This is an amazing product. Just picked one up. The store owner said, “It’s twice the price of its competitors but they sell out and nobody returns them..”
The demo was awesome, the variety of sounds this device has, and the ability to play with backing tracks make it a screaming deal. The musical dexterity and variety of styles is just outstanding. We just witnessed a true guitar artist!
What a great review. I just got mine for Father’s Day. I agree with your review 100%; it’s an awesome device. My only complaint, I am colorblind; the color chart does nothing for me. When I saw descriptions like magenta, spring green and raspberry, I knew I was in trouble. Lol. I will just have to count down from clear to get my amp settings.
Fender is killing it with their entry-level gear. The Mustang amps are fantastic value and really useful for what they are, the new Squiers are just ridiculously awesome for the money (the Contemporary lineup is more like entry level Charvel than Fender), and this looks like a fantastic tool for practice or demos. So glad Fender is getting back to their roots - engineering useful, versatile gear. And I'm not even a Fender fanboy!
Best Demo! I'm an OTR truck driver, and the Mustang Micro is the best amp for travel I have seen yet. I bought mine just yesterday at Guitar Center in Shreveport matching Sweetwater's price at $79! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MEEE AND Y'ALL
I came looking for a review on this device but what I left with was a huge love for your skill and style of playing. I got goosebumps a few times I can't lie. I wish you a long and happy life for all of the inspiration you give us. I'ma play my guitar now. Peace to you and your family.
I bought it and am loving it on my Fender Noventa Jazzmaster. Highly recommend you buy both of these items. The amp is very realistic and like 3D sound if that makes sense. The guitar is magnificent.
Great review! I’ve had this unit for about a year and it’s an outstanding option for playing at night or when you don’t want to bother anyone. However, I’ve never even tried the USB out to software. I’m obviously missing out on half the fun. You should put out some guitar courses man! I’d buy it!

Wow, nice playing. I gave up playing electric after tinnitus got really bad. I only play acoustic over a microphone, but watching you play makes me want to play my strat again...
I’ve had one for a month or so & it does come in handy in the middle of the night ...it’s a fun little piece of amazing technology...$99.00 unbelievably priced.
Hey RJ: Great overview! Loved the little Jazzy Jam you did at 13:41. I'd love to see a "lesson video" with tabs on how you structured that little Jazz song. Nice one!
After wanting to get into playing guitar for a while, a customer at my work today just randomly gave me a guitar with this particular amp and your review has helped me so much! By a stroke of fate I was given the chance to learn an amazing skill and I'm glad I stumbled upon your video to help me learn some more. I typically never comment on videos but I was very impressed and equally surprised to find out that I've got an excellent product on my hands. Subscribed!
Best review of amp/headphones amp I ever seen. Dude makes all possible sounds demo, playing something that fits that specific effect and doesn't bitch about his personal preferences of any of it, purely and transparently showing the device capabilities at its proper use. You killed dude! Leaving my like and would leave it 2 if that was possible.
I got one one these this week and I am loving it! One tip I would add is that you can use your guitar’s volume as a gain knob. RJ, I could listen to you play all day brother! Excellent review.
Great demo. I’m pretty sure the reason the cord is short is because it’s pretty much for plugging in to charge. A short cord for that purpose is more portable.
I live in a condo and this product is absolutely amazing. I plug it right into the final pedal on my board and use a clean channel. Works great! the pedals tones still sound great playing along with bluetoothed tracks.
Never saw your videos before. Was watching another Micro review, and yours popped up in the feed. Love your personality on camera. Even though it's obvious you love you some rockabilly, loved how you fit the style of your play to go with the tone, amp, etc AND you pulled it off. Great playing. Subscribed. One of the best reviews on this item. IF I were to critique, when reviewing/demoing amps, or modeled amps etc, please use more than one guitar. Sounded fantastic with the Tele. But, how does it sound with Humbuckers?
Great review. Got it a couple weeks ago and love it. Sounds good with any guitar. Haven't found a better/easier way to practice or jam without bothering the neighbors. Perfect for late night sessions when everyone else in the house is asleep. Guitar + Micro + Headphones = Freedom to move with great tones.
I've watched a number of review for this gizmo, and I think you did the best job of demonstrating the capabilities. I do wish you had done some battery life testing. Others have said 4 hours-ish. I just ordered mine a few days ago, and I still have to wait at least two more days until delivery. The wait is almost painful! LOL!! I subscribed.
Got one on release day - blown away by how great it sounds! Wish it had a few presets as I’m gonna wear the buttons out. Should be product of the year !!
Top class demonstration and lovely guitar playing. Saved me weeks of scratching my head trying to work out how to get the best from this terrific device.
It's amazing. The most fun I've had playing in a long, long time. I'm pretty much parked on the '70s British and the Tape Delay setting. Use the volume knob on my single-coil-loaded Tele to go from clean to mean. It's ridiculous.
