When I was Stationed in Kuwait in 2007 I met a young Sergeant who had the unfortunate first name of Cocaine. Now that I'm older I can see how much of a jerk I was for laughing in this guy's face. The look of embarrassment on his face fills me with regret. Because I know I wasn't the only one to laugh or make fun of his name. And having to deal with that for the rest of his life has to suck.
Story 1: Okay, if this is true, the parents are major jerks for doing this and should've had the name rejected on the birth certificate. It would've fine if you just wanted to use the first name "Anakin", but to actually put in "Skywalker", you're literally asking for trouble and ridicule here. Honestly, if i were the OP, i would consider a name change here if it bothers them this much. Kids and teachers in school are bad enough, but its only going to get way worse outside of school. I can get wanting to keep "Anakin", but you should do whatever it takes to get rid of "Skywalker", otherwise the treatment of the OP will not improve. Story 2: OK, if anyone is the narcissist its the husband here.... not to mention very insecure and abusive. This is very bad and unacceptable behaviour and doesnt sound like this is a one-time thing. If i were the OP, i would consider seperating or divorce here. Story 3: I would've 100% called the cops on this Chad guy. I think its more likely that he's a scouting thief rather then a door to door solicitor. Those kinds of people dont come out that late and definitely dont come back unless asked to. I think its safe to say he had every intention of coming back to rob them. Story 4: This old landlord guy sounds either very forgetful or just crazy. Why he's targeting the OP like this i have no idea. I would 100% appeal and countersue. If you dont, then who knows what else he'll try and do here. A good thing the other patrons and the gym staff were on the OP's side here... along with possible cameras, because a lot of times, they are generally on the woman's side on things like this. Also, if this Karen is known to cause issues, why not revoke her membership?
@@Nezumi_Yasu my thoughts exactly, although it seems that he might be trying to cheat, as he didn't accuse her of cheating, but of trying to attract someone at her work. This is speculation, but the likely scenario he is cheating.

It seriously irritates me when parents will use their kid's names as fashion statements. They're not the ones who have to live with that name on a daily basis, and will be stuck with it for a minimum of eighteen years.
Story 2: OP's husband is abusive. This is abuse. What more does she need? He is destroying her property, blaming her for his destruction of her property, he's accusing her of infidelity, and he's using threatening body language, behaviour, and words. I'd suggest she wait until he's at work, go to their place, and take photos of every room, hallway, etc. she needs proof of how everything looked before she packs all her belongings. Then pack every personal item she owns, and half of the household items they purchased together, then take more photographs of every room after her items have been put in the moving vehicle to show that she left the house in a reasonable state, and that she left X of his personal items and X of their household items behind when she left. Then place the divorce papers on the kitchen counter and leave. Take one last photo of the front door as she leaves so it's timestamped that she left the property at X time. It is extremely unlikely that this man's behaviour is going to get better, but it could very well get worse. The photographs are there protect herself from any lies he may come up with in divorce mediation/court about her stealing his things or damaging the property. If she can prove via time & date stamped photos that she left X behind, or she put holes in the walls as she was leaving, then it's unlikely the court will believe any further lies he & his legal representation may come up with.
Listen to the story about the guy working out at the gym. Okay i get that OP 1 doesnt like being made fun of for a name. But he also states he would do the exact same thing to his own kid, even if they are just using the first name people will still know what its from. Seems like Anakin is already turning to the dark side.
I have a friend who named her first born Anakin because he was a miracle baby and because she is a huge Star Wars fan. I realize now from this post how bad it could go though. Remember legal name changes are a thing OP.
My parents named my sister “Anikka” based off of Anikan Skywalker. They knew she would’ve been bullied if they named her after the actual character, so they shortened it, and made it cleaner.
