or hear the filament rolls bouncing on it and it drives me nuts. Thanks for the heads up!

    If you remix the filament guide, make it fit a bowden tube, should take out some slack or the too tight hole, also it would let the filament glide through easier

    About the magnetic fan baffle: isn't there a danger that the hot end electronics will overheat because you hinder the outgoing hot air?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад +1

      Hello! The baffle doesn't close off airflow, it just acts sort of like a snorkel, or duct for the air to be pulled from the top side facing the back rather than forward facing.
      The exhaust ports on the enclosure are unaffected.
      Hope that helps!

      @@Avel Are the magnets really necessary? Why simply not glue it or is that a stupid idea? ;)

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад +2

      @@WhiteSparkie It's not a stupid idea. Basically, it boils down to two things. If it's something you want to make more permanent, glue it. If you want to be able to reverse it easily, stick with magnets.
      The purpose of the magnets is to make it easily reversed.

    Pretty nice. How did you power the LED strip and where did you put the switch?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  3 года назад

      Hey, not sure how I never saw this comment.. But they're 24v LEDs running to the power supply of the printer. To mount it, I used Tinkercad to cut a hole in an existing cover that goes on the back of the Ender 3's LED screen.

      Ok I told you that I would get back to you on this printer. Well once I got my Simplify 3D slicer profile updated. It’s is a great printer. I done a sample print of the dog. It turned out perfect. It so smooth that you can’t see any layers in the print. Then I printed a file of mine with the same settings on my Ender 3. And it turned out awesome to with out seeing any layer lines to. Ok now it’s time print your files. I have 4 printers now. This might be one of my best ones. Time will tell. Thanks for all you help.