Just got this, the Fender tones are tons of fun, and I love the bluetooth input for easy play-along (no bluetooth output to headphones or PC). Your Tele pickups really suit this amp completely on all profiles.
I just picked this up a month or so ago. Completely blown away by how good this thing sounds and how easy it is to connect my phone to jam along to backing tracks, or tabs on Songsterr, RUclips etc.
Just picked one of these up today for my sons Birthday and found Wes Studi doin a awesome review, LOL Wes is one of my favorite actors and you sure look like him. You play a mean tele. thanks
Just picked one up. Fender really did this one right. Easy to operate...card is included for settings but after a few sessions I pretty much have it memorized. The sound quality is awesome I immediately connected to blue tooth and played blues to backing tracks in about 8 different keys. I looked up and realized 2 hours went by this thing is that much fun. Bought one off this review good stuff!
I bought this and never used it. Now I saw this review and I tried it out on my guitar and I am IN LOVE!! I don't need to plug in all the time. Thanks for making this video!
Hey RJ, I've been wanting to get one of these for months but needed to do some homework on it first. Looked at many RUclips reviews but yours is the only one that convinced me to buy one. I have the Nux version but I was looking for something more Fendery. You've also gained a subscriber dude.
I just got mine for Christmas and I have to say, I’m blown away by it. Better even than the “actual” mustang amps, in my opinion. I kind of wish there were an app to link and see/change settings. I did get a little carrying case big enough for the unit, cable, and some picks for about $12. Great content and rundown of the unit. You’ve got a new subscriber
That was a great demonstration of the device and an even better demonstration of how versatile of a guitarist you are. Your playing is very fluid and precise. I imagine you’ve been playing for awhile, either way, very excellent guitar skills you’ve got. Thanks for sharing.
I love this thing. Two things I wish: that there was a way to adjust gain on each amp; and that there was a way to blend guitar input while playing along with music (other than using the guitar's vol knob). Otherwise, this thing is PERFECT. I play bass through it too, with great results. Well done Fender!
Great sounds. Easy to use. Don’t need heavy equipment to get a great large sound. Best thing I’ve bought in years. I have a tele that I bought twenty-two years ago and never play it because I do not like the sound that I get out of my fender concert amp. Not gonna pay to get a good sound and buy different stuff. This gadget changed it up big time. Didn’t know about it till I asked the guy at the store if they have something like that. Bought it on the spot with headphones. First use was very satisfying. More than what I expected. This technology is gonna put the amplifier sales in check. Just run it through a good speaker and you won’t need to have a whole bunch of stuff.
I come back here every so often just to hear that raspberry demo and omfg. It’s as good as the first time I heard it. Amazing guitar playing skills and even more amazing hair.
It doesn't have any dedicated bass amps but the Studio Preamp sounds great with bass. Since the presets were done by someone with taste, this unit is perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend time tweaking.
I just bought one of these and straight out of the box it's the best little practice amp I've used (and that's a lot...). RJ, thanks for your brilliant take on this little box, as always.
Thank you for the demo! Great overview of the device. Very talented player as well. It’s my first time on your channel, but will definitely be back! 👏🏽
What a fantastic little device. Between the 65 Deluxe and the Vox (70s British) amps voices and the Spring Reverb, Slapback Delay, and Tremolo effects this is all the sound I need. The audio interface is a major bonus. I gotta get one.
Because he doesn't screw around, gets right to the point, speaks fast but clearly, and doesn't try to be funny. A "no-nonsense" demo if I ever saw one! Also keeps each effect demo relatively short. Seemed to have a knack for how to demo each effect and amp style. Very good and versatile player to boot. Finger picking style was off the charts too. Is there any musical genre or style this guy can't play? Oh and did I mention he didn't torture us with an overly loud and annoying musical into to his video. Thank you!
Great review of this crazy sweet devise to play your guitar (with various effects / tone, etc.) through headphones, PC, are a blue tooth compatible speaker. I have to say that patching the Micro through your recording equipment / speaker set-up sounds awesome. Probably not something I could come close to matching, but I've got to give this amazing gadget a try.
Fantastic playing! From what we are hearing here, the sounds from that small device are all great and very useable out of the box. That means much less tweaking and much more playing. I like that! Great review! Just subscribed. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video, RJ. I love how you went through all of the amp models before adding on FX. Hearing the amp this way helped me decided whether this would work for me or not. Keep these videos coming!