Story 1: Those parents SUCK! Seriously, why would you do that to your kid!? But the OP needs to either change their name or stop complaining. Story 2: Restraining order, concealed carry weapon permit, “pewpew”, locks changed, AND a divorce are what OP needs. That guy is an absolute nightmare. Story 3: Solicitors can be such bullies, and they are insufferably obnoxious. Especially when they claim to be a nice person. I’d report that jerk to the city for harassment of senior citizens, and consider a lawsuit or a TRO. Story 4: File a restraining order of your own against the roommate/landlord, along with a countersuit for abuse of process, harassment, defamation of character, breach of lease, forced eviction, violation of tenant’s rights, and intentional infliction of emotional stress. Story 5: I’d file a harassment/defamation suit against that Karen, and see about getting her blacklisted from every gym in the tri-county area. Nothing gives her the right to hog the equipment, be ultra territorial, and spread lies.
Story 1: i too love avatar the last Airbender its one of my top 3 favourite tv shows in my childhood and my most favourite character in it is avatar kyoshi
Story 4: yeah OP had better lawyer up immediately. If for no other reason than the fact that his roommate filed a stolen goods claim. If the insurance company honors the claim they're almost certainly going to file a criminal complain about it.
The only way to get passed the bullying is to own your name I mean my name is Tara so all through elementary school I was called pterodactyl or A rat.... but after I got a little older and realized that my school was not the center of the world I started coming up with my own wise cracks like if I was a rat I would give them the black plague or something....once you own ur name it's no longer a thing anymore.... and just remember that you are not the only person with a tender spot
Sometimes in a relationship it takes a while for a person's true personality to show. Sometimes that true personality has ruined relationships for them in the past and so they hold it back but at the same time they are bottling things up. Then one day that bottle breaks. The fact that he is showing these signs now is a huge red flag. I am a survivor of female aggressor male victim domestic violence. It took 3 years before my toxic ex showed her true personality but by then she already had me trapped. She trapped me for 18 years before I could escape with my two sons and thank God I did.
As for the first story, if that's true, then that's extreme torture by the parents to name the OP Anikan Skywalker. It's like naming him or her Jacob Heimer-Schmidt. Good lord...
For the roommate situation, i don't think a lawyer is necessary as the amount should be handled in small claims which typically don't allow lawyers anyway.
Story 1: The OP needs to change his name. There’s simply no other option. His idiot psychopath parents set him up for a life of Hell. Maybe join the French Foreign Legion, they’re all about giving a man a new start in life, even giving them a new name. It’s one way to leave your past life behind.
@@Eric0225 Just a thought, but when someone enlists in the Foreign Legion, they give that a person a new legal name entirely, that they have to use for the first year of their contract, and a French passport. The legionnaire then has the option to keep using that name or go back to their original name. Now, granted enlisting in the Legion just to get a new identity legally is kind of extreme, but between Insufferable Imbecile parents and being bullied by his classmates, teammates, teachers, and coaches, but extreme is what’s needed for the OP.
@@darkwarriormaster9644 true, but i'd say changing your name is easier and less risky. I mean, imagine getting sent to fucking Afghanistan because the only option to change your name was to join the French military 🤣
@@Eric0225 Well, first I think you’re sent to North Africa as a legionnaire before anywhere else. Second, yeah, your suggestion is a lot easier and less dangerous. Although, my suggestion is a better way of saying That Man Is Dead, both ironically and fittingly a trope that comes up a lot in Star Wars, especially in regards to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and (appropriately) Ben Solo/Kylo Ren.
That's you though. He had literally no choice in the matter. If his parents liked that name so much, they can change their own damn name and give their kid something presentable.
The sad fact on the first story the kid who played the young Anakin Skywalker in the first prequel Star Wars movie was bullied so severely by his peers for playing the character who will become Darth Vader in the following movies that he took his own life to escape the harassment
It's not though? Usually physical appearance is the number one bullied thing on a kid. Like you actually have to be denser than a hippo to think that it's at all normal for even teachers to bully a child because of their name. It's pretty damn obvious that the parents are at fault. They could've picked any name they wanted, and they picked something that was absolutely 10,000% going to get their child bullied.
