Bro should monetize his video, very much deserved. Everything is licensed and credited correctly and he deserves all the success that comes with it. Thank you for blessing us with this tribute, OWL will always be the one thing that makes me cry and I love it so much
OWL got me started in esports. It got me into Obsing. It taught me lessons I'll never forget. OWL will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for this, and thank you all for everything.
oh my god this was made by an independant group. this is one of the most impressive videos i have ever seen, owl was a component of the many things i grew up alongside, amazing and thank you
In 2018, the Overwatch League helped me fall in love with esports. In 2021, it inspired me to start casting. In 2023, it left. My heart is broken, but I wouldn't trade the nights I stayed up for APAC matches, the Map 7 heartbreaks, or the painful reverse sweeps for anything. OWL made me whole again after I lost a large part of myself, as corny as it sounds, and I'm delighted to have experienced this era of Overwatch esports. Whatever comes next, I'll be there. Watching, casting, laughing, cheering, crying, whatever. Thank you for this video. ❤
Honestly feels near ESPN/NFL films quality. This is easily one of my all time favourite films I've watched on RUclips. The editing is great, but some of the shot compositions were even better. There was one moment of Primal Rage Winston flying around that you did in a single shot, no cuts, that was really awesome. Fantastic work!
"your masters of mischief now stand as monarchs, kings for all time" is truly beautiful commentating. OWL got me into esports as, excluding halo, I never been deeply into a game with such an alive professional competitive environment. And that instantly drove me to the love of good casting talent, even now I have favorites I tune in to hear on valorant (spoilers: its Bren and Sideshow who I was introduced to in OWL!). OWL truly had an enjoyable team of knowledgeable casters that clearly loved the game even more than I did, seeing as I havent played or kept up in months. That's a line that will absolutely stick. I hope the entire team has their talent recognized in every game they decide to branch out to or return to
I absolutely LOVE what Uber brought to OWL. I had yet to re-watch the final moments of OWL 2023, and hearing that line was incredible. Just in case you didn't know, the Florida Mayhem were one of the original 12 teams in OWL and their OG roster included many players from the Miami-based organization Misfits Gaming including CWoosH, Logix, Manneten, TviQ, Zebbosai, Zuppeh, as well as coach Mineral and our beloved Reinforce. "Your masters of mischief now stand as Monarchs" is just Uber's beautiful multi-level wordplay at work enhanced with alliteration. "kings of all time" continues playing on the royalty wordplay while acknowledging the yet to be officially revealed fact that the Florida Mayhem will forever bear the final crown of the Overwatch League. Much love to OWL's talent team, and love the shoutout to BrenShow. Freaking Legends.
As a from the start watching every good and crap game Outlaws fan, I was so happy with how it ended. Throwing the squad back in to do their best comp and end it on the best note possible. N regrets. I'm eternally sad that it's over. Overwatch League definitely changed my life in notable significant ways. Thanks y'all
Thank you for creating this. The painstaking dedication it took isn't lost. Watching the OWL was a central part of my life, from reserving tickets in Dec 2017 to go see Stage 1 live in Burbank on through the final finals. OWL was the only event I've ever hosted a watch party for. My anecdotes could go on, it will suffice to say having a passionate production like this to look back at is very special. I haven't had a good cry for almost 10 months, this was what finally let me drop the wall.
Not only the phenomenal 6 years of owl, But the 7 years ive been playing the game, Will forever be a cherished memory in my life, What a truly splendid ending to owl, And what an amazing video to watch.
I've seen some of your stuff on Twitter before. You can tell you put your heart and soul into these videos. I was tearing up all the way through, and Soe's speech killed me. I love it. What a fucking video
I knew coming into this I'd cry. I held off until Soe's final speech. The tears came right back, just as they did on that day. I love(d) OWL. Despite it's flaws, it brought me lasting friendships, amazing memories, travel, and experiences. I sincerely hope this isn't the end of Overwatch Esports, even if it's under a different flag and banner. If it is, though, thank you. To everyone. The people working on it, the casters, the behind the scenes, the social media crew, the players, all of you. I've been in my fair share of communities in the gaming space. None felt more like a family than this to me. Even with bitter rivalries, we all got behind a central goal. Long live, The Overwatch League.
