- The Fender Mustang Micro features 12 amps that fit in the palm of your hand! Honestly I love it, and this video is not sponsored in any way.
You no longer need to bring an amp or even a computer-based amp sim to plug in and play anywhere you want.
For $99, the Fender Mustang Micro is one of the best guitar accessories I've ever purchased. Развлечения
The guitar store suggestion is brilliant!
THIS.
I just did it 2 days ago. I took it with me along with small earphones and also a clamp tuner. I showed them to the workers to let them know these things are mine. Every guitar needed tuning. I used only two Amps (clean and overdrive) to compare every telecaster they had. It really makes a big difference when the guitars are perfectly tuned and you use the same amps over and over. Don't forget the tuner on the guitar when you put it back. I will never go to the guitar store without this micro amp and a tuner. Also, I'm taking them to guitar shows as well. Works fantastic for comparing guitars. Just use the same settings.
Another cool thing, to me, is that the micro can be used the same as a master volume and the guitar volume works like a gain control. Anyone who likes that trick of being able to sweep from clean to dirty from the guitar volume alone, the micro can do it. The FBE-100 or BassBreaker on clean have an incredible sound. Then just turn up the guitar for fuzz city!
These should be mandatory in guitar shops!
haha, I thought of the same thing actually, but Chicago Music Exchange has sound proof rooms for people to play through amps, so I almost forgot what it's like going in to a GC or SA or any other guitar store for that matter :)
I have one since a few months ago and it is amazing, so handy when you want to play outdoors or while travelling. Regardless that it doesn’t have a gain control, you have plenty of choices to get the sound you are after.
@4:32 The legendary lick of Guitar Movies.
Glad you're back. Really cool about this device as I had my eye on it too. Thanks for the vid. Keep on keeping on!
Saw this before it was released somewhere online. Glad you came thru with a review!
Great to see you are back. Classy as always!
Mate I absolutely love your RUclips style mate
Please keep making these videos as they are so honest and down to earth ..... a real breath of fresh air in a RUclips world that’s becoming more of a an advertorial based platform than informative and entertaining but you have found a great niche amongst this and it’s bloody brilliant
Cheers mate !
Thanks! Appreciate it
Looks good. Great to see you back!
Love it too! It's way more easy to revisit my guitar lines before our set. Plus, i can practice anywhere I want without disturbing anyone. Thank you, Fender!
Great video, cinematic and straight to the point!
Keep it up 👍🏽
I have it, and love it. It removes any barriers (physical or laziness) to playing for me. I also use it to stream backing tracks, and even just a metronome, into my headphones while playing.
It encourages me to play my guitars more, which is absolutely worth $99 USD.
Totally agree!
Now $120
This is a great point. I’ve been playing guitar every night any minute I can get as it’s so simple to use and with backing tracks it’s so much fun noodling away. Usually I can’t be arsed setting my gear up as I play in bands so it stays packed up till next gig (usually every weekend) and I just play acoustic at home. Now I’m electric every night. So good.
Grabbing one tomorrow 😊
Just bought this a few hours ago and its incredible for sure.
I just got mine this week. BRILLIANT!
Excellent review dude. Thanks for posting!
I just got one of these and can't wait to try it out.
That's a gorgeous Tele btw.
That micro amp is definitely a game changer. I have been a fan of micro amps like vox...etc, but this fender mustang micro is fantastic !!
I got this yesterday and will try it on the quiet gigs I do, such as service clubs like VFW etc, and my Senior events. I'm using it with a Headrush powered cab
Great review. Very helpful. Now I am going to buy one!
Just bought mine yesterday. Love it.
Bought this a couple weeks ago. And I love it. Came with a small card with the same color guide as the box so you can throw away the box. Highly recommended.
I still use mine nearly every day. Love it.
I got one a week ago ,great little practice tool
Can't wait for mine to come. Pretty excited to try it.
Just got mine. Great review!
Best $99 I've spent on gear!
Welcome back! And brilliant idea using at a guitar shop, wish everyone would.
Thanks!
Thanks for this. Got me intrigued. 👍🏽
Great video! Just got mine today, but I was curious to see what others use it for. I got two great ideas from this video. 1- Playing by a river... and 2- trying guitars in a music shop without annoying anyone and being able to really compare guitars with the same settings. Thanks!
good idea!
Extremely helpful review. Thank you very much.
That clean Twin setting sounds really good for what it is. I do a lot of headphone playing because I’m rich enough to have guitars but too poor to own an isolated studio. I’ve been using an old Katana 50.
This Mustang Micro will bring your headphone 🎧 sessions to a new level. It to so easy to jam with backing tracks with my smartphone via Bluetooth. Get one you'll love it!
