  • The Tisas 1911A1 U.S. ARMY Clone from SDS imports is definitely one of the best budget minded 1911 pistols I have ever owned. The classic 1911 look that Tisas gave their 1911a1 U.S. ARMY clone is hard to over look. The fit and finish is great and the machining is on par with the big names in the 1911 community.
    Finding one new for $300.00 to $450.00 is not hard to do at all and you will not be disappointed that you picked one up. Holding this new retro pistol will bring you right back to February 14th 1911 Valentines Day, the same day John Moses Browning's blueprints were officially patented and published for this Classic American Masterpiece. Patent number 984,519.
    Band: Echo Effect
    Album: Where angles learn to fly.
    Songs: Only in the movies, Face of the girl, The violence between us, Push-over
    Label: P.U.R.E. Pacific underground records and entertainment, Minneapolis, MN
    Rights of use through Eric Huard Bass/Vocals

    I just bought the Tisas 1911 commander size. Like you said, the value is there. I had no failures to feed with mine, unlike some of my more expensive 1911's. I had the hammer bite too, but the most attractive thing about this series is how close they resemble the original 1911 pistols, and hammer bite comes with the territory. Great video.

    FYI, 4.5 lbs is Military Minimum. Paper targets are available for the cost of printer paper and ink. Paper never lies to you, though you might wish it did. If the controls are not stainless steel, you should consider getting them hard chrome plated or refinished in other ways. Also make sure you get a good rust inhibitor lube down into the guts. This seems to aid in reliability in the 1911s. I also get a new stronger firing pin spring to make the gun more drop safe. Your looks used so I would for sure get new springs. Its a cheap upgrade!

    Nice! Way back when, I was briefly an M60 gunner and the 1911 that was assigned to me rattled like crazy. I had a discussion with the unit armorer about it. His take was this, do you want to target shoot with it or do you want it to work when you really need it? True it was no target pistol but it was more than adequate for what I needed it to do. I think maybe 15 years ago or so I bought one the Charles Daly 1911's made in the Philippines for $335.00 brand new. Never had any issues with it other than it would stovepipe if it was limp wristed.

The big thing is the feed ramp needs to be polished and the mags need to run regardless if the barrel is loose or tight.

    • @jamesm_tx
      @jamesm_tx Год назад

      Awesome video! I’ve seen you reply a couple times here on different comments about the hammer bite, that it’s not the support hand being bite, it’s your trigger hand (right hand). Your misunderstanding what they are trying to explain. When your shooting for example at (6:58) and you look at your grip, your gripping the gun in a modern way, “high and tight” which is correct but not for the 1911. What they mean by under support is that your left hand, the way you are gripping is causing your right hand thumb to sit high on left hand thumb, stretching the webbing of your right hand which results in the hammer bite. When they tell you to do a “under support” they refer to your left hand needing to be at bottom of pistol, which will allow your right hand thumb to choke down a whole lot, like the guys at end of video. They are using a under support with their left hand and it lets there right hand thumb sit lower on grip. But look at your right hand thumb, it’s sitting very high near slide, due to your left hand support (your thumb is sitting on support hand, which stretches your webbing and results in bite) if your shooting one handed, then your thumb won’t be sitting on support anymore and can rest lower on grip preventing bite. That’s why they say it’s a one handed gun. It’s meant to shoot with a older and lower grip style. That cannot be achieved if your gripping in the modern way. I understand that your support hand is not the one being bite, but they are implying that your support hand is causing your right hand to get bite due to modern gripping. By the way you look like TOM CRUISE, pretty cool!! Take it easy!

    • @jeerrrrrrryyyyy
      @jeerrrrrrryyyyy  3 года назад +1

      I believe that you can get a standard beaver tail for a 1911, the down side is most of the time there will be some hand fitting to be done.
      I believe that if the recoil spring was heavier then the issues with those magazines would be gone. On the flip side (pun intended) when the slide closes after firing a round the end user will notice more “tip down” causing slightly more time to re aim at the target.
      This is only a issue if you want a fast follow up shot.
