Currently looking at used cars and have fallen in love with a Nismo Juke, my friends, family and gf think it is silly but I don't care. If it gives me half as much joy as it did to you then it is worth it.
I do recommend them, especially in 6-speed manual. They do have potential for the timing chain/guides wearing out and failing, which costs a couple grand to fix, and for the turbo oil feed line to become blocked, though that's just a couple hundred to replace, if it's done preventatively. Like any used car, be prepared for something fairly expensive to break, including the CVT if you get an automatic. The car truly brought me so much joy and was my constant companion for nearly 9 years straight. Sadly, I finally sold it a week ago. I simply needed something larger with 4 wheel drive, and couldn't justify hanging onto the Juke. Luckily, it was bought by a fellow Juke enthusiast, someone who actually saw this video a couple years ago, and he has plans to fix it up a bit, and make it faster. It was really sad to see it go, but I put 167,000 miles on it and moved my life forward by having it. I'd like to have another one someday, for fun. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!!!!
I love this video, and I love your car! The damage adds character, so many stories haha. I work at a dealership in Scotland and we got a 2016 RS in, I fell in love with how it drove. It's just so fun, even compared to more expensive cars with more horsepower. I actually bought it! Just waiting on some paintwork getting done, and I'm glad I saw this video because it's nice to see the fun factor doesn't completely fade away after while. All the best man.
Hey thank you so much!! I truly appreciate it! Congrats on getting an RS, epic! I’m sure you’ll love it. I finally needed a larger car after 9 years with my Juke Nismo… enjoy the car and drive safe!! Thanks very much for watching and commenting!
Hey thanks so much!! She's still running strong. I hope yours continues to treat you well. They're one of the best cars ever! Thanks a ton for watching!!
I have had my F15 nismo 6MT for 6 years and have had a blast. Had to do some things however. AEM Cold Air, Valve Springs, Motor and Transmission Mounts, Battery and Battery Terminals, Clutch Masters FX250 Flywheel and Clutch, a set of tires and brake pads, replacement center console and shift knob., and sound deadening on the rear subwoofer mount. Besides that it has been a great car to drive.
Sweet!! I also had to have the subwoofer mount addressed.. It used to squeak over every bump in the road and was so annoying! I'm glad your car has treated you well! They're truly one of the best cars ever... Mine is getting its turbo oil feed line replaced right this moment, just in case it fails, so I won't be out a turbo. The car has been nearly perfect for 166,000 miles. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! It'll be nine years with the Juke this fall..
Wow.. takes me back. Had 2 Nismo RS some yrs ago when nobody knew much about them. These cars are RARE nowadays, I come across more Lamborghinis, Ferrari, Porsches, Maserati's than a Nismo RS.
That's awesome, I'm glad you had two of them. I really would like the LSD front diff... Yes, an RS is fairly rare. There are plenty of Nismos roaming the streets, but not many RSs. What a great car, and sure to be a future collectible. Thanks a bunch for tuning in!!!
Hello! It is still going! I think around 180k miles. I sold it to another Juke enthusiast who is taking great care of it! Sad to see it go but glad it's still around this area. Best car ever! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
Oh yeah! I'm glad you got to drive it around in San Diego! I actually sold this car a week ago! Never really planned on it, but a new, larger vehicle was due to enter my life, so the Juke is gone. Luckily, I sold it to someone awesome who appreciates it. I had it almost exactly nine years.. You should hit me up sometime! I was actually trying to get a hold of you the other day, then realized I don't seem to have your number, somehow/social media etc. of yours. I really wanna show you Utah sometime soon!! Life out here is better than ever, and cool things are happening. Let's talk soon!!
Planning to grab one, ideally a nismo RS CVT if i like the paddle shifters else the manual, But in France they're super expensive, around 12k for a 145k kms...
Thank you very much!!! That's so cool! I'll check it out when Doug posts it. Years ago, I tried to get RegularCarReviews to review mine, but it didn't work out. I view Doug as my much-more-successful rival, and I created a SamScore which I think rivals his DougScore. I've lived in San Diego a lot recently, and twice he has passed me on the freeway in his Ford GT!! His success is inspiration to work harder/smarter at car videos. Thank you so much for commenting and tuning in!!!