Thanks for the video. When I can play loud(er) I play through my Marshall DSL 15w combo . When I want/need to play quiet, I play through my Vox Pathfinder 10w with headphones on. I like using the different amps for different purposes because I get a variety in my tone. However, no matter how loud I play with these damn headphones on I am unable to piss off my neighbors! 🎸
Nice , great review ! Thank you
Wow I didn’t know I could also use it as an out with the USBC to my computer for recording. Sick!
Great idea to use this to test guitars
Great video, as always.
Great review! Convinced me to order one 🙈😂👍
Excellent - need to grab one !!!
Ordered it yesterday. It takes two month to deliver. (Spain, where I live) . But, sure this new toy deserves the long waiting period .
Have something similar, the Boss Pocket GT. Connects to guitar by a normal guitar cable. Ordered one of these as it’s more portable though less overall amp presets. Love these for practice. Hoping the RUclips blue tooth link works for backing tracks. The Boss Pocket GT is supposed to do that as well but it doesn’t work the way it should and the work around is a hassle.
Been curious about this for a while. I keep my amp in my garage where I can play it loud and not bother people. Sometimes I hate going there because it's cold as hell and I hate playing wearing a sweater so I just stay indoors and play unplugged or acoustic. Might try it out.
+1 to the guitar store idea. Super!
Vox has been making similar headphone amps and they are also fantastic. They're cheaper but have less bells and whistles (no Bluetooth, USBC out etc). I also love the pick up and play versatility they give. Sometimes you don't want to deal with pedals, cables, amps etc.)
I have had both the AC 30 Vox Amplug and the second version with more effects and the swivel plug, they aren’t at the level of sound quality of the Fender, I was shocked by how good these sound in comparison. The stereo delay effects and the different types of tremolo and reverb are much more friendly to long term practicing with headphones, whereas the Amplugs got tiring to listen to very quickly for me. The Bluetooth in for playing along or listening to instructional videos really helps for portability as you aren’t tied by a cable to your phone or tablet. so you can walk away or turn while wearing your guitar without pulling on an aux cable.
Thanks man great review I already bought mine like an hour ago I just wanted to watch a video about it so I can feel happy about my purchase while I eat lunch. But this was a great video by the way apparently watching you, you are able to record at the same time as you have your headphones plugged in that is pretty cool? .... Bubble Guppies? Lmao I have a 2 month old son so I guess I'm going to be looking forward to all those crazy little things. Cheers🤙🏽
Yes, you can record while listening through headphones at the same time. It works great. Congrats on your son!
I cut out that chart and keep it in my guitar case. I have this, a fender gtx 100 and a Bose S1 Pro and I play the mustang micro 95% of the time. My acoustic also sounds great using it. Friggin love it and it’s been 3 years or so
Very cool and creative. That looks like Lake Victoria up in Amesbury. Used to go fishing and swimming there.
It's Lake Saltonstall, right next to Winnekenni/Kenoza lake in Haverhill.
@@guitarmovies Ok......that sounds right. I used to go there too once in a while so I guess I got them confused. Thanks. I remember walking alone the paths during the Fall. The trees were so pretty. I'll bet the trees are starting to turn. I miss it !
Production quality!!
Brilliant video. Thanks. My only wish was just a few cycles of the “mod” button. I’m buying one regardless
The fact you can still use it to plug in your amp is amazing 😭😭 I just connnected a aux chord and connecter jack into it and BOOM it worked 😭 no more pedals and endless chords on the ground
*3:40
I have one of these… and I didn’t think of that. Awesome idea man.
i ordered this and i am so excited!
Awesome! Please give us a quick feedback when you get a chance. Does it interface easily w/ laptop?
@@TheGreatGadfly currently on back order from sweet water, im not surprised! ill get it in early may and i’ll try it out on my computer and let you know how it compares to my plug ins that i use in logic pro.
@@miniharez good people over there. Giving IN a good name.
You can also run this through an amplifier with a 1/8 in cable through an MP3 / Line In output
Hi :) amazing review !!!you can use it with a speaker like "Bose soundlink" with an aux jack 3,5mm ???thanks man
GOT MINE TODAY!!!! LOVE IT! BLOWS MY VOX AWAY!!!!.
been using it since day 1!!!! love it! and I don't have to keep replacing expensive batteries all the time it last longer than the Duracell's been playing for several hours! awesome product.
Imagine this device 20 or 40 years ago Like Damn !
Good to see a review of the Micro, there's not many out there. I'm another fan of the Vox Amplug (Classic Rock), it's good enough but is just one amp. So when this Micro came along I ordered one right away, still waiting. I wonder how the P-90s sound through it. I have a P-Rail curious how it sounds on the Fender amps.
I have a guitar with a Lollar P-90 and it sounds awesome through the Micro.
great video!
