For this week's episode, we are going back to February when we went together with our friend Danny from the youtube channel esquecidos forgotten to an abandoned house. / @es.forgotten Check out his channel over here. This place belonged to a family of four people who lived in the North of Portugal. They barely got by and even build this place themselves to save money. In this video, we are gonna show you how they lived and what they did in their day to day lives. Kisses Jordy and Lesley x

As usual, I just don't understand how people leave their family photos and religious artifacts behind.
Yeah the same you can almost understand people leaving houses behind there not worth much but surely you would clear it out first and not leave all your personal possessions I just can’t understand anyone doing that unless they literally died and had no relatives to leave it to
That was so nice of the lady. To let you guys . Film and explore the house. You're always very respectful. For all the belongings and things left. Inside the house. I enjoyed this video very much. You guys be careful. Don't catch the Corona virus.
Hey Patricia people in Portugal are very nice! Thank you for watching and stay safe!
The bathroom tiles are so lovely !!! 😀.
How could they not care about precious memories . Why didn't niece at least take the pictures? I don't understand people these days.
I realy don't understand this... :(
Maybe she already has copies of the photographs at least & I got the feeling there was some disharmony in the family
I couldn’t imagine abandoning a home that my parents built with a lot of hard work or leaving their pictures behind. When you showed the helicopter picture it broke my heart. They loved their home enough to buy that picture. It’s so sad
I have that exact same glass vase! The house reminds me so much of the places here, and the one I am living in and renovating now. So many are left to rot because they are not worth enough to tempt the children back to sort everything out to sell them. The one I am in was full of the old lady's belongings. There was only one son, so it was easier to sell when he was ready. But he was too upset to go through her belongings and actually cried when I told him to just take any valuables and I would clean the rest. It was the most amazing experience finding all her old things, most of them ruined, but also some beautiful lacey linens she had made. I can still feel her presence in the house, and the garden. I hope she is pleased with how we are looking after it...
a mystery, why would they leave these precious memories behind, thank you for always showing us the most & best you can, you are always respectful of these peoples memories, I love seeing Europe, as I live in the middle of the USA, Thank you & bless
I never understand why anyone would leave memories behind...
Hi guys it’s Ann again you are very special lads love all your videos you tell us all about what’s been left behind it’s so sad I can’t believe everything is left it makes us all realise we come in the world with nothing an leave with nothing we have to live each day an be grateful an thankful for family and friends bless you thank you for sharing Ann uk
I really enjoy your shows... you are interesting and funny. I have watched a few different explorers but always come back to you ! Keep going and thanks for the entertainment. 💚
Awesome, thank you!
Such a lovely little cottage. Nice to see ordinary houses instead of rich peoples mansions! By the way Lesley we call exhausters... extractors in UK!
Another awesome video. Keep up the great work. From a Canadian gal on the prairies 🇨🇦🍁❤️
Thanks guys, very enjoyable!
Oh my god y'all scared the crap out of me when Jordy fell! I literally jumped and held my breath because I thought something bad/scary was happening. Glad Jordy is ok and that y'all can laugh about it now. I love love love how y'all done the intro with the earth and made it into the home. Such a cozy quaint house! Great job guys!! I really hate that I missed the live stream though.
You're very handsome guys and be careful out there prayers will be with you stay safe.🙏🌹
An overwhelming sadness has come to me...the past, I don't quite know how to express how I feel. I suppose it hurts to see a once happy home deserted and left to rot. I wish they would sell it and surely a new family would fix it up.
Exactly 😢
Loved it as always, guys! It scared me when Jordy almost fell in that well. It reminded me of Lesley almost falling from that roof recently. Hope you all are staying safe out there!
Thank you, Steve, I can't remember almost falling from a roof haha which video was it?
@@BrosOfDecay I'd have to look back. I know it was a recent live stream, but I thought it was a porch roof or something similar. I know you caught yourself in time. I think you were climbing up to a window.
@@BrosOfDecay it was the video of you climbing into the window because the basement was locked. Video was of the home that the upstairs was updated and the top floor had the pool table.
@@BrosOfDecay I think they're talking about the video you done with Jeff.
