Laura, what a great idea! I could make one for each day of the week. Stock them all up on the weekend and have no wardrobe decisions to make all week. I am soooo excited to do this!
As usual from you, this is a useful tutorial that also encourages one's imagination. Can't you just see multiple hangers in the closet, each with everything organized and ready to go?! So grateful you presented this one in your usual calm and organized manner. Thank you, Laura!
This is a fantastic idea. I appreciate knowing it is best for a sturdy hanger like wood. I am going to put this on my list of goodies to make. Thank you!
This is such a unique gift to make! Make a one for the bride and bridegroom (as you suggested) and give them as a bridal shower gift. The mother-in-law to be or a bride's friend can make them for the bridemaids and grooms; make it for your college roommate; a thank-you to a friend at work who helped with a project, etc. I love it for planning out one's working wardrobe (w/ jewelry or specialty bras, accessories) for the week. Once again, showing us how to make our own pattern, taping two pencils together to make two lines, and then the lace or a little longer fabric for the piping as trims. Man, Laura! People pay lots of money to go sewing lessons/classes for these kind of details! Thanks for being so giving with your time and instructions.
Wow, just what I needed so now I have pulled the wardrobe out and all the hangers and on my way to the sewing room to cover them! I only buy wooden hangers without bars!! Thank you for the lovely tuition!
What a great idea, Laura! Our son is getting married and I will make two of these hangers for the bride and the groom to have everything in one place for their wedding. As always everything was described very clearly. At the end I found myself just smiling! It is always such a relaxing time for me while watching your videos. Thank you and have a great Spring.
You are a beautiful genius!!!! I LOVE this idea, and I'm going to make one right away for myself! Then my granddaughter, daughters, nieces, sisters, friends, and more! Thank you for this simple, complex looking, beautiful idea!
That was the clearest instructional sewing video I’ve seen. I appreciate how each step was shown in detail with excellent camera work. I’m an older ‘junior’ sewer and need the detail, but don’t appreciate the tone of so many videos that leave me feeling inadequate to the task. Subscribed!
You are amazing! I have been looking high and low for something like this to purchase and now I can actually sew it and make it! Thank you sew very much!
I used a similar technique to make a clothes pin bag for my sister. I did an insert at the bottom front of rug canvas to vent (dry those wooden clothes pins so they don't mold!). This would make a good gift. I keep 2 pencils taped together for the same purpose. Very good episode. Thanks Laura.
I will make this for a travel bag for my blow dryer, curling iron, and straightener. This will make it easy to gang on hook or door knob. I love your ideas. Keep them coming.
This is great. I’m going to make sets of matching garment bags from the earlier video you posted along with a matching padded hanger with bags. These will be fabulous gift sets for Christmas. Thank you so much for these marvelous videos.
Hi Laura - what a great little project! Wish I had this for my daughter's wedding back in 2014 would have been great for the bridesmaids and their accessories. As we are approaching nicer weather here in the UK its time to put laundry out to dry - I need a new peg bag and this method is great, I'll probably just use interfacing and box the corners, so it will hold the pegs. Thank you
I LOVE THIS!!! I cant wait to make some. I have patterns from the 50's and 60's for making them but you made it look soooooo much easier!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
I LOVE THIS!!! And as always so well explained and simple to follow! As I was watching I was thinking about my husbands Tux which he has to wear often in his profession and then you mentioned the Tux! I believe this will also become this years Christmas gifts for the family and each in prints they like! Thanks so much!
Thanks for a fantastic video. I made a coat hanger last night and it turned out beautifully. I've also thought of embroidering initials on the lower front section to personalize them.
I am new to your channel. So far I have only watched three of your videos and each one taught me at least one trick! Taping two pencils together to create seam allowance is genius! I wish I knew this earlier!
+SewVeryEasy yeah it's lovely to see you're videos as well. Have you got you're carriage for you rather expensive piece of kit yet? Hope you are well. I'm having a horror fest this evening with my significant other & drinking wine yummy.
+SewVeryEasy I am going to make a second one for my sister. A few months ago her house was burglarized and she lost all her good jewelry. This time she can hide her valuables.
I made these hanger safes for stash cash or when I travel and stay in a hotel room. I started with a zipper so things won’t fall out but.. I found that cam snaps and Velcro works too. This is nice to store hats gloves for winter coats when you hand them chopsticks are 1/4” too if they have a square end handle well done
Laura, can you tell us how much fabric is need to create this wonderful project. When I was growing up, these were so popular. Now that I live in a smaller home, this would solve many storage issues. Love everything you teach in your tutorials.
You are a born teacher! Every time I watch your videos everything makes sense. Thank you
I can't wait to make this to use to bring outfits to the gym! The bag will make bringing unmentionables so much easier!
Best directions I’ve found on how to sew this. Thank you!
Laura, what a great idea! I could make one for each day of the week. Stock them all up on the weekend and have no wardrobe decisions to make all week. I am soooo excited to do this!