Just bought a Squire Sonic Mustang and this Fender Micro Mustang plugin amp thing for my 10 year old daughter to learn guitar on. Less than £250 for all of it which seems crazy value. If she doesn't end up using it then I certainly will!
Happy owner here! it's just amazing.
How are you doing this? Are there headphones and aux out at the same time? Or are you using a splitter?
I think one big thing fender didn't get about making a pocket device like this is USB audio out so playing output from a mobile DAW through it while recording would be possible. The similar NUX and Mooer devices can, and the NUX can reamp. Those devices have their own issues but they both beat the fender micro for mobile multitrack recording even if they don't sound as good.
This is a great to have. Keep on guitar case. Okay anywhere anytime. Also under 200 beaks?
Get on it!
Sounds a lot better than those Vox amplug s that I’ve had so many of
Good point about taking it to test new guitars with a fixed aural reference point!
The usb cable has a reversible small end plug, that's 18" long, and you can't find a longer cable , so get a 1/4" guitar cable 5 or 6 foot long, and a mono cable adapter to plug into one cable end, and the Mustang Micro in the other end of the adapter, then plug the other cable end into the guitar, hope this all makes sense. You can have the micro in front of you and see it better for operation and learn the color combos and remember your favorites. The main thing is a 1and a half foot usb cable, is now 5 plus feet long, you can relax and play and record way easier, hope this helps GLTA....
The modulated reverb really is ridiculous! That's my favorite effect as well.
With headphones on, it makes you lose track of time to be honest.
Shoegaze mode activated
Yes!!! This thing is amazing!! Specially because is bluetooth!!
I have it; it is amazing
The black stripes white pickguard on the Tele looks so good... did you design it yourself? btw very well made review
Thank you. No, I didn't design it. It's a Decoboom pickguard, and they have a ton of great designs.
I have the fender micro amp sounds awesome
Okay , I need this know
I just really can’t get into it, though I’ve tried. I think on vacation it will be perfect. I can’t believe they didn’t add gain stages to each amp, and the short cable is dumb.
But, it plugs straight in to a macbook and that makes recording fun. I don’t think it sounds great though. Good for getting down ideas.
Cool 😎 i’m going to buy an electric guitar eventually I’m going to buy one of those two that’s pretty cool that way I don’t have to drag her an amplifier around with me most of the guitars I have an hour all acoustics but that will work great I like the video thanks 🎸😎👍🏼👍🏼
I really like your tele
Me too!
When you BT your phone backing track through and jam with it, can you >still< record (tracks and guitar with effects) to the DAW?
I wonder if I can use the Mustang Micro for online live lessons, through my laptop (windows 10).
I need to ear what I'm playing through my headset without latency and my teacher should be able to ear me playing and speaking.
Is it possible? What I need to do?
Thanks for your help
Cool decoboom pickguard
Does this work with the cup style jacks that are on some Teles?
Great review...this has sold me on getting one. Fender should pay you a 'finders fee'..... Your video production value is really great too man [I'm in the biz], really well done, keep up the good work. To Fender: I'm not color blind, but the "color coded" feature on the box and unit...may not work for colorblind folk? Just a thought.
Thanks!
Do you have any issues with 60 cycle hum? If so, how do you deal with it?
Ty bud
Could this be plugged into an adapter which is plugged straight into my phone for live streaming ?
Can you connect this thing before an amp? So that we get the effects from this little thing and the big sound of the amp?
Is it possible to play a song from your phone via device to headphones and still use this micro amp?
Last 3 Samsung phones I had came w/ USB C lol, cool vid though. I've got the Vox AC version of this from a few years ago- nice little gadget.
It's been awhile since I was slumming with Android 😂 I actually like the Samsung phones a lot more, but I use Macs and Air Drop is life so begrudgingly stick with iPhones.
You can also just plug this onto any speaker with a 9mm input and can start playing so everyone can hear too.
So would I be able to connect to wireless/ Bluetooth speakers through mini jack ?
So what Bluetooth devices are able to connect to it? Are wired headphones required instead of Bluetooth ones? Thinking about buying.
Is there a way to use a Mustang Micro for adding reverb to an old tube amp that doesn't have reverb ?
If it's acting as interface. Can I use it with amplitube 5 effects and output sound via external DAC -> amplifier -> speakers ?
Does it have to be through headphones or does it play aloud from the phone?
I get mine Thursday
Do you need a separate speaker? Or is the sound coming out if it.
Compared ro the valeton mixro amp ? At 1/3rd rhe peice or less?
How are you recording with it ?
How did you record it on audio/video?
4:15 starts to play😊
Even lithium, battery would need a replacement in abt 3 years, is there such option ?
How does this compare to the Vox Amplug2 micro amps?
What Headphone goes well with this Amp?
Can it support Bluetooth Headphone?
Are you able to use it without the headphones?