Bro, ny name is Lucas Walker, my whole life I've heard jokes about star wars and i hate the movies, but i got along with the jokes and bullying, my e-mail to this day has skywalker on it
I'm not likely to ever have kids, but if I ever have a daughter, I might consider Ahsoka as a middle name. That's as far as I'd go. To go as far as those parents did is insanity as far as I'm concerned.
I’m sure my little brother would appreciate me after the first story. When it came time to name him, me and one of my other brothers were old enough to name him. My brother wanted to name him Trunks, after the Dragon Ball character. I was playing NBA Street on the GameCube and I named him after my favorite basketball player.
Hubby and I asked our 2 1/2 daughter what we should name her sister. She was really into The Lion King at the time. So she said, "Rrrooaaar". MIL suggested Aurora. We ended up naming her Jessica/Jess for her nickname. It was the only name we both could agree on. She went back to watching Pokemon and said we should name her Pika a couple of days later so she wasn't too disappointed. Lol
3:44 No, comparing the name Anakin Skywalker to Harry Potter does *not* work at all. Harry Potter, although now a famous character, is a common and normal name in English-speaking society. Anakin Skywalker is certainly not common in any culture on earth, and has no chance of being a coincidence.
I have a friend who's head to toe in wonder women tattoos and she named her son "Gambit" which unless you're a 90's kid and/or an X-Men fan u have no clue...UNTIL MARCH when X-Men 97 comes out, Gambits 12 now lol
That second story, im pretty sure that he's cheating, and that's why he's so crazy about her cheating. And to be honest, this is 100% divorce territory even if he's not cheating.
2nd story: now don't go crazy on me but to me it sounds like the husband might have a few people in his ears telling him stuff like "She's gonna cheat on you, just look at how she dolls herself up" so it might have been a mental breakdown caused by the constant fear and such.
I'm not sure you can Legally give your child a last name that isn't yours or your spouses. _But if you can:_ Maybe OP can use this as an opportunity to get them to change his name. He can find his birth certificate, make a copy, put the vopy where the original was and keep the original. Then move out and tell them he's not coming back until he gets his name legally changed to a name he wants. And if his parents call the police on him, he can show the original birth certificate to use as proof he's not related to them since they don't have the same last name.
I read an excellent comment. Imagine the neighbor kid, 8-10 yo, coming outside and yelling at the top of their lungs, "Hey Anakin $, come out and play" If it makes you cringe then it makes your child cringe $ or Gertrude, Bertha, Cholmondoley and similar old fashioned names Even more ridiculous are names invented because the parents want to celebrate their existence jointly thru their offspring. An imaginary example would be Jonathan + Amanda = Jonanda for a girl AND Amathon for a boy!
Your husband's having an affair, Sweetie. Or he's about to. He's projecting his behavior onto you, so he can blame you when he gets caught. Or he's planning on leaving you, and wants to make you the bad guy to your friends and family.
If you've got a name like Anakin Skywalker, you've really only got 2 choice, cuz the jokes will not stop. Ever. Maybe when you're collecting Social Security, people finally will have realized that George Lucas is a hack, that Star Wars is just ok, and maybe forgotten about it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Until then, you're only choices are to lean into it and occasionally reply sarcastically, "Wow. That's a good one. I definitely didn't hear that one every day for my entire life," or you can change it and forget about it. But that's really it.