Beautiful little house, and what a lovely lady. I love how basic the house was and actually I really like the tiles and pink toilet 😄. Hope Jordy's leg dried ok 😂😂. Love you guys. Stay safe so that you can explore more great places when this virus has been dealt with! 😘
What an amazing video!! It was so amazing to meet you guys 😁 a lot crazy unexpected things happen but it was incredible being able to explorer with you guys!!! I hope you guys liked Portugal 🖤🇵🇹 Take care and Stay Safe
You're one of the best people I have met in Years :) Definetly comming back to Portugal to explore again with you bro! It definetly was a crazy and unexpected trip but wow did we have fun on those 2 days haha!
@@BrosOfDecay woah!!! YOU guys are The Best!!!!! Thank you guys!!! Makes my day knowing that 😍 I'm so excited for you to came back and have more incredible adventures!!! Thank you for supporting me and.... THANK YOU 🤟😜
Ah my two favourites 😂 well done everyone such great guys 👏👍💕
Thank you for the tour of this once-loved house. Poor Jordy!! (Of course he always falls into holes. He’s filming, so can’t watch where he is going at the same time. He simply follows you.)
I can feel the vibes of a happily lived family in that cute little cozy house, By the way Say Hi to your mother, she must be very proud of you, thanks and love from Sri Lanka
I really, really liked this video. Somehow I felt drawn to the place. That house must've felt cozy and warm when the family lived there. So sad, like other abandoned places you take us to, that it had to end this way. I hope that lady finds it in her heart to restore it as it's part of her family's history and soul. Thanks guys, keep safe!
So interesting! Thank you!
I love some people allow them to film. Some don't allow even to explore.
In Europa people are very friendly :)
I love you guys, nice house with lots of orange 🍊🍊🍊🍊 Greetings from my house we are still in quarantine
Welcome back!
🍊😎😎😎
The water collected in that tub called a cistern and then used as needed. I lived for a short time in a rented house when first married, 1979. Very old house and although it had modern plumbing there was a tub exactly like that in the dirt cellar full of water that was no longer used. I believe rain water was diverted to it back in the day before modern plumbing.
Hi Lesley and Jordy, Bros of Decay, It was so nice to see, how the owner of the house allowed you to have a look and even gave you tour.
There your good friend Danny was of course also a big help. - You all are very respectful, and i loved watching you taking us viewers on
a tour through the partially unfortunately quite trashed rooms of this house. - The location up in the mountains was wonderful. - Once again
I loved listening to your gentle way of commenting the possible life of the family who lived there. - Wonderful, as usual! - I enjoyed very
much watching! - I am also of course glad, nothing more serious happened to poor Jordy falling into a hole with his leg. - I think it's
sometimes not so easy for him to pay all the time attention to obstacles when he is filming. - "Culture Club" is a very famous British
Pop-band, well known in the 1980ies as far as I remember, with lead singer Boy George. - I hope you are all still well and healthy. - Wishing
you and Danny, all the best.
Stay safe in these still insecure times and take good care! - Lots of blessings, peace and kindest regards.
The white dress is a baptism dress. Very traditional and generally used for generations.
This was really primitive having no running water I can see why the family did not want to take it on as it would have cost too much to modernise..but it’s sad still how people think they have a right because somewhere is empty to go in and trash the place..but that’s yobs now days..Stay safe boys 😀
Christine Ingram so true:
Love this! Wow what a great find ~ Tell Jordy, I am always falling into things too LOL He is not alone in falling....please take care of yourselves, stay safe & healthy!
It's sad that they haven't put the families belonging in a box, they might not want the house but there's still personal belongings that could be saved!!