Hi your the right person to ask….What’s the difference between the nismo and the nismo rs ….? I’m after one in the uk, they are both available in the second hand market however the rs’s tend to be newer, less mileage, sometimes twice as expensive than the nismo…?
Hi there, yep! I hope you're looking for a 6 speed.. The RS is a special beast. Differences: Slightly shorter gears in 1st-3rd. A limited-slip differential in the front, if manual, which is the most important difference, really. The RS has 18 extra HP at 215, and some incredibly aggressive Recaro racing seats. The normal Nismo seats are more comfortable for most people, and happen to be some of the best seats ever put in a car, btw. The brakes are slightly larger on the RS, also, and all years of Nismo RS use the version 1 motor, not the higher-compression v2 version which Nismos 2015+ use. If you can afford the RS, definitely get it. It will hold its value and be highly sought-after compared to the regular Nismo. It is really extreme though, with those seats. If you don't care about the LSD front diff, then a regular Nismo would be great, too. Can't go wrong either way! I'm approaching 9 years with my precious Juke Nismo, and love it more than ever. Thanks a bunch for watching!!
Wow, loved the video and your story with it. I need your advice. Considering buying a used 2016 juke nismo awd cvt (not rs) with 15k miles. Should I, considering your preference for the 6speed manual. Other than the important things you mentioned, what else should I look for when inspecting the vehicle? As well, have you heard/seen recently that nismos 370s/jukes and g37s are being stolen and parted. Stolen remotely too without the fob. Should that be a concern and an avoid for this model.
Hey, thank you!! Those miles are so low, it's probably fine mechanically. I haven't heard about the thefts, but I believe it, sadly. They are rare cars.. Perhaps you could install a hidden kill-switch or something, if you have to leave the car outside! Thanks so much for commenting and watching!!
Don't dare buy a cvt transmission juke! I owe $14k on mine and missing warranties barely. Nobody will flush the cvt unless I sign a waiver. I'm devastated. I loved my Juke.
@@dengarr33 o no. Im sorry. Ya I settled for a 2013 Nissan Altima Coupe !!! It is phenomenal. Had 112,000ish kilometers mileage, however other than some cosmetic paint damage and curb rash, the car is flawless. Leather interior, heated seats, sunroof, bose audio, decent infotainment system for its time, I am beyond grateful. I got a stellar deal too with a 2 year 3rd party warranty.
Oh man, I hope you can find some! Are they literally broken, or is it an electrical issue? I would hope you can get them working somehow.. I can only think of ebay as a good resource for finding a set, assuming yours need total replacement. I hope the car treats you well, and you love it!! Thanks so much for watching, and best of luck with the Juke!!!!
Hello! Cam chain and intake valve carbon buildup can happen on any Juke, sadly, but those worsen with miles. The CVTs are known to fail, yes, but at such low low miles, I bet you'd have a great chance of avoiding that. You should probably just buy it! Thanks for tuning in btw!
Hey, that's awesome! There are tons of Jukes in Utah... Probably because of Tim Dahle Nissan selling so many, back in the day. Any juke is good, and with an aftermarket intake, it'll make awesome turbo sounds. I have snow tires on mine now, finally, and have been commuting to Park City. It's such a beast in the snow now! Maybe I'll see you at a car meet or in the canyons sometime!! Thanks for tuning in!!
@@samlovescars34 yeah currently I have a turbosmart Diverter Valve and then my intake should be here today then after that my plan is to get an exhaust but yeah man this thing is beast in the snow especially with snow tires
Hello! I want to buy a nissan juke nismo and I would appreciate some good advice from a professional. The car is a juke nismo rs 1.6 dig t, 200 hp, cvt transmission from 2013. Thank you very much!
Hi there! They can be reliable cars… but have some weaknesses. The CVT may give you trouble.. or it may not! Also, the timing chain may fail suddenly, which can cost thousands to repair, and can even destroy the engine if left too long. If you have some extra funds for potential repairs, definitely buy it!!! I appreciate you watching and commenting!!
Nice! Hopefully that'll extend its life a bit. My car is still doing fine, and has snow tires for the first time, haha. Thanks so much for watching!!!!
No kidding, but the only damage I caused was to the front bumper region! The rest of it was thanks to other peoples' cars slamming into me, while minding my own business.
