E30 Welding And Refreshing Diff

This 2.93 open diff that came out of the coupe looked like it was pulled out of the bottom of the ocean so i thought a refresh video would be cool. Hope you guys enjoy!

Yo im curious, why did you have to weld that piece in?? Was the diff missing something?

it's so that rear wheels turn at the same rate. it helps with breaking the traction to drift.

it’s just for added structural support, most of the time, you can get by with just welding the spider gears together, but it’s recommended to weld in a plate like he did here :)

Are you still daily driving on this differential? Is it okay to drive with a welded diff?

How is it now that the car is driving? Read alot of people have noise issues after welding the diff up.

it’s brutal tbh. every time i drive it makes my trans clank so much. i ordered an lsd rebuild kit to get rid of the welded. definitely sick for drifting though
