@@Aliceintraining Yeah i know a person that edits porn videos, and he said that at the beggining it was hard and you got hard and wanted to jack off, but not even a month in the work he stoped caring, but interestingly the job didn't desesnsitized him to porn, i do think is different to just seeing cut shots than seeing the whole thing done.
As a person working in the print industry right now this is actually fascinating to me that you would make a video basically about the printing + packaging process.
That's actually really cool. The neat thing is seeing the gear that the warehouses use for their logistic purposes. At my previous job, we considered using what Joey was using for a specific section of the plant specifically because it gives you a lot of flexibility to quickly scanning items, and handle said items immediately. In other sections of our plant, we had requirements such as long distance scanning for items that were stacked high or out of reach, specific extreme operational temperatures (like it works while you're in a freezer storage or in an ironwork), and having industrial grade rating durability. (Being able to survive a fall from 6ft.) Their scanner in question doesn't need anything like that, and its a lot easier to handle than having to carry or holster around a larger scanner like the Cipher Lab 9700 or Keyence BT-A700. Also neat to see that they're using new gear with Android vs some of the plants I've seen using scanners that still run on Windows CE.
I honestly didn't think that a lot of that stuff was made in just one place I just honestly thought it was made in different places or just scanned immediately online.😅😅
I've ordered stuff from Toranoana before, it's interesting to see how they would go around collecting it, I had no idea it was such a huge place. T H A N K Y O U.
quick question how do you go on to make a password on AOCS I have been trying for an hour and cant seem to figure out how.an example would be much appreciated
I used to work at a warehouse as a picker and it was a good job. I'd just listen to podcasts and music all day, and do exactly what joey did here. This was cool to see.
when I worked at fedex ground, we used something like that for loading packages to trailers/trucks so that then they could automatically print out driver manifests.
Minor minor correction at 1:17 That's a blast sealer. It melts the plastic sheets together, then blasts the now sealed package with heat so that it expands, then it shrinks tight all on its own. I did repairs on one, and boy are they a pain
It's certainly where a lot of it is packaged and shipped. (The place is even called a logistics center.) He'd have to go to a printing company to see where the stuff actually comes off the presses.
2 things, as someone works in a factory, The floor looks so absurdly clean... I am jealous. There is a lot of Dojins but dojins are really small, so storage area is on the small side as well. I had visited BASF on a work related visit, the sheer size of the place made me feel like a pebble
Could prob make a mini series of you picking and reacting/rating people's orders. Have it as an option on the site, plus it's cool to see where people are ordering from.
I've done order picking at a produce warehouse before, so this was pretty interesting to see; the part (aside from what was possibly looked at in regards to cultured materials LOL) that interested me the most was at the end of the main video though... my main job is as a labourer in the film industry so we often have to use those "elevators" (technically usually called scissor lifts) but I didn't expect to see Joey riding in one here although he's right in that they are dangerous enough to need a helmet and harness less so for the up and down motion and more for the driving around bits because they're REALLY touchy to the point at which one small motion on the control stick can make the whole machine do a big jerking movement that could potentially throw you out of the machine if you're not strapped in.
I always love watching behind doors of these productions! It’s an AMSR for me. I love this! I’ve been watching tons of behind doors of production such as books, materials, etc
Man, as an IT consultant, their warehouse management system must be awesome. There's just so many items. I'm also interested how frequently they add a new item, like new stories or new authors/artists.
This makes my brain happy XD I studied logistics in uni and used to work for a 3rd party logistics company so seeing a warehouse and how things are picked and organised is a little nostalgic haha
I've been working at warehouses for 15 years. My first one had no storage-adress system. With 7000 positions in the database. It was an enormous pain to remember where everything is. Also training new employes took ages.
A processing center like this is interesting to see, but what I'd love to see would be an actual printing facility where the books are made. Great video nevertheless - I've never ordered from Toranoana but I have from CDJapan so I assume their system is similar.
In all honesty, if he filmed a vid on the printing process then we’d be looking at a blurry mess of a video. It’d be like trying to read with your glasses foggy af.
This is just giving me flashbacks to when I worked in retail. Managing what was stored in tbe backroom was an art that if someone fucked with it, it really pissed me off lol. Doing with pen and paper would have been super annoying, but doable. I bet what they probably did was keep track of everything taken out and added by having a paper form of some kind on each shelf, but yeah.. remembering where something was put was probably how you knew the general are of something. The store I worked in used to be pretty old school so we kinda had something similar but we eventually got a computer system to track everything. But if someone didn't input it correctly, it screwed it up. Our system didn't look as nice, but it worked.
Am I the only one who thought of the mobile screen attached to his arm is similar to the infinity gauntlet ? Collecting Doujins like infinity stones. Also love how the device tells : "Thank you" fellow man of culture.
I expected Joey to give an example of what that person's taste in doujin was based on the title alone, then let us know in the editing how close he was guessing
Interesting fact; before the wrist mounted scanners, staff did not have to remember locations from the name like joey suggests. They would instead be given a piece of paper for the order with the locations and SKU/item numbers of each item to pick.
Hey Joey, there's an article that Sora News 24 made called "Manga artist wants Japanese teachers to feel, for two seconds, how dumb their girls' dress code is" and thought you might like it since you like manga. Feel free to react to this article if you want.
11:14 cant believe out of all the doujinshi joey can pick up, he picked up the one i recognized and already read 😅 pretty sure it not an original tho, that a fgo doujin
I work in a beer distributing warehouse. I have worked with these scanners before and similar business without the scanners(currently the one I work for now doesn't use these yet). Reading off the sheet for the locations of the products is far worse to look at. At times you are reading the next product line than the current one you are on. Even reading the next line's amount wrong. The current amount of the product needed says 1 but you grabbed 2 because you read the next line. and also picking the products next to another product or flavor is wrong. Scanners just make where none of this should happen. Scanners make it so clear what you are needing to grab for both amount and product. This kind of job for many such as myself would already be comfortable working here. Working with these products would be much better than mostly beer haha. I would be curious to see more~ Thank you for showing this video~!
4:45 lmao I used to work at a small bookstore, and I could easily find specific books on the shelves. After all, I was the one who put most of the books *on* the shelf in the first place. Fuuuuck. I miss that place. RIP The Other Change of Hobbit.