I agree the niece just walks through their as if it does nothing to her :(
Hello Lesley and Jordy! Thank you to Danny for your help. Small house but I am thinking in the time of the family living there everything was fine for them. Very sad the family not take care of the place . Thank you for show respect and to be polite ! I am hope Jordy is okay. Please take care of yourselves and your parents! 👋🇺🇸👍😷💖😘
Hi bro of decay,i am new of your blog im so amazed to your blog,,,keep it up guys,,,god bless you,,,love yah,,,,
Wow! This is quite unique as you get to meet someone connected to the house. I really enjoy your videos (the Italy series was just breathtaking) and your English and presentations skills are just amazing 👍 You guys are super respectful and I can see your genuine passion for the sites you visit. I’m subscribing for sure and look forward to seeing the next videos. Stay safe and well 😊❤️👌
There’s always sad story in every houses !!! Sad !
Awsome video guys👍 Be safe an stay healthy. Be waiting for the next video. Love u guys much😘 Bye now.
Thank you Carol stay safe!
That was interesting. It’s so sad that the family let this nice home go to rack and ruin. They could have sold it.🤗
Love that drone shot. Amazing!
What a coincidence to meet a family member. The place must have been very beautiful at the time. Very interesting Lesley! Love the music of the video!
Hello Lesley, that's one of a kind experience in video venture, you have encountered the owner of the house and permitted you to have your video, a pity house because it was vandalized so much and in a very advance decay, but i can't help my self to stop laughing at you when you fall on the canal he he🤣, that's why always be careful while doing your video, ok God bless you and keep you from harm always, 'love you.. Watching you here from the Philippines 🇵🇭😻😻😻🙏
U r so humble and caring to these belongings...and also show us with utmost respect. Ur my favorite explorer pls bro be safe from virus....stay healthy..🙂
I have been watching Danny's channel for a few days now. People should definitely watch him too.
👍🇵🇹😊
Such an incredible look into a families history. It's so sad when things are just abandoned. ❤️
You both...awesomeeee..❤❤
Great video guys...Jordy should disinfect his shoe after falling into that stagnant water!...
He did Maggie thanks for caring for us x
Good explore God bless you boys stay safe.
Honestly, this will prove to be the BEST post ever - the REALISM rang true. (hint why not post all video with realism accidents and problems, also now I am interested in why is the brother missing.)
Please tell the owner THANK YOU. And thank you for sharing this home with us. Tell you friend not to Pee his pants again....LOL
Haha I will :) x
Oooh damn, that opening sequence though :P
Hello from Elk Washington. USA. Love looking at the places you take us. You be safe over there and GOD BLESS.
It is sad that people just abandon their homes ! Many live in rented places and have little to their names whilst others just walk away from their belongings owned directly or through inheritance 😳🤭🥺
I say that concrete tank was a traditional grape crushing tank to make wine not hold water. That makes sense with the wine jugs hanging. There must have been a missed water source and sink. Also no way they cooked by hanging a pot above an open fire like hundreds of years ago. There must have been a stove top gas burner using a propane tank they or others took.

Welcome to the family!
I enjoyed this episode. Here in NeZealand we have very few abandoned homes. We are the 76th largest country in terms of area but we only have a population of 4.7 million. We actually have a housing shortage so abandoned homes a re few and far between
I love you guys! You are the best! Leslie, I can always hear the real concern you have for Jordy, in your voice, but once you knew he was okay, you laugh so much. Lol! You are so cute! I too am so glad Jordy is okay. Poor guy gets tripped up a lot. Must be hard to get around while trying to film. Thanks for all the great vlogs, Jordy and Leslie! 😘😘🙂
Yes Lisa filming and walking around togheter are not easy big credits to Jordy :D
Hi love your videos. If that lady is a relative why does she not take those pictures especially the one with her in the picture those would be memories???
I'm suprised the woman not take care of the house even tho her family did nt care.if she's so close by it
I am so shocked how dismissive some people are of their childhood homes. No sentiment at all in their bodies! I would never treat our own house this way. Even if I become rich and I have a chance to live in a mansion, I would at least make sure our old house is taken care of for it's sentimental value or maybe even sell it to someone who would love it as we did.
Stay safe guys. What a tiny house and yet it had all kinds of rooms. I loved those old ovens.
Me encanta la casa, la imagino en su mejor momento, gracias por compartir, un abrazo.
