- Come travel with me on board the longest flight in the world on Singapore Airlines from Singapore to JFK Airport in New York City! This flight is scheduled for over 18½ hours but we'll make pretty good time on this flight that will cover over 10,000 miles.
Singapore Airlines operates a special A350ULR or Ultra Long Range aircraft designed to achieve the flight time required for this route. This aircraft operates only 2 classes of service - business class and premium economy. I originally booked premium economy but as you'll see I was offered an upgrade I couldn't pass up when I checked in.

I flew with Singapore Airlines for the first time a few weeks ago (London to Bangkok) on my birthday in premium economy. Something on their system must have alerted the crew that it was my birthday and shortly before we descended into Singapore they presented me with a card, a free dessert and a glass of champagne. It was totally unexpected but such a pleasant surprise. I will definitely fly with them again.

@@HDjeff I was upgraded to first class from business on my birthday as well years back on CX upon check in when ground crew noticed it was my birthday and immediately asked for approval to upgrade me!

Absolutely! It seems that for a long time SQ has been a step ahead of everyone else.
But it's awful my modern standards. A380 seat is better. Seats on Etihad, Qatar are better. Should've had ore competitive seats from a world class airlines on a brand new plain

I traveled in Singapore to JFK via Frankfurt Business class that was A380 almost 23 hrs flying time . while returning JFK to singapore Business class its a direct worlds longest flight one of the best journey i had..

As for pajamas, I was issued a pair in business class on two flights on Qatar Air last month. I was disappointed that Singapore does not provide them, and also that they don't have a paper menu.

I think the wider older seat that you showed was from Norwegian airlines but it does look similar
That was an SQ A380 that was wet leased for Norwegian from Hi-fly, a charter company that no longer has that A380. But they never changed the seating, so that’s the old SQ business and they still had the old SQ suites too which are in my first video. Hi-fly now does charters to Antarctica on an A340 which looks pretty amazing!
If you miss Singapore food, you can go the urban hawker in Manhattan. Singapore foodcourt and all by Singaporean foodstalls. Good reviews.

@@HDjeff you can find your favourite Singapore signature dishes there though the price is like x2 or x3 of what you can get in Singapore. But it's in Manhattan. Do a review if you are going there next time :)

That’s terrible! Watch for promotions from the airlines on flight deals, but most of my trips in premium cabins are booked with points.

Thank you for letting me know, I had no idea they were different! I had previously visited the Private Room with my wife in 2019 but I believe that’s since been refreshed as well.
@@HDjeff The names can be confusing to those who aren't too familiar with the SQ product. The Krisflyer lounge is for frequent flyers and Star Alliance Gold passengers travelling in economy class. All First and Business class passengers get access to the lounge that has better F&B - Silver Kris Lounge.

I’ve done it in premium economy a few times too, and that wasn’t terrible either!
I still get pajamas on long haul EVA air flights. I believe CA China Airlines (Taiwan) also provides pajamas for business class
I love EVA and would love to get back to Taipei again soon! Even some US airlines like United provide pajamas on their longest routes, luckily I had some from my previous flight in first.

That’s awesome, this was late May. I made 5 videos on the same trip so it took a while to edit them all!
If an airline has a nonstop of 10 hours or more, they should be required by law to outfit seats with liedown or reclining capability, and more legroom.
How some airlines still sell economy tickets for these insanely long flights is just beyond greedy and potentially harmful to passengers.
I understand your view but it’s considerably more expensive and many people could no longer afford to travel if that were the case. Qantas will most likely be selling economy on their new even longer flights but Singapore Airlines does not on these flights, only premium economy & business.

Yes, that is correct. It had previously been offered to me at $1800US going the other way from Newark to Singapore.
Oops sorry you did mention that you booked one way on premium econ so obviously it's one way upgrade. That mean in total you spent less than SGD3100 for business class. That is really worth! Thanks for sharing. 👍🙏
Wow - what a journey! I flew last week in Etihad's Business product (vlog coming soon on my channel!) and it was absolutely fantastic. I had a 15 hour flight and a 7.5 hour flight, and they were absolutely easy in such comfort!
Amazing, I've yet to fly with Etihad - I'll keep an eye out for it!
Maybe, Singapore Airlines can break that record with a nonstop flight to and from the IAD Airport near DC.
Oh that would be fun, I did the great circle mapper and it’s definitely a bit longer. I’ve taken a lot of flights from IAD, been through a couple times this year.

Different terminal but it’s much better than the Virgin Clubhouse they partner with there.

Are masks still required...I'm taking this flight from Phuket to San Francisco in a few days, also in business class 🤔 And no PJs in long-haul international...has this always been the case with SQ...every other airline I've flow gives them to premium class passengers (Emirates, EVA).
No more masks and I could be wrong but I believe SQ has only offered PJs in first class, at least not in recent years.

The A350 feels quieter than the 777.

Flying this next year! How strict were the FAs about enforcing mask wearing? Would take away from the experience for me significantly if their insistent you wear it while sleeping on this ultra long flight?
They weren’t strict at all, but either way I hope you won’t have to worry about that next year!

This is crap becos you are flying business class! As a local I know for a fact after many years of flying becos since the pandemic she has cut off entirely the salads and cheeses biscuits for all economy class flights and worse still below 4 hrs flight time it's just a box meal! No more silver ware except on longer flights in economy... The majority of us fly economy... and it's not the best business class of its kind. Qatar suites are a lot better! And as for our service I won't deny it's one of the best but then again it's business class it's a given ... Try economy since borders opened it's crappy these days! Hot towels are gone... menus are gone... 4 hrs flights just wooden cutlery! It's a lot better in the past... It's def NOT the best! You are just lucky you have not had bad service with SQ or to be fair less than first class service. It's crap and I prefer flying other asian carriers such as EVA Thai Korean and even the new starlux!
I’ll try them in economy at some point and give an honest review as always. I just reviewed them in first as well, previous video. I hope your experiences are better in the future! ✌️

It's just that SQ has really ticked lot of us locals becos during the pandemic it's the public's tax dollars that kept her afloat and what does she do to us once they for their wings back? They increase fares like you won't believe and never once thanked us! I had 5 trips so far since last June and only once with SQ and boy she was so exp plus compared to KLM economy for economy it was a complete joke! Once again apologies and I wish you safe travels!

In January, I’ll be on what I think might be the world’s second or third longest flight- LAX to Singapore. This will be my first lie flat flight ever. Are pajamas (of which I don’t own any) or perhaps T-shirts and gym shorts acceptable? Also, it doesn’t look like you are truly lie flat. Is that just because you are filming?
You don’t have to be fancy on a long flight like this, they hand out pajamas in first class on SQ but not in business. It’s definitely fully flat, have a great flight!
