I've not had this model but owned and repaired several GF-700's which needed a lot more work than the neat looking GF-575 you feature here. 😉 I predict you will just have basic routine service (hopefully no sticky melted cassette belt goo or blown motors to worry about - these issues are common in the GF-700) so it could turn out to be a quick fix, short and sweet video. 😎 Dolby NR is a good feature to have in case you own "hissy" tapes. 😇👍
@@retro_restos They don't have the same drive as the 9191/9494/9696 etc, they have the more conventional like the GF8989. Therefore they dont tend to have the issue of the take up spool not turning causing a chew-up. FF/Rew tends to suffer due to the drive tyres getting shiny and worn though.
@@retro_restos Tip: On those 'other' ones with capstan drive I use a tiny piece of silicone rubber tube (as used in model aircraft engines for fuel pipe) as a replacement drive tyre on the capstan shaft. Worked well on my 9191 to this day.
@TheOptimod I agree. I've tried numerous extrusions from glazing, brewing and recreation industries, but 2mm ID x 5.5mm fuel line definitely works the best - not just for dims, but surface traction too - and I have less runout as the tolerances are nice on the length I have.
These look better even better with the grills removed.

Here's hoping! I've not worked on one of these before - do they have a capstan rubber setup like some of the other GFs?

@TheOptimod thanks for that. Always a bonus when you don't have to open a sticky plastic can of worms 😀👍