Thank you for putting together such a beautifully crafted piece that I can always look back to, cherish, and cry to when I think about all OWL has given to me. OWL filled me life and a love for esports. OWL gave my life direction, a dream, and a dream fulfilled by being a part of the production team. These years, I will never forget. Not ever.
I was fortunate enough to be able to make it to the last Grand Finals, and I cannot find words to describe the energy in the arena when Hangzhou pulled off those two reverse sweeps. Those two series are without a doubt some of the most exhilarating professional Overwatch I have ever watched. Legday's call had every hair on my body standing up with the chills it gave me 3:46
Thank you for making this. I hope OWL is remembered for its amazing moments & the incredibly talented team behind it, so many memorable moments. ❤❤First one that comes to mind... season 1 quarterfinals Glads vs Spitfire on King's Row, the "merry go round" play. so good☺
OWL was unique. It has been a big part of my life for years, even attended the 2019 Grand Finals. It was incredible to be there in person, to feel the energy in the arena. Thank you for this video outro, it’s as beautiful as the beautiful thing we’ve lost. 😢
OWL got me back into esports after the Smash Pro scene Witch Trials and it was an honor to watch it and thanks to them i will watch other esports one of the best esport scene and excited to see what happens to it thank you OWL Shanghai and all for it
Thank you for your video. OWL has been a vivid and colorful part of my life. Even during my senior year in high school in China, I continued to watch the league. This year was both outstanding and the most regretful for the Chengdu Hunters. I’ve often fantasized about the Hangzhou Spark winning the championship. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Fusion is my favorite team. Thanks to Carpe, Poko, Zest, Eqo, Fury, MN3, Alarm for everything they’ve contributed to Philadelphia. Forever cherishing Alarm
An absolutely fitting frag movie to put an end to one of the most unique times in esports history. Soe's monologue broke my heart all over again, and having supported OWL and Dallas from the start, I couldn't think of a better way to close the circle. This is worth preserving, thank you to everyone who helped put this together.
I’ll never forget the memories I made with OWL. To everyone who’s watching on the OWLcord, you guys mean everything to me and I am so grateful to be apart of this community. (I’m Shaundushaun btw) Thank you everyone!
Rydarus the undefeated champion of all time in esports vids. Even if i didn't watch this season, you capture the magic and the wonder that got me into esports in the first place. thank you Rydarus, for everything. and Goodbye Overwatch. May we see the OW esports star shine once more in the future.
This has got to be the BEST piece of Overwatch League content on the internet. Rydarus, you are amazing. Thank you for making this legendary memoir to OWL!
As one of the comments posted here, OWL is also what hooked me into eSports. I started following OWL religiously during Season 2 after seeing Guxue do nasty things on Winston and followed him to Hangzhou Spark. Seeing them being cemented on making history on OWL and being showcased here as well beautifully really made me teared up. Then Soe's speech wrecked me. What a beautiful send-off to OWL. Thank you very much for this Christmas gift.
No matter how many times I hear Soe's speech in a tribute video, I end up in tears to it. But your editing, after that masterclass of a video as well, just outstanding stuff.
I loved to see my favorite players compete and got sad when Uprising got eliminated, seing my favorite players compete for the last time was worth it tho
I dont know why but overwatch league stuff always makes me cry, I think its the fact that ive been here since season one and this league was been my life blood for so long. Ive been religiously following this league for so long and seeing it come to an end is so bittersweet. All the memories of everything that has happened is what makes me cry the most, reliving the past and seeing everything just always gets to me. thank you, thank you so much for this. #ShanghaiDragons until the end
A lot of love was put into this and it shows. As an old player I’ve hit all the competitive high watermarks. Content like this is what made me want to become more competitive in the first place. I’m sure you will inspire many more with this
Damn, man. Every single time I see that clip of Soe with teary eyes, I just instantly cave and have eyes to match. Insanely well put together this video was, by the way.
