Good video. You could rebuild the old one and keep it as a spare.

I had issues with mine and my dads ryobi trimmers leaking gas. Both fairly new and low time. Fuel lines in new/ good condition. Disassembled and inspected. Found all 4 carburetor assembly screws loose on both trimmers. Tightened up and purring like a banshee now. Hope this helps you out.

It may be a plastic plug hides the mixture screw. If a plastic plug
covers the mixture screw it can be pulled out for access. Not sure
about a low speed mixture screw but it may be adjacent the purge
bulb, deep in a slot in the metal plate that clamps down that bulb.
If it is there it may have a plastic plug to cover and hide it too.
Obviously the manufacturer wants any tuneup done at a shop
or the mixture adjustments wouldn't be hidden and covered up.
A small D tip adjuster tool may fit the mixture screws or it may
be a small slot that a precision jewelers screwdriver will fit.
I have seen others show a small D tip is what is on a Ryobi.

Sometimes there is a plug hiding the mixture screw(s). The screw on the top of the carb IS the low speed mixture screw. On this ryobi trimmer, there isn't a high-speed mixture screw. The high speed mixture is fixed by the internal jet size. The reason why mixture screws are capped and/or require special tools is because the EPA doesn't want you messing with the mixture and changing the emissions.

@@killer2600 Every 2 stroke I ever owned came set pig rich from the factory
so the engines before broken in will be easier to start. And to run best later
it is leaning them out a bit that is done by the owner to reduce flooding
proclivity and to gain fuel economy. So the EPA is plain stupid to interfere
with a completely counter intuitive belief they are promoting clean air by
making it difficult for owners to tune their small engines. The mixture is
also affected by the carburetor diaphragm and fuel pump diaphragm
and the altitude and the chosen type fuel and fuel oil mixture ratio, so it
requires custom tuning BY THE OWNER that isn't rocket science that
requires an EPA approved "technician" or "service center" to do tuning
that is actually very simple. It is the kind of mechanical algebra any
hillbilly can do, but the EPA seems to believe it's calculus or computer
science to tune a 2 stroke engine. EPA stands for Elitist Piss Ants

The U-bolts on your lift table probably have washers and nuts on the top side of the lift. If you remove those so you only have Nylok nuts and washers underneath then the U-bolts will drop out of the way when you don’t need them.

hi may i ask why didnt you just get a diaphragm for it, or just soak the diaphragm you had in silicone lube or brake fluid for a couple days

      Were the fuel lines replaced?

I would check for spark, a compromised coil will act like this. Also check the fuel lines.
