my husband and i just finished this set and it is absolutely beautiful. It comes with a playlist that you can listen to as you build with experts talking about the areas of space you are building that just made it an extra layer of interesting, we will be lighting this kit and hanging it
My wife and I just found this at a toy store in the city and impulse bought it yesterday. She’s not as big into Lego as I am, but we have been both looking forward to this set. I’m happy there’s multiple instruction booklets. We started building it last night while watching a movie. It was nice time.
I had the same experience a month ago and we had a blast. It was a great "Lego Zen" fun time, esp. when paired with some chill music (since the added podcast wasn't very long ^^). Hope you will enjoy it the same 🙂
Thanks for the review. I love this set: I got it day one, as a display piece on my wall, next to the rest of the 2024 City Space release wave. To me, this is what Lego Art can be - a wholly original, striking image using an unusual building technique, that isn't a 'lego take on established IP' like the Great Wave or Spiderman. I also loved having the specially recorded podcast to listen to while building, it had a lovely energy. The thing looks cool, the colors are very vivid, and if I ever tire of it I still have 3k pieces of varying striking colours to greeble my other builds with, so to me it was a great deal. As you say the build experience wasn't the best; so many small pieces in the build to push into place, it left a circular indent on my fingertip. But the result is striking in the morning light.
I do appreciate them using different textures and pieces to give it depth. It must have been really fun for the designers to figure out how many different and obscure pieces they could use. Honestly my favorite thing with Lego is how a piece originally made for one purpose can be used for an entirely different one in another set

One thing that has to be mentioned regarding its price is also how disgustingly dusty this set will get. since it has insane amounts of surface area stacked in a relatively small footprint. So I guess that people will install some sort of glass in front of it, to protect it from dust.
Just finished building it, and it was surprisingly MUCH more enjoyable that I thought it would be. Only got it since I'm a space fan, but the build experience was pretty enjoyable! Weird....
The higher volume in the middle seems opposite to what would make sense. Thunk it'd look better having the highest volume on outside, drawing your eye into the middle.
Tiago, have you ever noticed how similar those art plate pieces are to the old Indians jones raised baseplates they used in the original set that had the boulder roll and jocks plane ? Seeing them brings back childhood memories every time
The Van Gogh set has somewhat put me off the art sets. Unfortunately that one weighed a ton and if you look at it the wrong way it falls out of its frame. As a consequence mine is currently in a box in a thousand pieces and I don't want to think how many tiny pieces I lost to the mysterious lego vortex that opens when ever lego touches the ground.
Comparing price per pieces is somewhat biased for some LEGO set, including this one. Is price per weight relevant or a better way to qualify the price of the set?
£170...!!! Unless this is heavily discounted I can justify purchasing this.. It looks like you will have to look at this at a distance, to see the effect
I know you said it was interesting to see what pieces you were going get, but how was the over all building experience? I got the feeling it’s not that great considering there are so many small pieces.
I love how in the instruction book for the Gaia telescope they say it has traveled billions of miles in our galaxy. At just billions of miles, it hasn't even left our solar system

The bonsai was the first set I bought as an adult
Adequate amount of frogs

As cool as this one looks, I can't help but imagine what a pain it's going to be to keep it dust free.
a long soft bristle paint brush is amazing at removing dust from stuff like this that has small crevices.
Would canned air just knock pieces off?

I’ve been waiting for this one:-)
But does it come with a lego frog? With that many random parts, surely they didn't forget to slip a frog in there somewhere!
Neat piece! Those pieces feel chaotic at the small scale.

Looking forward to adding my work discount when it's inevitably price matched.. the perks of working for a major retailer who stock a ton of lego!
I think we need an aurora borealis art set next, i think that would look amazing :)

Should be cheaper though

Definitely going to wait for a discount. But still a cool set, just can’t justify $200 for a bunch of tiny pieces and no minifigs
Hi Tiagao, I love your content. Can you do a video about what got you into Lego and what sparked your love for Lego?

I have this set under my bed to build one day its going above my artemis space set once i finish building the discovery shuttle
I absolutely love this. There are just too many other expensive sets higher up on my list.
This looks really good. Especially if you hang it with kurzgesagt posters, which is my plan.
I can’t help it, I bought this set, and I love it
I want this so bad, but 200e is a bit steep, if it was 100e I'd buy immediately to put on the wall
I imagine the packing process would be a pain for this one, since it's a lot of small niche pieces.
Put it next to Mountain View Observatory!
Putting an art set next to a Minifigure scale set would be very interesting to display
150 on amazon atm :)