Been a fan of the league since day 1. This really hit hard. The league itself may be over, but I'm just happy I was able to witness the entire 6 year journey. Hopefully we get to see the players, talent, and fans we all know and love with whatever comes next.
Everything about this hits. OWL was my entry and spark for getting into the games industry, so I owe a lot to it! Thank you for this and keep being amazing!
I love this so much. 2023 grand finals was a weekend of some truly amazing Overwatch gameplay. I'm gonna miss these teams, players, the commentators/desk so so much.
Watching all the way from season 1, OWL was my first esport and man this makes me feel things. Thank you for all your incredible work, this is truly amazing as a goodbye.
Absolutely loved this vid, my only complaint is that the Houston Outlaws were barely shown despite being Grand Finals runners up and beating every team they played not named the Florida Mayhem, I just thought they should have had a little more screen time (I'm a Viol2t simp). This video is still amazing, great work by everyone involved! Much love fellow die hard OWL enjoyers
@@RYDARUShaha that's a good point, they didn't really have any close games tbh, they either got rolled 3-1 or 4-0 by the Mayhem or they destroyed every other team they played 3-0, so I didn't really consider that and how those games would be boring for the video. Also I hope you don't think I didn't like the video, it's absolutely brilliant - feels like the perfect final send off for OWL 😢
Holy crap that was brilliant. I've followed the league for years and finally made it to my first event in Toronto and I'm glad this video exists to immortalize the grand experience it was. Truly amazing, thank you.
Masterpiece, legit brought me to tears. Absolutely breath-taking work from you and everyone else who worked on this video, thank ya'll for making this and all the hard work you put into OW/OWL!! also love that you included "greetings" and the wilhelm lmfaoooooo, truly cinematic work!!
This is an amazing tribute to the amazing esports experiment that was Overwatch League. I really think if COVID had not come along when it did, we might have seen this venture be such a huge success due to locals having a chance to connect with their teams in the massive way that was planned. 😢
I started playing overwatch when ow2 came out so I was only really here for the last one, but the passion and how much it meant to everyone is so infectious. thanks for this video.
The overwatch league was definitely something to remember I shall never forget the memories and all the things that happened in the league. Wish it didn’t have to end but everything does have to end sometime. Wish my overwatch team didn’t turn to shit but once and outlaw always an outlaw
I may have only gotten into this two years ago, but it’s been an incredible journey watching the players grow. And to an amazing cast along with those in production thank you all
This was a truly phenomenal send off to the Overwatch League and I don't think anyone could ask for better. Thank you for all your hard work over the years Rydarus and for this amazing video
Beautiful send off, thank you. It's crazy to me that a league that inspired so much love in its fans that you were willing to not just put in your time and expertise but your own money to do it justice was not able to support work like this in an official capacity. But I guess it really has been the fans and those on the ground that made it what it is, and I really hope that Overwatch esports continues on with the support of such enthusiastic, talented people.
Bro should monetize his video, very much deserved. Everything is licensed and credited correctly and he deserves all the success that comes with it. Thank you for blessing us with this tribute, OWL will always be the one thing that makes me cry and I love it so much
BEAUTIFUL
This is my life, and your work brings it a humanity that simply watching never could. To watch this is to live what we lived.

We may debate the GOAT of Overwatch but there is no debate that Rydarus is the GOAT of edits. Chills.
No better person to make a video like this. What a beautiful send-off.
this is a work of art.
i really should stop watching Soe's sendoff speech, it gets me every damn time.

Perhaps one day. There was never enough time with everything else I had to do to do this for Blizzard in 2022, but maybe one day.
This was everything. Thank you for this.
GOATED as always!!! Hopefully with whatever comes next, you get the opportunity to make more of these!
I wept at this beautiful tribute. This community is so lucky to have/have had you all.