This was a sweet simple home, possibly from the 1930s or 40s. I love those wood fired stoves and ovens. It reminds me of my Grandparents home in the 1850s. People kept offering to buy her an electric stove and she wasn’t having any of it. I learned to cook on her sawdust burning stove, there was an outhouse, but she allowed a proper bathroom to be built in the mud. Room. People lived harder in many ways then, and yet a great deal simpler than today. Thanks for the memories...and stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦
what do you guys think about Portugal? its your first time in Portugal ? :) nice video liked
It was a great country really liked it! Was our first time :)
@@BrosOfDecay i love your work keep going :)
I love that last bedroom, mother nature completely took over. Amazing view and an awesome way to wake up every morning.🍃
Hopefully the birds didn't poop all over me!🦉🦅or enounter any critters. 🦗🐜🕷
Elizabeth, a grape vine probably covered the beams above to form a canopy.
"Abandoned House Of A Religous Impoverished Portuguese Family" - I think you meant "Religious" just pointing it out :)
Did not even notice. He’s so cute who cares if he misspells something
I think the girls dress is maybe a communion dress
Could be true!
Dorothy, I think it was a christening or baby baptism gown.
@@christinenikiforovs9820 oh maybe you right,looked a bit big for a baby💖
She asked why you're there and you told her you saw a tv ...LOL Ok she said, you can go on. 🤣
I thnk people who r very religious become very rigid bciz they think of God as an accountant, who keeps track if their right n wrong
...... So they lose their spontenity... I keep sway from poor people
So sad, family it seems, are so busy living there own lives, these days that they don't want to take time out to sort out their parents belongings, As it says in the Holy Bible, "The love of the greater number will cool off"
🌿 🐦 🌸 🌿 🐦 🌸 🌿 🐦 🌸
If I was the Portuguese woman, I would not come in with these guys, who she did not know so far. Lucky her, they are good guys. Also, Portugese and Spanish persons are very friendly.
I Like you,and i love you too my brother ☺
It's to bad she showed up... You two do better alone.
Oo I actually liked to hear her story aswell 😳
Thank you for another awesome video! Your kind heart is what makes these videos even more special. I have to say that even if I didn’t have a good relationship in life with my relatives I don’t think I could leave a house to rot like this. It’s such a shame!!a thank you for a peek inside! All the best!
That last bedroom was amazing!
What is Danny's YT channel i cannot get it?
👍👍👍👍
the lady probably wanna make sure.her family didn’t let any expensive stuff in the house.so she had to go in the house to check before she let you guys in the home.
It sad that it was just left to rot away. If the kids didn’t want it they should have given it to another family member or to somebody that would have taken care it that needed a home.
I like when you open the litle cabinet and pick the pink PENICO!
LOL! Make us smile.
Do they owe taxes in the house 🏡? Maybe they lost the house for lack of payment or taxes haven’t been paid since the owners died and it’s to expensive to reclaim property.
Cool👍👍👍👍
You didn’t say what happened to the family. What’s the reason they abandoned their home?
It’s very sad to see that people just leave like that!
love your channel ...... and you are very beautiful....😍❤️
Thank you Sandra ☺️❤️
@@BrosOfDecay 😘
I love your chanel quys for a 58 years old woman you are great i don't understand how people can leave their stuff behind but he

You are so kind Thank you for watching!
Exactly! Poor Jody, how difficult his job! Nice work guys God bless and take care always
Hi guys, well finally you found an abandoned place that had no terrible tragedy to it they just didn't want to live there any more so they moved to Germany...but it looks like they would have sold their things for money and rented the house...good video..and Jordy son watch where your stepping lol...😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sorry most places we visit are very tragic but this was had some joy to it to an extend :) Thank you for watching!
Wow how often does that happen when a family member turns up thanks once again
Very nice little house hope Jordy is ok and you help him wash that poop of his leg❤️
Hola chicos soy su fan desde Chile🇨🇱 Sudamérica ❤️

Epic work as always guys! Would love to meet up been a huge fan for years! ❤
That small child’s dress was a christening robe.😀
O thanks for the information :)
Religious stuff is creepy.
I agree Rachel!
Why would she just leave all those pictures and possessions in the house?
You guys need to eat. Bet you both weigh about 140-150
