    The red light are one of the best features. Great inside tents or if you wish to keep a low profile. Most people are looking for white light not red. I use red a hell of a lot

      Red light for the win! Who needs white light when you have the stealthy red?

    That hand motion control is awesome. Good to add some different content too Dave.

      We used thesae lamps on Saturday night when we packed up from the Lawson markets at 8.30pm, simply the best thing for that purpose.

      Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you're impressed with the O Light key chain. Just make sure you don't lose it in your pocket, it's so small it might disappear!

      That's a good one Dave. The bike is fast without the light. I have gotten it up to 40 MPH going down hill. Some guys have gotten up to 50 MPH. I keep it down to 30-33 MPH@@DavidStanton

    Red light helps preserve peripheral vision better than white light. Eyes adjust to white light, making it more difficult to see objects outside the cone of light. With red, though, that peripheral vision is preserved because the eye does not adjust as much.

    • @raymondsmall7352
      @raymondsmall7352 6 месяцев назад +1

      I believe it’s to do with the dark adaption of the eyes.White 6:00 light adversely affects dark adaption so the periphery is dark. Red lightning does not effect the dark adaptation so the periphery (and the stars) remain visible.

      It’s also less attractive to bugs

      Thank you for pointing out that feature! It's great to know that it not only serves its main purpose but also keeps those bugs away.

    Folks should note there is also an Array 2 Pro in the OLight store, AUD$10.25 more expensive but takes the battery capacity from 2600mah to 3350mah, but appears identical in all other aspects.

    Perhaps influenced by a lot of the olight advertising on RUclips, I ordered a couple of torches and they really are excellent. The magnet charge cables are very handy

    Is it possible to turn the red light on without going through bright white lights first?
    The very reason for needing a red light is for use with night vision, and cycling through bright white lights defeats the purpose somewhat and would seem like a big design flaw?

    Gesture controls are great if they aren’t overly sensitive. Otherwise working with your hands can accidentally react with the motion sensor. Did you experience this with this model?

    • @DavidStanton

      Thanks for sharing your experience! It's always good to hear different perspectives. Personally I haven't found this to be a problem, but I will keep it in mind.

    The Red light is used in stuff like Astro Photography,, and using Telescopes, (used for changing ssettings etc) for viewing the night sky. Red light reduces light polution when doing these activities.