Wow for the first story i agree with the narrator. The parents are jerks for that name. But i am also really shocked and confused about the difference in the last name mainly because I had no idea that the parents could actually give their newborn a different last name than them. I just learned something new today
If it makes you feel better OP My parents nicknamed me after a female character from Futurama 🤦♀️ As a child, i hated it and I'm older now and i don't care lmao I am nicknamed by so many character names I don't mind expect one and that's Rain Goddess (My legal name is a unique name, hence the nicknames lol. And people often say Rain Goddess and i don't like that) Makes me uncomfortable when people say it since it leads to bad jokes My name is a Mayan name and it's Rain Goddess and water as it's meaning I also get comments about me being a water bender (Avatar the last Airbender, never watched it so idk lmao)
*Story 1:* I don't get why anyone would name their child after a *Star Wars* character. Luke doesn't sound like a bad name. I've known people named Luke, or Lukas. But Anakin? What's awful is the bullying as a result of the name. Why? How does that justify the bullying?

As for the first story, if that's true, then that's extreme torture by the parents to name the OP Anikan Skywalker. It's like naming him or her Jacob Heimer-Schmidt. Good lord...
For the roommate situation, i don't think a lawyer is necessary as the amount should be handled in small claims which typically don't allow lawyers anyway.
Story 1: Vader is a haaard nickname. But them parents are stupid.
Story 1: The OP needs to change his name. There’s simply no other option. His idiot psychopath parents set him up for a life of Hell. Maybe join the French Foreign Legion, they’re all about giving a man a new start in life, even giving them a new name. It’s one way to leave your past life behind.
i mean your first solution is reasonably but JOINING THE FRENCH ARMY????
When I was a kid my dad gave me the nickname DarthLiamus and I thought it was fun and I liked it. I feel so bad for the OP in story one
Honestly I would like being named after Kingdom Hearts character. So.... i kinda get Sky's parents
That's you though. He had literally no choice in the matter. If his parents liked that name so much, they can change their own damn name and give their kid something presentable.
These comments are atrocious. I feel like at least a solid 90% of these comments were written by 13 year olds who know nothing about life.
Psa for everyone, don't name ya fuckin kid after anything from show, video game, any bullshit like that
Imagine having to say "I'm your father" to your own child 😂
Edit: dont hate me, but that name is better than Snape 😅
The sad fact on the first story the kid who played the young Anakin Skywalker in the first prequel Star Wars movie was bullied so severely by his peers for playing the character who will become Darth Vader in the following movies that he took his own life to escape the harassment
Jake Lloyd is still alive. Although, he does suffer from paranoid schizophrenia, but that has nothing to do with bullying.
Op 1.. welcome to being a student... People will find a reason to make in fun of you.. your name is the most normal reason to be harassed 😂😂
Bro, ny name is Lucas Walker, my whole life I've heard jokes about star wars and i hate the movies, but i got along with the jokes and bullying, my e-mail to this day has skywalker on it
Bro that name is fire
I'm not likely to ever have kids, but if I ever have a daughter, I might consider Ahsoka as a middle name. That's as far as I'd go. To go as far as those parents did is insanity as far as I'm concerned.
If in story 1 the parents went on to name him Anakin Skywalker then they certainly did not foreshadow him turning into Darth Vader.
Name your pets after fictional characters, not your kids.
The OP in the first story is straight up me in an alternate universe
My name was Salem Holmes, lots and lots of Sherlock references and jokes 🙄
Still, Could Be Worse
Hopefully they don't call you a high functioning sociopath like the BBC one
I’m sure my little brother would appreciate me after the first story. When it came time to name him, me and one of my other brothers were old enough to name him. My brother wanted to name him Trunks, after the Dragon Ball character. I was playing NBA Street on the GameCube and I named him after my favorite basketball player.
Hubby and I asked our
2 1/2 daughter what we should name her sister. Lol
i feel bad for dude 1
Story One: The young man will face some serious hurdles job hunting. Seriously no company will take him seriously because of that name.
There is good news when Op from the first story becomes 18 he can legally change his own name
5th story : Wild Karen encountered on planet Fitness 😂
U ARE THE CHOSEN ONE
BRING BALANCE TO THE FORCE ANAKIN

No, comparing the name Anakin Skywalker to Harry Potter does *not* work at all. Harry Potter, although now a famous character, is a common and normal name in English-speaking society. Anakin Skywalker is certainly not common in any culture on earth, and has no chance of being a coincidence.
