Had not seen a doctor in 18 mos. and they took my BP and asked about my mental health and if I had any problem....."You tell me." and I offended the doctor. Same for my DH who is 74 and recovering from prostate cancer. I'm a 73 y/o nurse and want to know what the heck is going on with medicine. Had not had an incident of atrial fib for 22 mos (only on episode previously). and finally had a small episode and they wanted to put me on a bunch of stuff......NOPE. I offered the solution of "pill in a pocket". My initial episode was treated with lot "junk" and my heart rate went down into the 30's, hair fell out and they say you are now hypertensive; sick the 6 mos I was on the "junk". They would not listen and I stopped it all. I don't have Bp problems after going off all that junk, no cholesterol problems and am not diabetic???????

Important message on Nitrates rich foods
I have a diet high in nitrates and it has helped my blood pressure so greatly. But , I actually had an excess of nitrates covert to nitrites and when I made corned beef and cabbage (cabbage high in nitrates) ( corned beef has added nitrates) as a side dish over a 2 week period , cooked at high temperature , boiled , it converts nitrites into dangerous Nitrosamines that can cause cancer. I was shocked I had never heard it till I read it in a medical publication ! I've been eating this my whole life ! Do not heat nitrates at high temps and avoid processed meats please..
Vegetables with high nitrates can improve your heart health, but cured meats may increase your risk of cancer.
Nitrates are also added to some foods, such as meats and certain varieties of cheese, to prevent the growth of bacteria and improve the food's taste and color. Why You Should Avoid Lots of Foods High in Nitrates..
Experts think that the antioxidants (such as vitamin C) in vegetables with high nitrates help prevent their breakdown into nitrosamines. When your body breaks down the nitrates from vegetables, it makes nitric oxide instead of nitrosamines. Nitric oxide increases your blood flow and blood pressure, keeps your heart healthy, and helps your body make hormones and other signaling molecules. Foods high in added nitrates, such as cured meat, aren't high enough in antioxidants to keep them from breaking down into nitrosamines.
Eating a lot of foods with added nitrates can increase your health risks for:
Methemoglobinemia in infants (blue baby syndrome)
Development of cancer, especially digestive cancers, such as colorectal, stomach, and esophagus cancer
    Complications during pregnancy
    Foods With Added Nitrates
Some cured meats have nitrates added to preserve them and improve their color and taste. Examples include:
    Bacon
    Bologna
    Canned meat
    Corned beef
    Deli meat
    Ham
    Hot dogs
    Pepperoni
    Salami
    Sausage
    😬Yikes !

I get a bacon called naked which is just salt ..sometimes I buy pork chops and I put it in a bowl with salt and yoghurt over night. The yoghurt makes it tender and the salt makes it like bacon! I am not sure what the legit process is for making bacon but I had a recipe years ago that did this and realised it turned pink like bacon! The recipe had whole limes in it and cream! The first time I made it was amazing but I've lost the recipe so I have tried to make it and never been as nice as the first time. The limes kinda go soft anyway. Maybe you could buy pork and salt it yourself with sea salt at home!

Nice. I'm trying my best to avoid all processed meats and those with GMO or meat additives to preserve it. I buy fruits veggies coop farms and I am looking for local farm raised natural meats. So expensive though to eat healthy. But we have to try right 👍 The government should reward natural food providers and tax the bad food corporations to pay for it IMHO.

    • @Padraigp
      @Padraigp 5 дней назад +6

@sgalla1328 absolutely unfortunately the government doesn't work for us right now. They work for the corporations. Id say a smaller amount of better food costs the same as a larger amount and doesn your body more favours at the end of the day. I im really lucky my co op works on donations so when I'm broke I can get food for 20 cent and when I have money I pay it back. I try to give the going rate for organic food and sometimes I give more and sometimes I take more. I also live in that area where there is an eco village no pesticides so I gather fallen apples and nettles and herbs and weeds and make nettle soup and freeze the apples to make juice or pies. Make tonics with weeds for ailments and that. Nettles I figure are better than any of those powders in the " wholefood" shop. And free! Meat id say is the most expensive. I'm also lucky that my rent is not insane. Its still half my income but there ya go. Not a penny to spare. When people have the tokens of exchange they can live and do and make when somone is hoarding it things stands still. Its so aweful a situation. For want of tokens ..that you can't take with you to the grave. Good luck to you! Nice chatting.🙂

He passed from numerous related complications of widespread metabolic dysfunction , largely of the Cardiovascular system. All his life up until the last several years he ate healthy with limited carbs and sugars , plenty of proteinsources and fibers. In the last several years he and my mother gravitated towards a diet of increasing carb and sugary foods . She developed macular degeneration and some other diabetic health issues , heart disease was one of them from which she died at 96. Hi Dr. Li, I’ve just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it. I’m hoping you can help me though. My husband retired from the military about 5 years ago. In the past two years I’ve seen a real decline. He’s only 56 but he has weakness and cramping in his legs, abdominal cramping that causes him to scream, he’s exhausted all the time so his energy level is really poor. There’s a spot on his back that came as a rash and now looks like a scar. When he’s really unwell he has trouble swallowing, gets severe diarrhea and his focus gets really low and thick. I’m truly worried about him. He has high cholesterol, NIDD, Raynard’s since childhood, and has had back surgery for severe degeneration of the vertebrae in L4-6 due to the military. He’s been on tours and more specifically the golf war he had to take a nerve agent. The only thing in his bloodwork is an elevated ANA and at one point elevated magnesium. He’s been seeing a specialist who has done bloodwork and says come back in 6 mths. He’s been tested for MS and ALS which have been negative. He has 10 frontal lobe lesions that he was told are nothing to worry about. I need your help!,,

Wonderful. Teaching, thank you so much for sharing. What about those machines that create vibration massage and are run by electricity that you can plug in and put your feet on. You can control the amount of vibration with a dial. You use it sitting down.
Do you see benefits in leg circulation using this device.? Please. Comment for us. We love you Dr Li

No I do not think they are too long!!!!!
Plz they are complete and I can’t get this information from any other doctor!!
How could you say that!! Then you truncate the information that people need so desperately, just bc you have no patience to care about or to learn what he has to say! Where else will you receive such detailed information without paying for it!! HOW COULD YOU BE SO CRUEL AS TO SUGGEST
LESS CONTENT!!!!!!! Plz leave him alone! We finally have a Doctor who is willing to care for people, and bc you can’t find two different times to listen, (good gracious ), you want all of us, that do need his information, to go without, and suffer!!
    That is very selfish!

Yes I have pad and diabetes plus I had a heart attack and 2 stents. True you loose feeling in your feet and legs. Always keep check and examine your feet and legs. I had a beniging ulcer I cleaned it and applied raw honey and a light gauze on it cleaned it everyday and reapplied for several months it dried up and the dead skin was slowly peeled off I only have a scar where it originated. Always wear white cotton socks but I find that I can't wear socks the elastic cause my feet to swell even diabetic socks.

I really like the clarity of this video. However, the treatment for these conditions doesn’t have to be so complex and expensive. Simply by adopting a healthy low-fat, plant-based (vegan) diet can prevent and reverse most of these conditions. This has been successfully demonstrated in thousands of patients of Drs. John McDougall and Dean Ornish. (For people unfamiliar with this topic and wanting to learn more, the film, “Forks Over Knives,” is an excellent resource.)
