Hey @Tim2Wheels really enjoying the old KLR vids from 4-5 years ago! Sorry to see youre not as active on youtube anymore, thanks for all the great content!
How do you get a wrench in there to tighten the lower bolts that came with the Rod kit? It looks impossible to get to. It would have been useful to see that final tightening step.
Good point LT, There is enough clearance to get to the bolt heads. I like to pivot the bars back, tighten the front bolts till snug, then pivot the bars into the final position and fully tighten the rear bolts. Thanks for the question and for watching. It's good to hear from you again.
LTVoyager.... Your point is right on. After positioning my handlebars back to where I wanted them there was not enough clearance to get my 𝗟 shaped allen wrench in there . I solved the issue by cutting off some an allen wrench's short section enough to just fit in the reduced clearance area to tighten those bolts. I added it to my tool kit for future use if needed.
Funny. I’ve been researching a pile of these videos and NOBODY will show how to torque the bottom Allen bolts that are impossible to access. This Rox design is horrible and my bars are off bike. Lol.
Great install video as per usual. Great tips and captions. As tall rider I'll probably throw on some risers eventually. I do feel like I'm reaching when in the standing position.
I have the same risers. Absolutely love them. Personally I needed to move the bars towards me a bit as I was getting some discomfort as I had to lead forward in the OEM position.
Hi Tim, quick question. How did you tighten down the hex bolts once the handlebars were in position? It didn't look like there was any clearance to get a socket back in there.
Hi Pat, There is enough clearance to tighten if you tighten the front bolts first, then rotate the bars into position and then tighten the rear bolts for the final torque.
@@Tim2Wheels Thanks for getting back to me Tim. I'm actually trying to remove them and I don't have enough clearance on either the front or the rear to access with a hex allen wrench.
Yes, the bars do touch a tank bag(s) but that still hasn't kept me from using various size tank bags and I have never run into a problem where I wasn't able to turn the handlebars as much as I needed to even on my large SW-motech "GS" tank bag. However, on the "GS" bag I don't use the side pockets other than for something very flat/thin.

Tim you're a legend and have been a great service to me and my new KLR. Hope to see you posting again soon. Cheers!
*Congrats looks like your going to reach 10K very soon*
How did you tighten the bottom bolts
You still kicking Tim?

Thanks for the comment. These do help a bunch for taller riders. A small change makes a big difference in the back.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the comment Jose.
This is my 2nd set on a 2nd bike. They work very well for me.
Thanks for watching.
are you still making videos? I ask a few questions in other videos and never got a feedback. just wondering

Miss your videos. Now that you’ve got some miles on your 1250GSA, any positive comments or regrets? Thanks

Are you still with us my friend?
I was wondering the same?? Hope so!! Always wonder when two wheelers go awal👀👀
@@symcardnel1741 who knows, he hasn't been active at all. No videos, no comments. Maybe COVID got him?
But now you can't install a tank bag because the handlebar touches it !!