For the first one, why doesn’t he choose Ken as a nickname?
As a huge Star Wars fan, I would never name my kid anything from it. I mean…the hell?
At least name your semen demon just Anakin. It’s less rediculus than naming him after a Star Wars character.
Honestly by itself it’s not a terrible sounding name without star wars
@@vexxama yes
I have a friend who's head to toe in wonder women tattoos and she named her son "Gambit" which unless you're a 90's kid and/or an X-Men fan u have no clue...UNTIL MARCH when X-Men 97 comes out, Gambits 12 now lol
Well, hello there, General Jerk. I've sense Lord vader is in the thumbnail, and my imperial trooper
That second story, im pretty sure that he's cheating, and that's why he's so crazy about her cheating.
And to be honest, this is 100% divorce territory even if he's not cheating.
He should just tell people his middle name is Vader😅 or LUKE as it sounds more normal
Story 2: consider divorce, this could be the beginning of a spiral ending with you being abused.
Honestly, the husband is an absolute knucklehead!!!
2nd story: now don't go crazy on me but to me it sounds like the husband might have a few people in his ears telling him stuff like "She's gonna cheat on you, just look at how she dolls herself up" so it might have been a mental breakdown caused by the constant fear and such.
My dad named me after some female starwar character
Didn’t know you could just give your kids a completely different and new surname . Wonder if there’s extra paperwork involved or if it’s all the same
Ainakin is cool name but getting bullied just For a fucking name
Ikr like wtf?
It's Darth Vader but shit man
Story 1: Wow you might want to change your name ASAP
I'm not sure you can Legally give your child a last name that isn't yours or your spouses.
_But if you can:_ Maybe OP can use this as an opportunity to get them to change his name.
He can find his birth certificate, make a copy, put the vopy where the original was and keep the original. Then move out and tell them he's not coming back until he gets his name legally changed to a name he wants. And if his parents call the police on him, he can show the original birth certificate to use as proof he's not related to them since they don't have the same last name.
That's the worst plan I've ever seen dude
@@luke-il5nr
Why?
I read an excellent comment. Imagine the neighbor kid, 8-10 yo, coming outside and yelling at the top of their lungs, "Hey Anakin $, come out and play" If it makes you cringe then it makes your child cringe
$ or Gertrude, Bertha, Cholmondoley and similar old fashioned names
Even more ridiculous are names invented because the parents want to celebrate their existence jointly thru their offspring. An imaginary example would be Jonathan + Amanda = Jonanda for a girl AND Amathon for a boy!
Yes let the hate run through you
Story 1: Ken Walker. Normal name. Done.
This is proof why certain obsessed fans of a certain franchise shouldn’t have kids at all
I would name my kid Anakin but use it as a nickname I would name him after me
Your husband's having an affair, Sweetie.
Bro Skywalker is a hero not a violent
If it makes you feel better OP
My parents nicknamed me after a female character from Futurama
🤦♀️
As a child, i hated it and I'm older now and i don't care lmao
I am nicknamed by so many character names
I don't mind expect one and that's Rain Goddess
(My legal name is a unique name, hence the nicknames lol. And people often say Rain Goddess and i don't like that)
Makes me uncomfortable when people say it since it leads to bad jokes
My name is a Mayan name and it's Rain Goddess and water as it's meaning
I also get comments about me being a water bender (Avatar the last Airbender, never watched it so idk lmao)
Anakin i have the highground
Anakin
😂😂😂
There aint no way anakin liked the last 3
*Story 1:* I don't get why anyone would name their child after a *Star Wars* character. Luke doesn't sound like a bad name. I've known people named Luke, or Lukas. But Anakin? What's awful is the bullying as a result of the name. Why? How does that justify the bullying?