Hey RJ, Nice review and going through all the settings and options that was very helpful. I have had the Mustang Micro for 3 weeks and love it. I use it for jamming myself to sleep. I play a Strat with the Stang Micro using my smartfone to jam with RUclips backing tracks. I use the headphone out to a Tascam DR-40 line in and record what I play and plug my headphones into the DR-40. The next day at work I have a stereo mix of my bedtime jam session. It is perfect, it doesn't bother my girlfriend or my dog. Someday I'll track some jams into my computer DAW. This unit is a light year ahead of my VOX AmPlug (and I like that too). Last weekend I used it sitting on the back deck with my smartfone having a headphone jam while grilling steaks. This thing is awesome. If anybody is considering buying one of these I'll back RJ and say it is the best $100 bucks I've spent on Music Gear, go for it you won't be disappointed. Last of all,... I was born and raised I Michigan and I'm just curios about that Olde English D on your right arm. Are you a Michigander or Tigers fan?
Great review, thanks, this looks like it has some potential beyond the usual plug in. Also, thanks for once again proving just how versatile a Tele is :)
Great demonstration! Not being critical at all, but I find it interesting that whenever someone is playing a Tele while demonstrating high gain tones, they often say..."forgive me" as if there is something fundamentally not acceptable. You can get some really cool tones with a Tele and high gain amp in my opinion as demonstrated in this video. I find that using a Tele with high gain gives you the opportunity to showcase the tone you can get from your unique playing style, pick attack, etc...that may even be missing to a degree when using a traditional "heavy metal" guitar with a high gain setting. I would take this further to say that it is also cool to take a traditional "heavy metal" guitar and see what you can get when you use it for lesser gain tones. Anyway...great job on this video! Very much appreciate it as I am considering purchasing this soon.
Great demo, and wonderful playing! I already have a similar item, the Nu-x Mightly Plug, but the Fender has some features that the Nu-x doesn't have (and vice versa). I am tempted to get this one too!!
I just bought one of these from Sweetwater. $119.99. It sounds great through my Audio-Technica studio headphones and also my wired Sony "walkman" headphones. I really like it. Navigating the LED lights will take a little while to get familiar but I'm not worried about it. I would recommend it to just about anybody, especially if you have nearby neighbors. I love the idea of playing outdoors with headphones and not even needing a guitar cord.
@@bluezy1 It is just a little bit bigger than a Matchbox toy car. It has a headphone jack of the same type and size you see on phones. It also has a USB-C jack used for charging and also for connecting to a PC so that you can record to a DAW and get crystal clear and clean tracks. It is also a Bluetooth RECEIVER. You cannot pair it to Bluetooth wireless headphones nor a Bluetooth speaker. But you can pair it to your PC or phone and play backing tracks from the PC/phone to the Mustang. That way with headphones plugged into the device you can hear the music and your guitar. It has a master volume knob so you can set the levels the way you want them. As I have said, if you want you can easily get a 3.55mm patch cable (male to male) and connect to a speaker with a 3.55mm input jack. I use JBL Go 2. JBL Go 3 does not have a jack for some reason. I love it. I can take my electric guitar outside and play with the ease and portability of an acoustic. ENJOY!
Funny thing I accidentally discovered was, if you want to use your wired headphones on your phone and you don't have or you lost your AUX to USB-C, this is a nice thing to have for that too! Also this thing is an absolute game changer for trying out guitars at the shops. Knowing what you like and what sound you're looking for. I know what I'm taking the next time I go!
Also on march 2022 there was an update with some sound improvements. For example: "Improved USB recording level by disconnecting it from the master volume".

I was in the fence about getting one. Not anymore. Fantastic demo, and playing. You’ve answered all my questions. Thank you. Liked and Subscribed!
Great review, thanks, this looks like it has some potential beyond the usual plug in. Also, thanks for once again proving just how versatile a Tele is :)
Proud pinoy here of you. Thanks RJ. I hope I can buy that here in the Philippines.
This is how reviews should be made.
Man this thing sounds amazing for the price.
I ordered one today. It was easy to see that you were actually impressed at various points. Nicely and genuinely done. Subbed now too.
Fantastic demo of an amazing new piece of tech from Fender!
16:07 Nice playing RJ.
Vito Bratta is underrated.
Great demo, and wonderful playing! I already have a similar item, the Nu-x Mightly Plug, but the Fender has some features that the Nu-x doesn't have (and vice versa). I am tempted to get this one too!!
It’s got a Brown Eye model 🤘🏽! This thing is the Rig my wife wishes I used.
17:00 oooh yeah! Dot it boi
Thanks just got one of these while on vacation can't wait to get to work playing it
Don’t be fooled, RJ can make any guitar effects sound good.
I've ordered it , can't wait for it any longer , one more day to go .
Assuming this thing does allow for direct plugin via headphones?
thanks! I’m sold… well nearly
Thanks RJ! I've had mine on backorder for a few weeks now. Hopefully, it's back in stock soon.
I love mine! I’ve also had a Mustang GTX100, LT25, and the LT40. All great products, Fender has been killing it lately.
Also on march 2022 there was an update with some sound improvements. For example: "Improved USB recording level by disconnecting it from the master volume".
Great and very helpful review!
I wish all such videos were as thorough and useful.
Thank you!
